If that was really the case...
Then what did that make him?
A stinking sea bum?!
Just as this thought crossed Whitebeard's mind, Vir had already tightened his gloves and smeared that liquid onto his hands!
"Hey, brat! What are you trying to do?!" Whitebeard asked, a bit nervous.
Wearing a gas mask, Vir’s voice came out muffled.
"Marinating it... cough—I mean, no. This is a secret medicine I developed. It enhances the massage’s effects."
The moment Whitebeard heard this, his expression changed drastically!
But before he could react, Vir's hands had already pressed down!
Whitebeard immediately felt an unusual sensation in his lungs!
It was somewhat cold... but also kind of burning.
He couldn’t quite tell which it was!
The cold was real.
The burning was real too.
Not only did this burn the eyes, it was attacking his lungs as well.
[Ding! Congratulations, Host! You’ve earned 500,000 negative points!]
At this moment, Whitebeard was thoroughly annoyed.
If he got "marinated" like this, would he even be able to show his face in public anymore?!
This...
Just as Whitebeard was struggling to keep it together, Vir spoke up reassuringly:
"It’s fine! It’s fine! The smell won’t last long!"
(Just a month or two, at most.)
He didn’t say that last part out loud.
He was afraid Whitebeard would kill him.
Hearing this, Whitebeard breathed a deep sigh of relief.
He had just been about to stop Vir from continuing.
The intensity was simply too much.
He was struggling to endure it.
But thankfully, it wouldn’t last long.
That, at least, was acceptable.
As he spoke, Vir had already begun his assault on Whitebeard’s lungs.
Right from the start, his technique earned everyone’s approval.
After adjusting for a while, they could even barely keep their eyes open now.
They immediately focused intently on the procedure.
Vir’s massage was extremely professional!
As his hands moved, a hint of relief appeared on Whitebeard’s face.
"Ohhh~"
Whitebeard exhaled deeply, releasing a cloud of murky breath.
Vir had only been massaging for a few seconds, but Whitebeard could already feel a significant reduction in the pain in his lungs!
This realization didn't just bring him joy—it shocked him.
This brat... actually had real skill!
The massage truly had an effect on him!
At that moment, Whitebeard was fully convinced.
Vir's medical skills were no joke!
The others could also clearly see that the fine cracks in Whitebeard’s lungs were slowly diminishing!
This discovery filled everyone with excitement!
Their emotions were far more intense than Whitebeard’s himself!
Vir!
This guy, Vir!
With eyes full of excitement, they all stared at Vir’s focused expression.
In their hearts, they had already decided to give him a massive bear hug later!
Damn it! This guy had real talent!
There’s hope for Pops!
Even Namur, who had just been yelling at Vir, was thinking about how to apologize!
At this moment, he only felt overwhelming gratitude toward Vir!
But just when everything seemed to be heading in the right direction...
The most unexpected turn of events occurred!
It wasn't Whitebeard.
It wasn't that his condition had suddenly worsened.
It was something Vir had mentioned from the very start...
His technique!
Vir's massage technique was becoming more and more unrestrained!
At first, he had been gently kneading Whitebeard’s still somewhat vibrant lungs in a rhythmic motion.
But as time passed...
Vir gradually began to add percussive strikes.
At first, they were gentle.
But the longer it went on, the stranger things became!
Vir’s hands were lifting higher and higher!
The eyes of the entire Whitebeard Pirates crew widened further and further!
At first, there were only faint smacking sounds.
But before long—
Boom!
Boom~!!
Boom~!!!
The intervals between the sounds grew longer, but the impact grew stronger!
Whitebeard’s eyes were now bulging in rage!
He was staring daggers at Vir, who had already begun jumping into the air!
Feeling the intense pain radiating from his lungs, he was breaking down once again!
It wasn’t that it hurt!
It was just that Vir’s manner of doing things completely threw him off!
Brat!
Didn’t we agree on a massage?
Why are you like this now?
Not only are you pounding away, but you’re even jumping now?!
If it weren’t for the fact that his lungs, under such violent treatment, weren’t deteriorating but actually improving...
Whitebeard would have already cleaved Vir’s head in two with a single strike!
But this posture of his was truly terrifying.
Calling him an assassin would be an understatement.
Those repeated shouts of "ORA" made Whitebeard’s lungs ache in more ways than one!
"ORA! ORA! ORA!"
Vir’s voice grew louder with each motion.
By the end, he was practically roaring!
His fists swung in larger arcs!
The impacts became more and more thunderous!
If Whitebeard’s body weren’t naturally resilient, Vir wouldn’t have dared to go all out like this!
He was controlling his strength carefully.
The cracks were steadily decreasing, and Whitebeard’s lungs were improving.
If he had continued using the initial gentle technique, it wouldn’t have been effective anymore.
He had to keep increasing the force until all the cracks disappeared!
But he wouldn’t actually break Whitebeard.
His technique was still incredibly professional.
Each impact landed on the most precise spots.
With expert technique, there was no way Whitebeard would suffer any real harm.
