🕑 Added 2025-04-04 16:01:27 +0000 UTCChapter 141: Redbeard
Indeed, things unfolded exactly as Vir had anticipated.
Whitebeard actually managed to hold it in!
This was nothing short of a miracle.
He resisted the effects of the system’s item!
Relying solely on his own strength.
That wasn’t just impressive—it was downright extraordinary.
But there was no rush.
No rush at all.
You managed to endure it once, but can you handle it twice? Three times? Four times? Five times?
After Vir drove his drill straight through Whitebeard’s head, he swiftly detached the hammer bit.
Once removed, he immediately swapped it out for the drill bit.
But don’t think that just because the drill was no longer active, Whitebeard’s condition would improve.
The effects of these "needles"?
They stacked!
Nyeh heh heh heh...
So tell me, how exactly are you going to endure this?
How can you possibly hold out?
Buzzzzzzzzz~
The drill was ready.
"Hey, old man, I forgot to mention something about my acupuncture technique." Vir said with a twisted grin, his tone dripping with mock sympathy.
"It has a tendency to terrify those who are afraid of needles."
"And when you're terrified, you naturally wanna cry, right? No shame in that. If you feel like crying, just let it all out!"
"Being scared of needles isn’t embarrassing. What kid isn’t afraid of injections, huh?"
The way Vir looked at Whitebeard—his face twisted into a bizarre, taunting expression—was nothing short of provoking.
Hearing this, the first thing Whitebeard wanted to do was kill him on the spot.
But he couldn’t afford to lose focus now.
If he faltered even slightly, the tears would burst out.
This bastard was deliberately cornering him!
'Why the hell didn’t you say this earlier?!'
'Now you’ve got me stuck in this situation, and you’re explaining everything so clearly?'
'Afraid that my sons won’t understand why I’m crying, huh?'
'Damn it! Just wait until I get up! If I do, I swear I’ll tear your head off!'
For someone as composed as Whitebeard, it was rare for him to curse in his heart.
That was how much Vir was making him suffer.
The moment Vir said those words, everyone suddenly understood!
So that’s why he wanted to cry—because he was afraid of needles.
Ohhh~
Makes sense now~
Such a detailed explanation…
Wait—hold on.
Did you just say… afraid of needles?!
Did you even hear what you just said?!
Do you realize how ridiculous this sounds?!
Are you seriously telling us... that our Pops... is afraid of needles?
Afraid to the point of crying?!
What the hell!!
Even if you said he was about to piss himself, that would’ve been a better excuse!
How are we supposed to accept this?!
The world’s strongest man.
Afraid of needles?
Are you kidding us?!
They were all on the verge of a breakdown.
Because this ridiculous statement had come from Vir—the "miracle doctor".
And despite themselves... they found it a little believable.
Could it be… that Pops had some kind of childhood trauma about needles?
They really had no idea.
"YOU CAN DO IT, POPS! IT’S JUST A SHOT! DON’T BE SCARED!"
Someone in the crowd shouted out.
Instantly, Whitebeard’s already red face turned even redder.
It seemed the title of "Redbeard" was now firmly set in stone.
But as soon as that guy finished speaking, others immediately joined in.
"HANG IN THERE, POPS! DON’T CRY! WE’RE HERE WITH YOU!"
"POPS! YOU’RE THE BEST! DON’T BE AFRAID OF NEEDLES! YOU GOT THIS!"
"IT’S OKAY, POPS! JOZU IS HERE~"
Damn it! It was bad enough before, but the more they talked, the harder it became for Whitebeard to keep it together!
Right now, he really wanted to punch all these foolish sons of his!
Meanwhile, Vir had already jumped down from Whitebeard’s body and moved to his feet.
Whitebeard didn’t need many shots.
Just two.
One was the one to the forehead earlier.
The second one…
Was at the sole of the foot, in the deepest indentation when the toes curled.
