Yeah Lee was def prepared, but also most ninja actually know of the Sharingan, because the Uchiha Clan is Legendary, similar to how a lot of ninja know the reputation of Copy Ninja Kakashi (to an extent)

Rock Lee might seem silly but he’s actually the best hand to hand fighter amongst the genin. I suspect Rock Lee’s taijutsu is on the level of a jounin.