As Vir’s voice grew louder, the crew members started to feel uneasy.
Fear crept into their expressions as they listened to the booming echoes of Vir’s strikes!
Paired with the current scene...
If someone said they were filming a horror movie, no one would doubt it in the slightest!
But soon—
"HOLY SHIT! HE’S USING BOTH HANDS NOW!!"
"BOTH HANDS WITH A LEAP?! DID 'ORA' JUST TURN INTO 'MUDA'?!"
"DAMN! FORGET 'MUDA'! IT’S GETTING EVEN MORE BRUTAL!"
"ELBOW STRIKE! IT’S AN ELBOW STRIKE! HE’S ACTUALLY USING HIS ELBOW NOW!"
"JUMPING ELBOW! THAT’S A JUMPING ELBOW! WHAT KIND OF MASSAGE TECHNIQUE IS THIS? IS HE TRYING TO BEAT THE LIFE BACK INTO HIM?!"
One exclamation after another, a crowd of people biting their fingers and trembling—all of them were acknowledging Vir's 'treatment' methods.
As time passed, Vir’s massage was finally reaching its end!
At this point, ordinary pounding was no longer effective.
The lung had already improved significantly from when it was first taken out!
The terrifying cracks had mostly disappeared.
But there were still quite a few remaining.
Seeing this, Vir didn’t panic at all.
He had long anticipated this situation.
But first, he needed to catch his breath.
Massaging was actually quite exhausting.
Seeing Vir suddenly stop, everyone thought the treatment was finally over.
Just as they were rejoicing that Pops had been saved—
Vir, who had just paused, suddenly leaped high into the air again!
Then, a perfect elbow strike came crashing down!
"What the hell? Why is he still smashing down? I thought it was over."
"This should be the last one, right?"
The group that had just breathed a sigh of relief tensed up once again.
But they had already witnessed this scene several times.
So although they were nervous, they weren’t as shocked anymore.
But then—
During his descent, Vir’s elbow suddenly radiated an incredibly deep black color!
The moment this black hue appeared, everyone instantly noticed it!
Their eyes widened to the extreme!
Their mouths gaped open uncontrollably!
"HOLY SHIT—HE’S USING ARMAMENT HAKI NOW?!"
The crowd erupted in exclamations once again.
But the most stunned of all was the patient himself—Whitebeard.
Watching Vir’s slightly twisted expression and the thick Armament Haki hardening his elbow, a rare look of confusion crossed Whitebeard’s face.
'...Wait a damn minute.'
He began to recall.
Carefully recall.
'When exactly did I offend this bastard?!'
'Why does a massage require the use of such thick Armament Haki!?'
'I’ve lived for so many years!'
'This is the first time I’ve ever heard of a treatment requiring Armament Haki, dammit!'
'Are you kidding me?!'
However, given the remarkable effects of Vir’s treatment so far, Whitebeard did not stop him.
More importantly, he did not sense any hostility from Vir.
That was the key reason he allowed Vir to proceed.
Soon—
Boom!!
With a loud bang, the sturdy table supporting Whitebeard’s lung shattered instantly!
And after taking this final blow, Whitebeard suddenly sat up straight!
That’s right.
He couldn’t control it.
He just shot up like a spring.
He could truly feel every sensation coming from his lungs.
At the moment Vir’s elbow strike landed—
An indescribable mix of numbness, soreness, and overwhelming relief surged through his entire body!
That numbing feeling made him sit up involuntarily!
His face twisted through a rapid cycle of pain and euphoria, unable to settle on a single expression.
At this moment, Vir saw that the remaining stubborn cracks were slowly fading, and he finally relaxed.
The cracks had been fading for a while, but they hadn’t completely disappeared.
A few still remained.
Those would have to be treated with medicine over time.
Massage alone couldn’t make them vanish entirely.
[Ding! Congratulations, Host! You’ve earned 500,000 negative points!]
Another hefty sum of Negative Points entered his account.
These days, every system notification brought nothing but joy.
Vir slowly turned his head, planning to ask Whitebeard how he was feeling.
But as soon as he turned, he locked eyes with Whitebeard, who was sitting unnaturally straight with an utterly speechless expression!
At such a close distance, Vir was genuinely startled!
"Gah! The hell, old man?! Are you zombie or something?!"
He nearly jumped out of his skin.
Whitebeard was sitting bolt upright, staring at him with an utterly done expression—way too close for comfort.
Normally, he would knock his patients out with a brick.
So he never really paid attention to their reactions during treatment.
Whitebeard’s sudden movement genuinely spooked him.
Whitebeard, however, just sighed deeply.
"I scared YOU?!"
"That Armament Haki elbow of yours nearly blasted a hole through my lungs! If anything, I should be the one yelling! What kind of insane doctor treats patients like this?! Who the hell would willingly let you operate on them?!"
Whitebeard genuinely could not understand.
This... technique.
Anyone else would’ve bolted the second they saw him winding up for an elbow drop!
The only reason Whitebeard endured it was because of his monstrous pain tolerance!
