Well technically she's older than Goku so I can see why haha

He really should haha!

Ah thanks for the info dude, I didn't know about this. I always thought it was just both Toyotarou and Toriyama's decision to make him like this in Super haha.

We'll be introduced to a very important character next episode.

Gohan training/slacking off is a big push and pull between Toei, Toriyama and Toyotaro. Toei and Toriyama seem to want to sway the story towards Gohan slacking off, while Toyotaro pushes it into the direction that Gohan never slacked off. It’s complicated unfortunately. Gohan never stopped training in the Super manga at all (well, until Super Hero where he had to adapt Toriyama’s events, which included slacking off). In the manga, he was always competent and on his A-game, probably because Toyotaro is a massive Gohan fan

Mai never liked Kid Trunks. Even now that they grew up in the manga, she still doesn’t like him at all. She’s only after FT lol

Don’t forget, the Pilaf gang’s first appearance in OG DB was them building advanced tech. They even built their own Dragon Ball radar. They’re very smart
