Introducing $15K Milestone: Full Page Art
🕑 Added 2015-08-06 23:28:23 +0000 UTC You all took us by surprise when you helped us rocket past the $12k milestone so quickly, but we're ready to announce the next milestone! We wanted a milestone that would let us give back to our viewers AND show a little extra love for our artists, so at $15k we are going to start commissioning full page, high resolution art for each series. It's extra money for our artists and extra art for you! We also love that we'll be able to showcase what our artists can REALLY do when we give them the time to create full page pieces.
Above, you can see a very early teaser for the Admiral Yi series. I wanted to give you some idea of what the full page art reward might look like, but this is actually just an image that David made for the episode - David is AMAZING like that. If we can hit the next milestone, we'll get to share art like this all the time!

Well, we were just talking to Youtube about improvements they're looking to make to their subtitles program. I'm definitely with you on wanting to see more subtitles made available for the show, and I'll look into this as a future milestone!

Glad you like it!

My pleasure! David made sure we'll be starting off the Admiral Yi series in style.

I hope so, because I'd love to be able to make this art available more often!

Up to the artist! I imagine there will be a bit of both, depending on how they feel they can best represent the series.

I'm so on board with this idea.

Just for clarification - Will these full page artworks be in the EC/EH housestyle of beanpeople, or in their personal style?
Nessf
Well - the patronage has only gone up with every series so far, so it probably won't be Too long before this goal is met.

Wow stunning artwork! Very well made! I'm amazed by the overall perspective the picture has. Thanks for sharing :)

I love what you're doing here. Seriously, you are my favourite Youtube channel by a large margin, but there has always been a little something that frustrates me - the language barrier. Since it looks like you guys are only going up I have a suggestion for a new milestone that will potentially smash your audience reach into a new park: Curated subtitles. Quality subtitles that capture not just the meaning but the tone and feeling of the EH videos. Sure, English is widely understood at a conversational level, but the pace and content of EH just creates an impenetrable barrier for many non-native speakers. I would love to be able to share my joy of EH with my ESL friends, but the answer is often "No comprendo" or "不懂". While it might take a bit of time to find the ideal bilingual people, for a small slice of your budget you could potentially pay a small team to provide subtitles in, say, half a dozen languages. And that might even propel your Patreon base even further to the point where you have the cash to dub as well, but one thing at a time :)
