Chapter 92: A Love Declaration
🕑 Added 2024-11-30 07:41:05 +0000 UTCIgnoring the gazes of those around him, Yang Podi embraced Ye Lingling, leaving everyone present stunned, especially Dugu Yan, who was aware of the situation.
Even Ning Rongrong's expression was particularly complex, displaying regret, resentment, and a look of curiosity, as if she were enjoying the drama.
In Yang Podi's arms, Ye Lingling's face turned entirely red, even her neck showed signs of blush from embarrassment.
Yang Podi, however, spoke domineeringly:
"Lingling, from today onward, you are my girlfriend. Let me tell you, during the past month, I was away with my father hunting for a spirit ring in the Star Dou Forest. The spirit beast I sought was quite unique, which is why it took so long."
"From now on, I will never leave you again. I will make sure you are always happy and content."
Ye Lingling, feeling reassured, finally let her guard down and rested in Yang Podi's embrace, as though his chest was a safe haven she could rely on for life.
No one knew how long they held each other until a voice interrupted them.
Li Xiang, the teacher, spoke with some embarrassment:
"Yang Podi, Ye Lingling, this is still a public space. As students, you should be mindful of your image."
The two instantly stiffened in awkwardness before reluctantly separating.
Yang Podi seemed to recall something and stepped toward Ning Rongrong:
"Miss Ning, I, Yang Podi, am a person of principle. I hope you will stop spreading rumors to slander me and refrain from interfering with our team's training. Otherwise, you will no longer be welcome here."
Ning Rongrong was visibly angered.
"What right do you have to speak to me like this? I only came to your team out of respect for Sister Yan and Sister Lingling. Do you believe I won't call Grandpa Sword and Grandpa Bone to deal with you if you provoke me?"
Yang Podi responded seriously:
"Miss Ning, I am fully aware of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan's powerful status among the top three sects and the might of Sword Douluo and Bone Douluo. But the Breaking Clan fears no threats. If necessary, we will fight to the death."
"As the eldest young lady of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan, you should conduct yourself with dignity. Otherwise, don't blame me for being impolite."
After saying this, Yang Podi ignored everyone's shocked reactions, took Ye Lingling by the hand, and left. Dugu Yan glanced at Ning Rongrong and left without hesitation.
The other members of the team, who had come upon hearing the commotion, said nothing to Ning Rongrong and dispersed. With that, the farce came to an end.
Ning Rongrong stood there, her face full of grievance.
Li Xiang and An Ya, the two teachers, exchanged glances before speaking up:
"Miss Ning, how about we arrange for you to rest for now?"
"I don't need your arrangements! I'm going home. I'm going back to the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan. This place is no fun at all."
Li Xiang and An Ya looked at each other helplessly. Finally, they decided to personally escort Ning Rongrong back to the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan.
Meanwhile, Yang Podi led Ye Lingling to the academy's lakeside.
Ye Lingling tried to withdraw her hand, but Yang Podi held on tightly, giving her no chance to pull away.
Ye Lingling finally spoke softly:
"Captain, there's no one around now. Can you let go of my hand?"
Yang Podi refused firmly:
"No, I don't want to let go of your hand. I'm afraid you'll run away if I do."
"But there's no one here now. There's no need to prove anything."
"Lingling, holding your hand isn't about proving anything. I just don't want to let you go."
As he spoke, Yang Podi used his other hand to gently stroke Ye Lingling's silver hair before removing the black veil from her face.
Before Ye Lingling could react, Yang Podi leaned closer and kissed her soft, rosy lips unguardedly.
At that moment, Ye Lingling was utterly stunned. She seemed to forget everything—her family, the curse of her clan's spirit. All she saw was the man before her.
By the lakeside, the two kissed, as though time had stopped, creating a moment of eternity for them.
A kiss that sealed their love!
---
Meanwhile, back at the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan, Ning Rongrong was in a foul mood, her expression gloomy.
Sword Douluo and Bone Douluo grew anxious upon seeing her like this.
Sword Douluo was the first to speak:
"What happened to our little princess? Did someone dare bully you?"
Ning Rongrong's grievances poured out as she faced the two elders:
"It's all because of that jerk Yang Podi! He bullied me!"
Sword Douluo was instantly furious:
"Yang Podi? How dare he bully our little princess? I'll go teach him a lesson right now!"
Bone Douluo chimed in:
"Sword, who is this Yang Podi? How dare he provoke our Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan? Let me deal with him!"
However, Ning Fengzhi held a letter in his hand, detailing the events at Heaven Dou Imperial Academy. After reading it, Ning Fengzhi appeared helpless. His daughter's penchant for causing trouble was truly exasperating.
As Sword Douluo and Bone Douluo prepared to leave, Ning Fengzhi stopped them:
"Uncle Sword, Uncle Bone, wait a moment and read this letter first."
Sword Douluo dismissed it:
"I don't need to read any letter. That boy dared to bully our princess; he must pay the price!"
Bone Douluo immediately agreed.
Ning Fengzhi could only shake his head helplessly.
Eventually, the two elders read the letter. After finishing, both were at a loss for words.
It turned out their little princess had stirred up quite the mess, causing widespread resentment within Team Two of the academy.
Ning Rongrong spoke again:
"Grandpa Sword, Grandpa Bone, do you not like me anymore? Why won't you stand up for me?"
Sword Douluo, now embarrassed, reassured her:
"Don't worry, Rongrong. The clan has a lot of important matters to handle right now. I can't leave just yet. But the next time I visit the academy, I'll definitely teach Yang Podi a lesson he'll never forget."
With coaxing and reassurances, they finally managed to calm Ning Rongrong down.
After she left the hall, only Ning Fengzhi, Sword Douluo, and Bone Douluo remained.
Sword Douluo, still somewhat aggrieved, said:
"Fengzhi, even though Rongrong was in the wrong this time, Yang Podi's words were too harsh. I still think he needs to be taught a lesson."
Ning Fengzhi, resuming his role as clan master, replied:
"Uncle Sword, there's no rush. I recently heard that Niu Gao of the Defense Clan has reached level 89, and Yang Wudi of the Breaking Clan has reached level 88. At their current pace, both could break through to become Title Douluos within three years."
Sword Douluo was surprised:
"How is that possible? With their talent and martial souls, it should be very difficult for them to reach Title Douluo."
Bone Douluo looked grim:
"Fengzhi, should we intervene?"
Ning Fengzhi shook his head:
"The battle with the Clear Sky Sect was only a few years ago, and Spirit Hall has been growing at an astonishing pace. The single-attribute clans bear deep grudges against Spirit Hall. With Yang Wudi and Niu Gao on the verge of becoming Title Douluos, Spirit Hall should be the one worrying, not us."
"For now, our Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan will observe the situation."
