Chapter 96: Formation of the Heaven Dou First Team
🕑 Added 2024-12-05 17:37:44 +0000 UTCAfter Yang Podi left the Education Committee Building, Qin Ming hesitated before speaking again. "Three senior members of the Education Committee, I still feel unwilling to give up. May I meet with the members of Heaven Dou Second Team?"
Dream God Machine sighed helplessly. "Teacher Qin Ming, aren't you skilled at training students? There are nearly 50 students in the Heaven Dou Level, and all of their soul power is above Rank 30. There are still five years until the Continental Advanced Soul Master Academy Elite Tournament. Can't you, like Yang Podi, train a few Soul Elders during this time?"
"Three senior members, the main issue is that Dugu Yan and Ye Lingling are exceptionally suitable for my strategies. With their addition, our team would achieve better coordination and have even greater strength."
"Qin Ming, you may not know this, but Dugu Yan's grandfather is the Poison Douluo, Dugu Bo. Senior Dugu Bo has a good relationship with the Breaking Clan and has known them for many years. As for Ye Lingling, she is Yang Podi's girlfriend. Do you think it's likely that these two would transfer to the First Team?"
"Yang Podi started training two years ago. When Niu Meng, Tai Long, and Bai Xiaofei entered the academy, their soul power was only around Rank 21 or 22. Now, we've given you so many talented students to train, yet you still can't guarantee a full Soul Elder lineup before the tournament?"
The three members of the Education Committee were equally exasperated with Qin Ming's request. Yang Podi was training his students personally, yet Qin Ming wanted to poach them. With the many geniuses now allocated to him, why couldn't he train them himself? Moreover, the talents assigned to him were even more gifted than Niu Meng and the others.
Although the Heaven Dou Royal Academy's Second Team had consistently poor performance, their students' talents were actually quite high. Admission requirements included at least Rank 20 soul power by the age of twelve, comparable to Shrek Academy's entry standard.
In addition, nobles spared no effort in nurturing their family members. From medicinal baths to soul beast meat, resources were plentiful. Each new batch of students usually included several who were already above Rank 25 at age twelve.
The issue lay in the environment. Although the academy provided excellent simulated training conditions, temptations and competition among students often led to many losing their focus after enrollment.
Yang Podi felt disdain for Qin Ming's attempts to recruit his team members. Did he think training students was as simple as arranging daily weighted runs? The true key was the combination of medicinal baths and other training techniques.
While the academy provided most of the materials for the medicinal baths, Yang Podi had secretly modified them, incorporating a secret formula from the Breaking Clan. This formula was once used by the Clear Sky Sect. Only Yang Podi, Yang Ping'an, and Teacher Li Xiang knew about this. Others assumed the baths were ordinary ones provided by the academy.
Some of the rare medicinal ingredients had even been sourced from the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well. If purchased outside, these ingredients would be exorbitantly expensive. Furthermore, they were processed into a formula that no one, not even experts in herbal medicine, could decipher.
If someone blindly copied Yang Podi's training methods, it could potentially harm the students, causing internal injuries. This was Yang Podi's safeguard, ensuring his team's loyalty.
After some thought, Yang Podi summoned his team members. This time, he intentionally excluded the two teachers.
Once everyone was assembled, Yang Podi began, "I just came back from the Education Committee. Recently, the Heaven Dou Royal Academy's First Team has been forming, and they wanted to recruit some of you. I rejected them outright. Do any of you have other thoughts?"
The six others exchanged looks. After training together for over two years, they had developed a strong bond and a deep sense of belonging to the team.
Dugu Yan was the first to speak. "The First Team's captain, Yu Tianheng, approached me, but I turned him down. His soul power is lower than mine, and I don't trust their training methods to improve me as much as you have."
"Besides, Captain, you've done so much for us. I know who truly has my back."
Ye Lingling also spoke up. "Yu Tianheng came to me as well, but I rejected him."
Although she didn't elaborate, everyone understood her reasons.
Yang Ping'an remained silent. He didn't need to speak; the outcome was obvious.
The others also expressed their determination. Regardless of what conditions the First Team offered, they refused to leave.
Seeing their loyalty, Yang Podi finally spoke. "Regarding the Heaven Dou Royal Academy team, I don't care what you're thinking. None of you are allowed to leave the team."
"My goal for the next Soul Master Tournament is to win the championship. This is not just my goal but should be yours as well. Winning the championship will allow the four single-attribute clans to rise again, and no one will dare look down on us anymore."
Of course, Yang Podi left some things unsaid. The prizes for the next tournament included three high-quality soul bones. Even if he found them subpar, he couldn't allow others to take them. His team had members who desperately needed them.
Particularly, the head soul bone was a treasure at 60,000 years of age—an absolute rarity, on par with the inherited soul bones of the Upper Three Sects. It could even become a legacy treasure of the Breaking Clan.
Meanwhile, Qin Ming had assembled a new team from the Heaven Dou Level students, all above Rank 30 in soul power. The lineup included Yu Tianheng, whose martial soul was the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon; Oslo, with the Ghost Leopard martial soul; the Stone Brothers, with the Black Tortoise martial soul; and Yu Feng, with the Wind Bell Bird martial soul.
Additionally, Qin Ming recruited a control-type soul master with the Sky Blue Vine martial soul and even managed to secure a Seven Treasures Glazed Tile Pagoda soul master. With such a lineup, their synergy seemed promising, but their potential depended on how Qin Ming trained them.
Qin Ming's preference for geniuses—particularly those entering the academy above Rank 25—mirrored Shrek Academy's approach in the original story.
Yang Podi's current training methods were foundational and would not reveal his true strategies. His core techniques would only be implemented later.
Recently, aside from training, Yang Podi and Ye Lingling's relationship had rapidly deepened. While they hadn't crossed certain boundaries, they were almost inseparable.
Ye Lingling's personality had also brightened considerably, no longer as reserved as before. At times, she was even proactive, much to Yang Podi's delight.

'hadn't crossed certain boundaries'? Haven't they outright fucked twice now? What boundaries are beyond that in a relationship? Is it super freaky stuff like public hand-holding or marriage proposals?
