'Legendary Sannin' - def worth keep that term in mind, mentioned today. They are pretty much telling us Orochimaru is 1 of 3 from that special stature.

generally the level of power/strength perceived in the battles we've seen this arc is typically relative to the Genin Rank only, as opposed to other classification levels (chunin, special jonin, jonin / Anbu Black Ops Ninja / S-Rank Rouge Ninja, kage etc). So what we're seeing in these exams are typically straight forward to a Chuunin, & childs play to a Jonin etc (for the most part at this stage). Of course there are special cases though (when you factor in special/forbidden abilities etc which act as a booster to such Genin's base power) 😎