After both shots, he only needed to keep them in for about ten minutes.
The moment Vir pressed the rotary hammer drill against the sole of Whitebeard’s foot, everyone’s minds went blank—including Whitebeard’s.
The situation was clear.
This thing was going into his foot.
But...
That drill bit was half a meter long.
Was this for real?
Dude?
Only someone of Whitebeard’s size could even survive this!
Is this really acupuncture?
Because it doesn’t look like it at all!
Buzzzzzzzzz~!
Vir didn’t say another word.
He simply pressed the drill forward—
And drilled straight into Whitebeard’s sole!
At the tip of the drill bit—
A layer of Haki had formed.
This time, with the reinforcement of Haki, the drill slid in effortlessly!
Shwoop!—
It disappeared in an instant.
And the moment it did—
Whitebeard’s face swelled like a balloon!
His cheeks puffed out, his eyes bulged to the point of nearly popping, and his hands immediately clamped over his mouth!
But barely half a second later—
He couldn’t hold it in anymore!
One "needle", he could still bear!
But two?!
ABSOLUTELY NOT!
"If you can’t hold it in, just cry it out!" Vir fanned the flames, shaking Whitebeard’s resolve.
The moment he finished speaking, he couldn’t hold back his grin any longer.
Because Whitebeard… had finally cracked!
His tightly shut mouth flew open!
And the sound he had been holding back poured out like a flood!
Vir’s eyes lit up with excitement.
And then—
The entire ship echoed with the sound of crying!
"Ying ying ying~! Ying ying ying~! Ying ying ying~!"
...
...
Silence.
A deathly silence…
Other than Whitebeard’s... unique crying, there was no other sound aboard the ship.
It was as if even the wind had deliberately avoided this place.
Even the waves had gone still.
Vir involuntarily stopped what he was doing.
The drill, still spinning just moments ago, came to a halt.
His expression was frozen in place, his face twisted as if he had just seen a ghost.
He stared blankly at the crying Whitebeard.
It was as if his brain had completely shut down.
If he was like this...
Then the others...
Had their minds utterly shattered in an instant.
Truly, their brains had shriveled up.
Being dazed was just the most basic reaction.
Some people’s legs gave out, causing them to collapse to the ground.
They all dumbly looked in the direction of the sound.
Repeating over and over in their minds, trying to confirm the reality of the situation.
This...
Is this real?
Pops… Pops was…
Making such… delicate?
Delicate crying sounds?
Was this really happening?
Had they lost their minds?
They must have lost their minds, right?
"I’m a damn disgrace, actually hearing Pops’ crying like this…"
"I’m a goddamn monster."
And Marco—the strongest among Whitebeard’s sons, the one closest to Vir—
Even his legs gave out, nearly sending him crashing to the deck.
He only managed to steady himself by grabbing onto Vir at the last second.
He looked at Vir, who was right in front of him, and with a trembling voice, said, “Vir... Vir... You’re a miracle doctor, right?”
“Can you treat me... treat my ears? My ears must be hallucinating! I must be hallucinating!”
“Oh... and if possible, can you erase this memory from my brain too? Thanks!”
He shakily grabbed onto Vir and shook him.
But all Vir wanted to say at that moment was: I’m not any better off than you, man.
I feel like my ears have been contaminated too.
I think I just heard something I really shouldn’t have.
If I could, I’d love to perform brain surgery on myself right now.
Who could have expected this?
Seriously, who could have seen this coming?
A pirate worth over five billion berries.
The world’s strongest man.
The wielder of the Gura Gura no Mi.
One of the Four Emperors.
With all these titles stacked up...
Even if they racked their brains until they broke—
They’d never associate "ying ying ying" with him!
This level of contrast nearly threw out Vir’s back!
His current state of shock wasn’t any less than the rest of the Whitebeard Pirates.
His mind had also taken a severe hit.
He still couldn’t quite process it.
