Tavon Runecaster

no, they are referring to meltis having a civil war, i think.

M. Lampi

Minor nit: “That would cause a global war,” Veliana stated flatly. Given that this is a galactic civilization, perhaps this might be better: “That would cause a galactic war,” Veliana stated flatly.

Treviisolion

Yea, there are definitely limits to what the human meat computer can do, even augmented.

Treviisolion

All 4 of them seem to intentionally create dystopian civilizations intended to keep the humans and lower NAIs in check. The 4 just have different methods to do so. The Imperials use enforced classism i.e. noble ranks and feudal society, to keep order. The Ertran use the desire for spiritual experience to manipulate people into line. The Corpos use the carrot and stick method by creating a very juicy carrot and very hard stick to keep everyone working as hard for the carrot. And the Solarians seem to favor intentionally hostile bureaucracy to keep people focused on improving the system rather than overthrowing it. They’re all terrible tbh. All 4 have the tech (even without NAIs and replicators and whatnot) to create very powerful, very prosperous, and very happy empires. They have the computing power to figure out the best way to take their chosen systems of maintaining power and optimize it for happiness. Instead they seem to be optimizing for some other factor, and humanity is lucky that the “optimized” solution still allows them a decent lifestyle.

Nameless is talking about analyzing just Tia's neural pattern history.

adr

Hard to say. Even if she didn't, would that be functionally different than rebuilding/simulating the persona from Tia's memories? The only change I can foresee is that Livi would remember things that Tia never knew.

Unknown

The disturbings of Tia's shipcore taking on the persona of her late servant aside. I do see the benefits of shifting to be more like Alex and nameless. As Tia said nameless is taking a good potion of the work and Alex is not showing the same mental stain that Tia is showing.

Jonathan Wint

Are the Ertran really religious fanatics? They might be I agree but they may alternatively be Anmists or Buddhists. We just do not know yet.

carebear90

So... you think there is no chance that some small parts of Livi 'survived' when Celestia absorbed her?

Erios909

Yeah, you're right on all those. Thanks I fixed veliana's sentence You can tell the difference between Tia's MainComputer and Nameless because it uses \ / symbols in its preface text, while Nameless uses a single word

Chakwak

To be fair, the drop and run on Dedia was made by a Corpo Asset leading the Solarian. All the other Solarian around seemed to think there was something wrong with the move.

Aphanvahrius

Oh, I know, why I wrote that separately 😄We'll see what Tia MainComputer will be like, but it looks promising 🙂

Dan Nicolae Barzu

love that alex is an info warning.

Dan Nicolae Barzu

per earlier comment from erios909 "the AI messages with / \ are from Tia's MainComputer, not Nameless :o"

Cyell

Now i wait for the Moment, where the Imperials and Meltisar end in a War because of the destroyed Datapad and the insults on "SS Rank Villainess"

Cyell

Well the Solarians just dropt the Settlers in the Hive on Dedia and let them die there, (and they locked up Lavigne and the crew of the Hit Rescue) but besides of that we didn't hear anything else. We only know that the have done similiar things :D But I'm with you, that the Solarians are actuall the "best" to allie with.

Veliana rested her hand on her chin, intrigued by Talisa’s suggestion. “Really? I didn’t think you’d be the one to propose that idea. Isn’t your Empress still demanding Celestia’s head after her escape?” Talisa shot Veliana a hostile glance. “The Empress does not scream. The princess caused chaos when she left, and her mother was particularly peeved over the deaths of some of her siblings. However, she has recognized that returning the princess to the fold is a higher priority than punishment. We can offer the same triumvirate pact to Meltisar. That will make bending the other two factions to our needs much easier. We’ll have three of the five votes on the council.” --------------------------- So... I'm not sure why Talisa says that the 'Empress does not scream' here. Was the original statement from Veliana something like 'your Empress is still screaming for Celestia's head' by any chance? Also: Is there a marker hidden somewhere when Livi speaks and when Nameless speaks? I was slightly confused. Are Livi's parts only those that start with [Info\...]?

Lijwent

How does the part about the historical analysis of psi upgrade work? Is nameless talking about psi NAI from the Entity?

TheOne320

On my opinion the Imperial faction is the most balanced. Ertran are religious fanatics, Solarian are extreme communists and Corpos are a dystopian corpo faction. The empire appears to be the most “normal” with an over privileged leadership.

Grissly1000

Glory to Omega!

adr

Tia's maincomputer found a gap in her emotional armor and is filling it in like kintsugi.

Wulvenclave

I don’t know about anyone else, but the solarians are my faction of choice to ally with at the moment. We haven’t really been given any reason to dislike them. Maybe that’s the idea. Guess we’ll have to wait to see how this all pans out.

Erios909

the AI messages with / \ are from Tia's MainComputer, not Nameless :o

Aphanvahrius

Also, I absolutely love how a specified Alex/Warning is now a thing lol
