Chapter 117: Returning to Heaven Dou Imperial Academy
🕑 Added 2024-12-25 17:49:32 +0000 UTCYang Podi, dressed in simple and plain clothes, returned home.
His mother, Niu Jinfeng, was overjoyed. "Podi, how are you feeling now? Can you control the killing intent in your body?"
Yang Podi smiled slightly. "Mom, I'm completely fine now. I plan to return to Heaven Dou Imperial Academy tomorrow since I haven't seen my team members in a long time."
"That's true. You've been away from the academy for almost three years. It's time to visit."
"Mom, I'll take Tianyue with me tomorrow. I'll help her enroll and have her live with Sister Yan and Sister Lingling. That should be relatively safer."
Niu Jinfeng thought for a moment. "Alright, that sounds good."
After resting at home for a day, Yang Podi set off with Yang Tianyue early the next morning, leaving the Breaking Clan.
Yang Tianyue was excited throughout the journey, especially when they entered Heaven Dou Imperial Academy. Everything there amazed her.
Yang Podi wasted no time and took Yang Tianyue directly to the administrative office for enrollment. Once registration was complete, he showed her around the entire academy, from the cafeteria to the mimicry training areas and dormitories.
In the afternoon, they went to the training ground.
When Yang Podi arrived at the training ground, the other six team members were training. Upon seeing Yang Podi, both their teacher, Li Xiang, and the team were overjoyed.
Especially Ye Lingling, whose eyes turned red as if she were about to cry. She nearly threw herself at Yang Podi.
Yang Podi smiled at everyone. "Hello, everyone. I spent the past three years training outside, and I've missed you all."
"You haven't been slacking off in your cultivation over these three years, have you?"
Teacher Li Xiang smiled warmly. "Podi, don't worry. Everyone has been training diligently. They're close to meeting your expectations."
Under Li Xiang's guidance, everyone reported their spirit power levels.
To everyone's surprise, Yang Ping'an had the highest level, reaching rank 47. Dugu Yan had reached rank 46, Ye Lingling was at rank 45, Niu Meng at rank 41, and both Tailong and Bai Xiaofei were at rank 39.
Compared to four years ago, when the Heaven Dou Imperial Academy Team One was first established, the average spirit power of the team had increased by over ten ranks. Yang Ping'an had improved the most, rising by 12 levels, while Dugu Yan, surprisingly, improved the least, with an increase of 10 levels from rank 36 to 46.
With nearly a year left before the next Continental Advanced Spirit Master Academy Elite Tournament, it was likely that everyone would become Spirit Ancestors, and Yang Ping'an might even have a chance to break through to Spirit King. However, Dugu Yan's breakthrough seemed less likely.
Yang Podi turned to Li Xiang and said, "Teacher Li Xiang, this is my younger sister, Yang Tianyue. She enrolled today. Please make arrangements for her to join the Heaven Dou Imperial Academy Team Two."
Li Xiang looked a bit puzzled. "There's only a year left before the tournament. Isn't it a bit early for your sister to join the team? She's only 13 next year."
But Yang Tianyue spoke up confidently. "Teacher Li Xiang, my name is Yang Tianyue. My martial soul is the Breaking Soul Spear, and my spirit power is at rank 33."
Li Xiang was stunned. "Twelve years old and already rank 33? Understood. I'll arrange for her to join the team."
Yang Podi turned to everyone. "From today onward, my younger sister, Yang Tianyue, will be part of the team. She's only 12 years old but already at rank 33. I hope all of you will work harder to avoid being surpassed by her."
Everyone was speechless. Yang Podi was already a monster, and now there was a little sister who was also a monster.
Even Teacher Li Xiang couldn't help but mutter inwardly, "What kind of monstrous family is this? A big monster brother and a little monster sister."
Li Xiang eventually spoke. "Podi, the Heaven Dou Imperial Academy Team One is currently out training. They're traveling across the continent to spar with strong teams. Shouldn't Team Two also go out for training to gain valuable experience?"
Yang Podi thought for a moment before shaking his head. "Teacher Li Xiang, that's unnecessary. We are Team Two and will be participating in the preliminary and qualifying rounds. Those will be the best opportunities for training."
"Traveling for team battles now would be pointless. The distances across the continent are vast, and traveling by carriage is too time-consuming."
"As for combat training, I plan to lead the team into the Spirit Beast Forest once Tailong and Bai Xiaofei break through to Spirit Ancestor. They'll likely reach that level within a month."
Li Xiang hesitated. "Isn't the Spirit Beast Forest too dangerous? They're still students, after all."
"Although they're students, their strength is solid, with the weakest being close to Spirit Ancestor. They lack only combat experience. If it's still a concern, I'll ask the academy's board members to assist. That should ensure everyone's safety."
