In one part, I agree with you. In another, you have to remember, Elijah is not a very sociable person. Despite appearances, 90% of the time he has been alive after the integration, he has been alone in one form or another. He does not have the mental facilities to deal with such things, which I think is going to be one of the reasons why he will struggle with the last few stages of mind cultivation.

Got to admit... His 'reasoning' not to look into possible corruption in the Heartwood Foundation is CHILDISH and completely ridiculous. Just say, you don't want to find out if your friends and allies are horrible people who may need to be dealt with. I thought he was a 'MAN', not a child. I thought he was a 'DRAGON, not a worm! Bro... that kind of thinking, is weak af! # disappointed. 2 steps forward, 3 steps backward, character development moment, right here. SMGDH. ------------------------ But IF we apply that weak sauce thinking to Sadie's organization, then it would be easy to see how some of her members would be corrupted by a place like 'Meridian Lux'. I guess, she didn't want to 'look too closely' either.

Atticus working a dirt shop made his most valuable investment by befriending Elijah he now has a connection to cheap goods. A connection to the favored daughter of a transcendent not to mention to the first fang of the empire of scale. His markets grow the green mountain emporium don’t even know what happened.

I hope in further visits along Earth we can stop seeing Elijah mentioning how much Argos, Iron Shore, etc. had changed since he first visited the city. Elijah was just there only a few short years ago, and maybe more of those changed should be highlighted. We already know that it's changed a lot.
