This is a valid observation, what happens when a populist politician gets elected on a 'no business with the druid' platform? Only to find the city is tied to him financially from back before anyone currently alive was born? Its gonna make it that much for difficult to keep Elijah tied to the place.

I wonder if Elijah realizes there could be a big headache when ramik is no longer mayor, he relies on him and almost no one knows him and clearly ironshore a citizens have mixed feelings about him
