Thanks for the chapter.

TYFTC! It sounds like a bit of a conflict of interest that one professor sets the maze, and then also has a team in it. I do wonder what other items/equipment they have to allow them to keep from getting tired and dismantle the golem so quickly.

the hesitation to identify them is nonsense storywriting, but regarding the rest i think you are having "our world bias". Remember Asturs speech, he does not care about the students safety. only about outcomes

Not sure why Rob is hesitating to use identify on Astur's students. Their status seems off, no wear despite having gotten ten (plus however many the golem just dropped). More skilled than you'd expect first years to be. Something is off, and Identify could lead to some understanding of what. Perhaps Astur replaced a few of his students with body doubles, I'm sure there exists a disguise skill out there, and had them focus on wearing down and ousting Rob's students. Continuing the exam, despite the presence of multiple corrupted creatures is unacceptable, at least without finding the source of the corruption. This is the heart of the Academy for god's sake, there should be no corruption here. And if corrupted creatures are really uncontrollable, then it's actively putting student lives at risk, unlike the vines which just eject them from the maze. The fact Astur is continuing the exam despite all this shows a willful ignorance, or worse, malicious intent, willing to risk students' lives like this. If Astur was directly responsible for the corrupted creatures being added (despite no one apparently training first year cadets with corrupted creatures) I am going to be absolutely livid, regardless of the outcome of the exam. On an unrelated note: do the students need to use the actual exits when they form, or do they just need to get out of the maze? Additionally, and maybe relatedly, does getting ejected via vinewall automatically fail the student/do the vine walls leave whatever totems they were carrying behind in the maze? If the vine walls don't remove the totems, and being ejected via vine wall doesn't automatically disqualify the student, then a clever cadet could just let themselves be ejected once they have enough totems. Though I suppose they don't necessarily know that the walls are ejecting students outside the maze, for all they know they are being held somewhere deeper in, or just within the walls themselves, to be retrieved after the test is done. Perhaps the idea of being trapped in the vine walls is part of the perceived danger, the claustrophobia of being stuck, tightly wound in vines, unable to escape your leafy prison.

no support no unveiling -> but failing a lot of his cadets he could be forced to go home sooner, and even if Roberts cadets are all expelled he could make space for them in his household guard. Win Win for everyone

Just wondering, what do you think the odds are that those "small sun emblem embroidered on their shoulder pads" are enchanted with stamina and mana regeneration or something like that? I hope Robert takes a closer look for something like that.

Jouni Osmala

It would be interesting to see Asturs reaction if he looses 5 of his top cadets by 11 cadets ganging up 2 of them or 1 of them. Basically, showing the absolute randomness of his testing method.

Makyura

Uh oh. Its not looking great for the boys. I'm continuing my extended chunin exam and am pulling a Gaara parallel with the corruption and have decided astur students are the sound 4 team

I Dare Korval

Astur and his students are cheating??? No surprise there, considering he made the maze. This reaks to high heaven. I hope Robert exposes him, but that would probably not lead to anything good unless the Prince was there.
