Chapter 287: Sony and DreamWorks Collaboration
🕑 Added 2025-01-31 17:46:33 +0000 UTCHow do we measure the strength of Warner Bros in promoting the Harry Potter series? In fact, the most intuitive way is the popularity of the series in the absence of other products, it is nothing more than the sales of the novels.
Before Duke Studio and Warner Bros. established the Harry Potter Studio, "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" sold more than 30,000 copies in nearly a year. After that, the Harry Potter Studio began to mobilize all the forces it could mobilize - for example, this was not the first time that Duke had stood up for the Harry Potter series - from book reviewers to various rankings to major media, all to promote this work. In just a few months, "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" sold nearly 400,000 copies, and this was just the beginning. The market effect will only be truly reflected after some time.
No one can deny that capital and media groups have enormous influence in this country and even in the entire Western world. Capital is born for the pursuit of profit. When this series showed enough potential, the giant Time Warner also joined in.
Even Duke didn't know how they managed to convince the National Association of Teachers and Parents to list the two Harry Potter volumes as recommended extracurricular reading materials.
In the special issue of The New York Times, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone has quietly made it onto the bestseller list, with several famous book reviewers strongly recommending it...
Also, after the event in Los Angeles, Time Warner prepared a special train for Joanna Rowling to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, departing from King's Cross Station and passing through all the important cities in the British Isles, launching a grand promotional and signing event.
In addition, Warner is vigorously promoting this work in all English-speaking countries.
Even Duke has to admit that literature or film and television works that are popular in the English-speaking countries often become world-class works and can easily influence other countries and regions. After all, today's society is a world dominated by Western culture.
As long as Harry Potter breaks out in the English-speaking area, the rest will no longer be a problem.
In a subsequent interview, Duke naturally spoke highly of Joanna Rowling on a matter that concerned his own interests.
"Jo is a very admirable writer and a true hero. In such a difficult situation, she was able to create such outstanding works. She is an inspirational legend in our lives."
What Duke said to the reporter is excellent material for publicity. How could the Harry Potter studio let it go? Using Joanna Rowling's experience, using the media to create an image project, and thus promoting the work by promoting the author, this is a very common publicity method.
Duke was well prepared for the promotion meeting, and then he brought up a heavyweight topic, "I think Ms. Joanna Rowling's experience is a very suitable subject. From the moment I learned about it, I was very excited. If I have the opportunity in the future, I would like to personally make an inspirational film about Ms. Rowling."
After saying this, the reporters surrounding Duke almost went crazy. With his current status in Hollywood, he could make a biographical movie for someone. Even if the other person was an unknown person, he would probably be famous all over the United States.
Some things should be said in moderation. After saying this, Duke talked to the reporters about some topics related to The Matrix. Then he chose to withdraw temporarily.
"Are you really going to make a biopic about Joanna Rowling?"
Back in the banquet hall, Charlize Theron came up to me and asked, "You're not serious, are you?"
"The news spread so fast?" Duke didn't respond to her.
"This news is too sensational." Charlize Theron rolled her eyes calmly, "I'm afraid that the moment you said it, it spread to every corner of the banquet hall."
Charlize Theron is not stupid. She knows that Duke will not tell her the answer if she asks him, so she simply pulled him to the rest area nearby.
"Are you here specifically for this series of novels?"
After sitting down, Charlize handed Duke a glass of champagne and asked, "Is it really that good? As far as I remember, this isn't your first time?"
"I've invested a lot of money in it." Duke picked up the champagne, took a sip with Charlize, and casually replied, "No one wants to see their investment fail. If I recommend it, it will always have some effect."
"It's more than just some effect."
Looking at Duke, Charlize Theron muttered, "Ever since Titanic became a big hit this year, the media has been hyping that you, James Cameron, and Steven Spielberg are the three major directors in Hollywood in the 1990s."
"Don't take what the media says seriously." Duke didn't care at all.
Charlize Theron ignored him and continued, "The work you solemnly recommend will definitely attract a lot of attention."
This beautiful diamond was obviously trying to please him. Duke took the glass, took a sip, and said nothing more.
He had completed his mission at the promotion meeting and had no intention of staying here long. He said hello to Jeff Robinov, ignored the cameras pointed at him by the media reporters, and walked out of the hotel with Charlize Theron.
