Chapter 130: New Members of Team 2
🕑 Added 2024-12-25 17:57:05 +0000 UTCAt this moment, Yang Podi was alone in his house, taking out the priceless Hundred-thousand-year Blue Silver Emperor's right leg. There seemed to be a trace of reluctance, but in the end, he resisted the temptation and chose not to absorb it.
The Hundred-thousand-year Blue Silver Emperor's right leg was indeed extraordinary, but for Yang Podi, it seemed rather useless. With his second martial soul, he shouldn't lack such top-tier soul bones in the future.
The two soul skills from the Hundred-thousand-year Blue Silver Emperor's right leg were relatively disappointing. One was a flight skill, which was of no use to Yang Podi. A leg soul bone, no matter how it could fly, was far slower than wings.
The other skill, "Wildfires can't be blown out, spring winds blow again," sounded very useful and impressive, but for his full-body martial soul, the recovery energy was already overwhelming, making the high-value soul bone seem unnecessary.
In Yang Podi's eyes, the best choice for his legs would be a speed-type soul bone. This would make up for some of his shortcomings and also increase his strength.
After careful consideration, Yang Podi decided to hide the soul bone, placing it in a secret room in his house and even using a soul tool to keep it safe.
The value of this soul bone was too high, and its implications too large. If Tang Hao discovered it, things would be irreconcilable. Neither he nor the Breaking Clan wanted to face Tang Hao directly at this time.
The person most suited for this soul bone should be Ye Lingling. Her martial soul was the Nine-heart Sea Begonia, and as a plant-type soul master, it would greatly enhance her healing abilities. It could even give her a life-saving flight skill, making it perfect for her.
The next morning, everyone returned to the Heaven Dou Royal Academy, ready for the next round of training, as planned by Yang Podi.
When everyone gathered, the two teachers seemed puzzled as they didn't see Talon and Bai Xiaofei.
Yang Podi looked at the two teachers and the team members—Dugu Yan, Ye Lingling, and the others—and spoke directly, "Teacher Li, Talon and Bai Xiaofei have left the second team. Don't worry about them anymore. I'll handle the team member issue myself."
Teacher Li still seemed a bit regretful, "It's a pity. Both were close to becoming Soul Ancestor, especially Bai Xiaofei. He was the only flight-type soul master among us and the only speed attack-type soul master."
"Teacher Li, don't worry. Whether it's me or Yang Ping'an, we may be power-type soul masters, but our speed is not slow at all. We can also take on speed attack roles."
Currently, the second team consisted of only six people—Yang Podi, Yang Ping'an, Duguyan, Ye Lingling, Yang Tianyue, and Niu Meng—one person less than the seven required for the competition. Moreover, Yang Podi himself didn't plan to participate in the preliminary or promotion rounds, so they still needed two more members.
As for their strength, Yang Podi didn't have any particular thoughts. Even without him participating, with Yang Ping'an, Duguyan, and Ye Lingling, there was no pressure. Moreover, the preliminary rounds were a good training opportunity, and having everyone participate in more battle soul competitions would be excellent for experience.
Yang Podi turned to Niu Meng, "Does your Breaking Clan have any soul masters under the age of 25 who are at the Soul Elder or Soul Ancestor level?"
Niu Meng thought for a moment, "I have a cousin who is 22 years old, but only at level 35."
"Level 35 at 22 years old? That's barely enough. Tell your grandfather to bring him to the Heaven Dou Royal Academy tomorrow."
Yang Podi then turned to Yang Tianyue and Yang Ping'an and said, "I remember the third elder's grandson from the Breaking Clan is also 22 years old and level 36. Am I remembering that correctly?"
Yang Tianyue, who had spent a lot of time in the family, knew the cousins better than Yang Podi did, "Brother, the third elder's grandson is indeed 22 and level 36. Do you want him to come over?"
"Alright, tell him to come tomorrow."
Teacher Li still seemed puzzled, "Podi, normally, a team has seven main members and can choose four substitutes. Even if we add these two, it's only eight people. Shouldn't we add more people?"
"Heaven Dou Royal Academy's advanced classes have many high-level Soul Elder, and we could use soul masters from support, speed attack, or control systems. Wouldn't it be better to add a few more members? That way, our tactics will be stronger."
Yang Podi shook his head, "For the preliminary and promotion rounds, I want everyone to participate in as many matches as possible. It's the best way to accumulate experience."
"With Ye Lingling and Teacher Anya in our team, we can handle the intensity of the soul battle competitions."
Yang Podi seemed to have thought of something and turned to Teacher Li again, "Teacher Li, once the two of them arrive tomorrow, we'll immediately begin the next phase of training."
Teacher Li seemed curious, "The next phase of training? What do you plan to do for their training?"
"Life-or-death training. Normal training no longer has much effect. Even meditation is not as effective. I plan to take everyone to the Sunset Forest for training."
Teacher Li was taken aback, "They're only Soul Elders now. Isn't the Sunset Forest too dangerous? I think it's better to let them participate in more soul battle competitions; that's a good form of training too."
