Chapter 95: Qin Ming
🕑 Added 2024-12-05 17:37:12 +0000 UTCOn this day, while Yang Podi was meditating in his dormitory, someone suddenly knocked on the door. It seemed that the three education committee members wanted him to go to their office.
Feeling curious, Yang Podi headed to the office. Upon arrival, he saw not only the three education committee members but also a young teacher and a tall, strong-looking student.
Yang Podi saluted the three education committee members and asked, "Honorable committee members, may I know why you called me here?"
Dream Machine, one of the education committee members, pointed to the young teacher and the student beside him and said, "Yang Podi, let me introduce them to you. This is Teacher Qin Ming, and the student here is Yu Tianheng."
Yang Podi nodded slightly at the two of them. "Hello, Teacher Qin Ming. Hello, Yu Tianheng."
However, Yang Podi was still puzzled. He had no interactions with either Qin Ming or Yu Tianheng. Why had Dream Machine asked him to come?
"Yang Podi," Dream Machine began, "according to the academy's arrangements, Teacher Qin Ming will serve as the leader of the Heaven Dou Imperial Academy's first team, and Yu Tianheng will be the team captain."
"Congratulations, Teacher Qin Ming. Congratulations, Captain Yu Tianheng," Yang Podi said politely.
Qin Ming nodded slightly as acknowledgment, while Yu Tianheng displayed a proud expression, seemingly indifferent.
"Dream Machine, what does the first team of Heaven Dou Imperial Academy have to do with me?" Yang Podi asked.
Dream Machine hesitated for a moment before replying, "By the order of His Majesty the Emperor and His Highness the Crown Prince, we are putting all our efforts into forming a strong Heaven Dou Imperial Academy battle team. Teacher Qin Ming and Captain Yu Tianheng believe that some members of your second team have great potential and would like to recruit them into the first team."
Yang Podi chuckled. "Honorable committee member, I have trained my team for over two years. Now the first team wants to recruit my team members directly—don't you think that's a bit inappropriate? Besides, I already communicated with His Highness the Crown Prince. Recruitment and training for the second team are fully under my responsibility."
"Moreover, I personally promised His Highness that in five years, I would lead the second team of Heaven Dou Imperial Academy to the Soul Master Competition, with my goal being the championship."
Qin Ming interjected, "Yang Podi, I know you have exceptional talent, but proper training is essential. I heard you haven't attended a single class since you enrolled. Without formal lessons, you will fall behind in many aspects."
"Teacher Qin Ming," Yang Podi replied calmly, "I skip classes because the knowledge taught in them is something I have already mastered. Attending classes would just waste my time, which I could instead spend on personal training and meditation. As for my training methods, if the three committee members have any doubts, they can test the progress of my team."
Qin Ming seemed a bit anxious. "Your training methods can't compare to a systematic training regimen. If these students train under me, their strength and potential will increase significantly."
Yang Podi showed a trace of disdain. "Teacher Qin Ming, are you still relying on the same training methods from Shrek Academy?"
"Let me put it this way: in my current team, Dugu Yan has reached Rank 36, Yang Ping'an Rank 35, Ye Lingling Rank 33, Niu Meng Rank 29, Tai Long and Bai Xiaofei Rank 28. Compared to two years ago, each of them has increased their soul power by at least seven ranks."
"My goal is that in five years, during the Soul Master Competition, all members of my team will reach the Soul Elder level. Teacher Qin Ming, can you guarantee such progress if they train under you?"
"And as for myself, by then, I aim to reach the Soul King level. With one Soul King and six Soul Elders, do you think my team could achieve good results in the competition?"
Everyone in the room fell silent after hearing this. Qin Ming was especially astonished. To think that Yang Podi's training could yield such incredible results in just over two years—it was almost unthinkable.
Even more shocking was that Dugu Yan, Yang Ping'an, and Ye Lingling, who originally had lower soul power levels than Yu Tianheng, had now surpassed him. The speed of their progress was nothing short of terrifying.
Yu Tianheng was visibly taken aback. Initially, he, Dugu Yan, Ye Lingling, and Yang Ping'an had all been in the same class of high-potential students. Yet now, these three had made such remarkable progress, while he had just barely entered the Heaven Dou advanced class. Meanwhile, they were nearing graduation-level strength.
Yang Podi continued nonchalantly, "The current members of my team did not have particularly outstanding soul power when they enrolled. Their remarkable progress is entirely due to my training over these two years. Teacher Qin Ming, you're welcome to try and recruit them into the first team, but I doubt any of them would be willing to leave my second team."
Yang Podi wasn't exaggerating—this was simply the truth. Ye Lingling was his girlfriend, and Yang Ping'an was his loyal follower; neither would ever leave him. Niu Meng, Tai Long, and Bai Xiaofei were direct descendants of the four single-attribute clans. If they dared to leave the second team, their parents would likely punish them severely.
As for Dugu Yan, the relationship between Dugu Bo and the Breaking Clan had grown strong over the years. Dugu Yan herself also had a long-standing friendship with Yang Podi, making it highly unlikely she would leave.
The Heaven Dou Imperial Academy was a place rife with temptations, especially for the children of nobility who sought to form connections. Over the past two years, as the second team's strength grew, there had been countless attempts to entice its members away, often with offers of wealth and beauty.
Tai Long and Niu Meng, in particular, had almost succumbed to such temptations at one point, entering romantic relationships with noble girls. When Yang Podi found out, he gave them a harsh lesson, beating them severely until they cried for mercy. Even after treating their injuries with Ye Lingling's help, he continued the punishment.
Afterward, Yang Podi personally wrote letters to their fathers. The very next day, both parents arrived at the academy and delivered another round of severe discipline. To this day, Tai Long and Niu Meng still shudder at the memory.
It wasn't that Yang Podi opposed their relationships but rather that he wanted to teach them how to resist temptation. He emphasized that everything they did should be for the sake of their clans. Falling for such tricks could lead their families to ruin.
Seeing Qin Ming's embarrassment, Dream Machine stepped in to mediate. "Teacher Qin Ming, there are many excellent students in the academy besides those in the second team. The Heaven Dou class alone has over fifty students, all above Rank 30, and under the age of twenty. They are eligible to participate in the next Soul Master Competition."
Qin Ming realized the situation was untenable and nodded slightly in resignation.
Dream Machine turned to Yang Podi. "Yang Podi, your results with the second team have been impressive, and we fully recognize your efforts. Rest assured, there will be no changes to the team. Keep up the good work."