Anyway, he has long been known as a playboy, so it's no big deal for him to bring a female companion to an event.
After driving around North Hollywood, Duke shook off the paparazzi following him and headed towards Malibu, heading home to pick up Charlize Theron.
When they arrived in the west of Burbank, Charlize Theron suddenly suggested, "Come over to my place tonight."
Duke turned his head and looked at her, without hesitation, "Okay."
The Bentley soon stopped in front of the villa rented by Charlize Theron. Duke got out of the car and followed her in. It was not his first time here. This place was not far from Malibu, and he would occasionally come here to spend the night.
Charlize helped Duke take off his formal jacket, kicked off her high heels, and walked barefoot to the stereo. Knowing Duke's preferences, she picked out a specially prepared record, put it in and pressed the play button, and soothing piano music floated in the air.
"Would you like something to drink?"
Charlize asked.
"Just clean water."
Duke has never been interested in alcoholic drinks. He took the glass from Charlize and took a sip. "Aren't you planning to move?"
"I don't want to move." She came over and sat next to Duke. "It's closer to you here."
Looking at those blinking eyes, Duke reached out and lifted her chin, ignoring her previous topic. This kind of nonsense must not be taken seriously.
"Sally, you are getting more and more beautiful."
After saying that, Duke took the initiative to kiss those two red lips, and a flexible tongue also immediately slipped into his mouth.
While tasting Charlize's tongue, Duke grabbed her slender waist and slowly moved one hand upwards, gently rubbing it through the satin-smooth dress.
The other one reached down, lifted the hem of the dress, and grabbed the most seductive straight long legs of Charlize's body.
Charlize's hands were also not idle. Not only did she flexibly unbutton Duke's shirt and help him take it off, she also pulled out the belt from his waist at lightning speed...
Duke turned over and pressed Charlize on the sofa. he was about to unbutton her dress, but was stopped by Charlize.
She put her flexible tongue into Duke's ear hole, swirled it around, and then said, "Don't you think I'm the most beautiful when I'm wearing clothes?"
As she said this, she gently pushed Duke away, and Duke looked at her with great interest.
Charlize walked to the entrance of the room and put on her four-inch high heels again, making the most of her height and long legs. She used her strictly trained cat steps to sway back to the sofa where Duke was sitting, moved a chair over and sat opposite him.
"Do you like me now?" She raised her eyebrows.
Duke crossed his arms, held his chin with one hand, and looked at her without saying anything.
Charlize's crossed legs suddenly moved, and her skirt was lifted up as her long legs moved, revealing the scenery under the dress.
Then, she stretched out a finger and gently wiped it between her bright red lips, then slid it down across her white chin, slender neck, towering breasts and flat belly...
Seeing this, Duke slowly stood up. If he could still hold back at this time, he was definitely not a normal man.
Charlize Theron also stood up. She turned around, leaned on the back of the chair, lifted her skirt, posed in the sexiest posture, and turned to smile at Duke.
"!"
Duke pounced on her without her invitation.
This is the longest bed partner I have had with Duke. The two of them are familiar with each other and have a tacit understanding of each other. They can always easily stimulate each other's most sensitive and exciting parts, and they also know what methods can bring the greatest pleasure to both parties.
It's a long night, and a fierce battle has just begun.
The city of Burbank is known as the media capital of the world. Not only do newly famous young stars like Charlize Theron live here, but even big directors like Steven Spielberg have purchased residences here.
About five miles north of Charlize Theron's villa is the wealthy community of Burbank, where most of the residents are big shots or celebrities in the business or Hollywood circles. Spielberg's residence in Burbank is here.
Normally, this residence is rarely open, but tonight it is brightly lit. Spielberg deliberately chose this place to entertain an old friend whom he has not seen for a long time - perhaps the word old friend is not appropriate, it should be his long-lost former agent.
"Michael."
Sitting under the palm trees in the garden, the two seemed like old friends, but there was always a sense of distance in Spielberg's words, "I didn't expect that after going full circle, you would return to the agent circle."
Having been here for a while, Michael Ovitz decided to get straight to the point, "Steven, I'm here for Deep Impact which you produced, and Godzilla, which I represented. We have a common competitor!"