Yang Podi shook his head, "There aren't many high-level Soul Elders teams at the Heaven Dou Grand Soul Arena, and even if they win, it's not very helpful for training. It's better to take everyone to the Sunset Forest, where they can see blood, experience life-and-death battles, and build trust and camaraderie among teammates."
Teacher Li still seemed worried, "I feel the Sunset Forest is too dangerous. What if something happens?"
"Teacher Li, you don't need to worry about the danger. You and Teacher Anya will mainly accompany us, and I will arrange for people to provide secret protection."
Teacher Li felt a little more relieved after hearing that there would be secret protection.
The next day, two members from the Breaking Clan and the Defense Clan arrived at the Heaven Dou Royal Academy. Although they were both 22 years old, meaning they were essentially ready to graduate, they were sent to the academy by their family elders, still somewhat bewildered.
Thanks to Teacher Li's advance notice, they entered the academy without any obstacles.
After arriving, they went directly to the third training field to meet up with the rest of the team.
The member from the Breaking Clan was Yang Yuxuan, the third elder's grandson. His martial soul was the Breaking Soul Spear, and he was 22 years old with a Soul Power of level 35.
The member from the Defense Clan was Niu Kui, a cousin of one of the Defense Clan elders. His martial soul was the Plated-clad Giant Rhinoceros, and he was also 22 years old with a Soul Power of level 35. Niu Kui appeared very tall, standing at 2.2 meters, with a heavily muscular build that made him look like a middle-aged man.
Yang Podi spoke to the two newcomers, "Yang Yuxuan, Niu Kui, welcome to the second team of Heaven Dou Royal Academy. Our team's goal is simple: to win the championship in next year's Soul Master Competition. For the next few days, follow Tianyue and get used to our team's training. After five days, we will go to the Sunset Forest for further training."
After that, Yang Podi didn't speak much to them. Yang Yuxuan followed Yang Ping'an, while Niu Kui followed Niu Meng to familiarize themselves with the academy's environment and the team's training intensity.
Yang Podi also asked Duguyan to invite Du Gu Bo, so that during the Sunset Forest training, they would have someone powerful to protect the team in case of danger. He considered DuGu Bo to be the best choice, as he was a Title Douluo. With him present, they would be prepared for any potential threats.
At this point, the happiest ones were probably the first team members. After Bai Xiaofei and Talon left the second team, they joined the first team.
Now, the first team had 16 members. Besides the original seven members, there were the seven from Shrek, and now Talon and Bai Xiaofei joined them, significantly boosting the team's strength. Given this development, next year's Soul Master Competition might see not just Yu Tianheng, Ning Feng, and Dai Mubai as Soul Ancestors but also Talon and Bai Xiaofei, who were nearing the peak of level 39 and soon to become Soul Ancestors. This would mean at least five Soul Ancestor in the team.
If Tang San and the others worked hard, the entire team might even be able to assemble a full squad of Soul Ancestor.
That afternoon, as Yang Podi was preparing for the upcoming training, Teacher Li came to notify him that the Crown Prince had summoned him.
Yang Podi sighed in exasperation. What was this little angel up to now? Wasn't he busy enough already?
However, when Yang Podi arrived at the Education Committee, he was instantly speechless.
Besides Crown Prince Xue Qinghe, the other three members of the committee were present, as well as Ning Fengzhi, Sword Douluo, Ning Rongrong, and even Tang San and Yu Xiaogang. Judging by Yu Xiaogang's expression, he seemed quite proud. Surprisingly, there was also a beautiful middle-aged woman sitting beside Yu Xiaogang, who, according to the original text, should be Liu Erlong.
Yang Podi was puzzled. Why was Liu Erlong here at the Heaven Dou Royal Academy? Wasn't she the headmaster of Blue Tyrant Academy?
He ignored Yu Xiaogang and, after greeting Crown Prince Xue Qinghe, Ning Fengzhi, Sword Douluo, and the others, sat down.
"Crown Prince, may I ask why you summoned me?"
Xue Qinghe smiled slightly, "It's nothing major. I heard that there was some issue with your second team, so I came to check on it."
Yang Podi, seeing Xue Qinghe's teasing expression, simply smiled and replied, "Thank you for your concern, Crown Prince. The second team did have a small issue, but it's already been resolved, and it won't affect the Soul Master Competition."
"But I've heard that two excellent team members left the second team. I'm worried that this could affect your team's performance in the Soul Master Competition."
"They just left for personal reasons. We've already replaced them, and the team's strength will be even greater than before."
Xue Qinghe seemed unconvinced, "But I heard that both of the members who left were about to become Soul Ancestors. The ones you replaced them with are just ordinary Soul Elder. I'm worried that this will weaken your strength, making the competition even more difficult."
Yang Podi sighed. This little angel was clearly trying to stir things up, "Crown Prince, that's not the case. The difference between Soul Elder and Soul Ancestors isn't as big as you think. When I was a Soul Elder, I defeated a Soul Ancestors. I believe our team is now stronger than ever. You'll see the result in the Soul Master Competition."