In the afternoon, Yang Podi joined the team for physical training. However, his training weights were shocking, with a combined weight of several thousand pounds. Everyone was stunned.
Yang Tianyue, despite participating in team training for the first time, managed to complete the session. This left Niu Meng and the others feeling utterly defeated. After years of training, they were nearly outperformed by a 12-year-old, which was embarrassing.
After training, Yang Podi entrusted Yang Tianyue to Dugu Yan. Since both were girls and Dugu Yan had a fearsome reputation and a Titled Douluo grandfather, no one at Heaven Dou Imperial Academy dared to mess with them.
The academy was full of diverse individuals—pretentious noble sons, dashing pretty boys, and strong military heirs. Yang Podi didn't want his sister involved with such people. Being around Dugu Yan would at least ensure her safety.
He specifically instructed Dugu Yan to deal with anyone who dared pursue or harass his sister by poisoning them first and letting him handle the aftermath.
As for anyone trying to bully Yang Tianyue, Yang Podi was unconcerned. Despite being only 12 years old, she was already at rank 33 and qualified for the Heaven Dou Elite Class. Moreover, her spear techniques were exceptional, making her a formidable opponent among Spirit Elders.
If someone resorted to underhanded tactics, who could outmatch Dugu Yan, a poison master from a lineage of poison users?
After training, Yang Podi and Ye Lingling left together to catch up. Yang Podi shared his experiences over the past three years, including his time in the Slaughter City and how much he had missed her.
Ye Lingling, in turn, recounted amusing incidents at the academy, team training anecdotes, and significant events in Heaven Dou City.
Yang Podi, captivated by Ye Lingling's beautiful face, couldn't resist kissing her.
After three years apart, their reunion was like an explosive collision, and they expressed their longing through passionate intimacy.
Within a day, news of Yang Tianyue's enrollment spread throughout the academy. When she accompanied Dugu Yan to the Heaven Dou Elite Class, everyone was shocked.
No one expected another student to enter the elite class upon enrollment. The last to do so was her brother, Yang Podi.
At just 12 years old and already at rank 33, Yang Tianyue's future seemed limitless.
Although still young, at nearly 170 cm tall, Yang Tianyue was a budding beauty with a well-proportioned figure. Her appearance quickly made her the goddess of Heaven Dou Imperial Academy, attracting countless admirers. In just two days, she received numerous love letters, with suitors from prominent families vying for her favor.
Among them was Crown Prince Xue Beng, who, leading a group of friends, prepared an elaborate public confession with expensive gifts. However, Dugu Yan's cold snort and poisonous green aura left Xue Beng and his friends convulsing on the ground, turning the confession into a disaster. Teachers could only sigh helplessly at the scene.
Dugu Yan's poison was the lethal Jade Phosphorus Snake Venom, and even though she was just a Spirit Ancestor, ordinary healing spirit masters couldn't treat it.
Eventually, Dugu Yan relented, considering their influential backgrounds, and provided an antidote. However, the poisoned individuals would endure pain and weakness for days unless cured by an expert.
After this incident, everyone avoided Yang Tianyue and her companions, fearing the wrath of these "little ancestors." Dugu Yan's warning that her grandfather would personally visit any offender's family ensured their peace.
Even Xue Beng, after recovering, sought his uncle, Prince Xue Xing, for help.
Prince Xue Xing looked at Xue Beng as if he were a fool. "Xue Beng, do you think anyone in the entire Heaven Dou Empire can avenge you? Is there anyone who dares to seek revenge on your behalf?"
Xue Beng thought carefully and realized that indeed, no one would dare provoke Dugu Bo. Even his own father would likely avoid offending Dugu Bo over something like this. Did this mean he had suffered in vain this time?
After thinking it over, Xue Beng spoke again. "Uncle, what if I propose to marry Yang Tianyue? What do you think about that?"
Prince Xue Xing shook his head. "Xue Beng, do you think that with your current reputation, Yang Wudi would agree to marry his precious granddaughter to you? Or that Niu Gao would agree to let his treasured granddaughter marry you?"
"I think you should stay calm during your time at Heaven Dou Imperial Academy. Stop causing trouble. Even though you are a prince, neither the Breaking Clan nor Dugu Bo is someone we can afford to provoke."
Prince Xue Xing sighed. "Dugu Bo indeed owes me a favor, but over the years, he has already repaid me plenty. Especially now that he is a guest elder of the Heaven Dou Empire, all thanks to the favor he owes me. However, favors have their limits. Once they are used up, we will no longer have any leeway, nor any support to rely on."
Xue Beng seemed angry. "Uncle, I'm still a prince, and you're a prince as well. How did we end up in such a situation?"
Prince Xue Xing appeared melancholic. "So what if you are a prince? Were your two brothers not princes as well? And yet, they both died. Not only did they die, but their deaths were shrouded in mystery."
