🕑 Added 2024-06-19 00:08:05 +0000 UTCThis was a tough pose, guys!- I fought to find a silhouette that worked, as well as figuring out how to cleanly render the variety of overlapping shapes. In the end, cleverly placed shadows helped distinguish the overlapping shapes and push the receding ones back in space.
Overall, I'm not superrr happy with this character, but it was a great exercise in rendering a slightly more complex pose.
I've attached a GIF that breaks down the Flats>Shadows>Ambient Occlusion passes to show how much heavy-lifting the shadows help to clarify parts like the skin, shirt, hair, and where in space these elements are relative to one-another.

Also, I wanted to say hi to all of the new members! I'm currently in the process of recording a color tutorial. I'm learning how to record/edit videos and I can't wait to share it with you guys.
