this fight was never close to begin with. Cell was playing along out of boredom. you will see in later episodes that cell is still hiding his true full 100% power. Goku never stood a chance.

Funny how Goku falls back and does exactly what Vegeta does when he’s almost out of power/losing. Ki blast spamming rarely ever works in this show haha. Unless it’s against an equal or weaker opponent of course.

It would've been hilarious if Cell lost his regen ability right after Goku nuked him. Cell would still be kickin' at least. But if he pulled an Oblivion zombie noise, you vaporize that thing on the spot! (which is what they should've done). His rumbling before he sprouted a new head *giggity* was gross af 😫 And Vegeta gave props to Goku here. Noice. "Let's watch and see what he will do!" Goku: "I give up!" Cell & Geets: "Dafuq did he just say!?" 🧐

Just like a lot of other moments they drag it out a lot more in the anime for suspense/to fill in more time for the episode. I could be wrong but I think Cell regenerates much faster in the manga. So I don’t think Goku really had a chance to blast his remains.