Was this truly Whitebeard’s real crying voice? Or was it the effect of that device?
He didn’t know.
He couldn’t even think right now.
Because that voice was still ringing in his ears like a demonic chant, relentlessly hammering at his brain.
That crying sound...
Lasted for a full five minutes.
During these five minutes...
No one spoke. No one moved.
Other than the sound of knees repeatedly hitting the deck, no other noises could be heard.
Like that, after torturing everyone—including Vir—for a full five minutes...
Whitebeard finally stopped.
But still, no one spoke.
Vir didn’t move either.
He was still staring at Whitebeard in complete shock.
Whitebeard didn’t need to look to know that every gaze around him was filled with indescribable complexity.
But besides feeling hot with shame, there wasn’t much else he could do.
Looking at Marco’s vacant, shattered eyes staring back at him...
Then looking at Vir’s similarly trembling gaze locked onto him...
Whitebeard silently closed his eyes.
With great difficulty, he turned his head toward an empty part of the deck...
Another wave of silence...
An eerie, deathly silence...
Now there was truly no sound at all.
This state of absolute stillness lasted for ten minutes.
Finally, Vir broke the silence.
He let out a long exhale.
And then, speaking in the gentlest tone possible—no, the gentlest tone imaginable—he said: “I understand...”
“I understand you...”
After speaking, he even patted Whitebeard’s calf.
These were his true feelings, spoken from the bottom of his heart.
Absolutely sincere, without the slightest hint of mockery.
He just wanted to console Whitebeard.
But when Whitebeard heard these words, the urge to kill Vir skyrocketed once again!
[Ding! Congratulations, Host! You’ve earned 800,000 negative points!]
[Ding! Congratulations to the host for acquiring the ability: Conqueror’s Haki Infusion - Pinnacle Level!]
Vir: ...
He froze on the spot.
And not just in a figurative sense.
He was literally, utterly frozen.
Conqueror’s Haki Infusion...
Conqueror’s Haki Infusion!!
THE Conqueror’s Haki Infusion!!!
Holy mother of...
System!
Are you sure?!
Do you need to double-check?!
Did you send this to the wrong person?!
Are you REALLY not mistaken?!
Conqueror’s Haki Infusion! PINNACLE LEVEL!!
Do you even understand what the words “pinnacle level” mean, system?!
Directly obtaining pinnacle level Conqueror’s Haki Infusion...
Did he just instantly reach the peak of the pirate world?!
This reward...
Once again, completely blew Vir’s mind!
His brain nearly exploded from the sheer impact of this revelation!
This reward was, without a doubt, the most overpowered ability on Whitebeard’s entire skill list!
Not only did he earn millions of Negative Points...
But he also gained this absolute top-tier ability.
This is the power of the sniffles and whimpers?!
He freaking LOVE it!!!
The world’s strongest man truly lives up to his name!
Vir, feeling like he had just taken a heavy dose of stimulants, suddenly went into a frenzy.
But after a brief moment of madness, he suddenly thought of something.
'Uh...'
'Wait a second...'
'Don’t I... not have Conqueror’s Haki?'
'I think...'
'I don’t actually have Conqueror’s Haki...'
'I really, truly don’t have Conqueror’s Haki!!!'
'Damn it!'
'That means this Infusion ability...'
'Has absolutely zero effect on my current combat power!'
The ladder to the peak of the world was already built.
But...
A massive section was missing in the middle.
And he can’t cross it...
This is so damn frustrating!
Does this mean he really can’t participate in the Summit War?
Is he really just stuck watching from the sidelines?
No!
Unacceptable!
There has to be a way!
With the system here...
There HAS to be a way!
With so many Negative Points!
There must be a solution!
Vir was just about to upgrade the system first.
But as soon as he opened his character panel...
One of his abilities immediately caught his eye.
‘Mimic’
Mimic: By touching another person’s face, you can completely transform into them.
