3am in the morning on the station - redundant, it should be either "3am on the station" or "three in the morning on the station"

How would her friends get that? Alex already sent a message to her friends many many chapters ago. Even that has not reached them yet and that was just pure data encoded in the banking software license she bought for SR.

Döner macht schöner, auf Dauer auch schlauer.

IFRB court will have a Problem when they find out the King of the Race Alex is accused of abusing is her son and his wife her Checkers Game Partner! LMAO! Oh and his DeathStar.

This reminds me. Was the Packet Boat that was captured the same one that Alex sent with the report to the IFRB? Did they ever get her message with her version of events, or was it all "sanitized" by the Corpos before ever arriving at the IFRB? EDIT: ACTUALLY. All this aside, the news bulletin of Alex would be a potential way for her friends in 92 Pegasi to learn of her whereabouts.

I'd be way more concerned that somebody thought it was a good idea to subvert sensor surveillance in a military facility. That sounds like felony tampering with national security assets.

"She’d gone on her own, without telling anyone, which was a breach of protocol worse than going and getting food at what amounted to 3 am in the morning on the station." At least it's not Nigerians defending Maga country !

Not how modern journalism works, but I still enjoyed it regardless. Reminds me of when I was younger and naïve to how the world works. Though I second the kebab-issue. Ruining someone's food they've been looking forward to is high treason. I'm honestly baffled that the officer didn't look up the rules before starting a charade against an NAI. That seems like the first thing I'd do. Funny that those incidents are coming back to bite her when she single-handedly defended the system against a probing/scouting-detachment using nothing more than an ancient corvette. In a battle that put her at a horrendous disadvantage on every conceivable level. Even if this was just a PR-stunt he likely got his intel from refugees who fled before the battle or had no idea what happened in orbit. A modern-day equivalent would be to put an F-22 up against a Vietnam-war era navy-fleet with a carrier, cruisers and destroyers. With the fleet's victory-condition being to just eliminate a few ww2-era costal defenses and the town behind them. It'd be doable, maybe, but nobody would take a fight like that if they had the choice to retreat. Meaning that she didn't consider it a choice to retreat. Putting yourself in a position of terrible odds to protect people you don't know, at least deserves the respect of not being used for terrible PR-stunts. ... even in a trial for war crimes. (Maybe? Probably?).

Wasn't Alex the one who sent the report they're trying to arrest her over? This looks very much like an attempt to discredit the big bad NAI to me instead of a serious investigation. Or do they getting all their info from the 'version of events' the Corpo Spy (forgot his name, the one with the ambigous relationship with Elis) distributed? Alex' Message should have gotten back to them earlier, shouldn't it?

I really like this chapter - always fun to see an overripe bigwig get his rear handed to him

"Ambushing me near my home I can live with, but you RUINED MY KEBABS!"

Andrew Puterbaugh

THE KEBABS! NOT THE KEBABS!
