Chapter 78: Whale Glue
🕑 Added 2024-11-13 18:43:54 +0000 UTCLittle witch Ning Rongrong had been here for eight days, and Yang Podi, along with the other team members, had suffered greatly, resulting in a sharp decline in their training effectiveness.
Especially when she was taken away by Ning Fengzhi, she seemed reluctant to leave, indicating that she would come back to play again next time, which made Yang Podi's head ache.
Once Ning Rongrong left, Yang Podi immediately reverted all the facilities back to their original state, swiftly erasing any traces.
He also emphasized to everyone, "I don't know what kind of state you were in these past few days, but with training like this, the results are almost null. Getting stronger is your own responsibility. If you're so easily affected by external distractions, then you have no right to become a strong person."
To further educate everyone, Yang Podi directly fought against all six members at once, knocking them all to the ground and giving them a heavy lesson.
Afterward, the training resumed to its original form. In addition to the original weighted running, other exercises were introduced, including rock climbing, pushing iron balls, and weighted swimming. This made everyone complain, but the training results were still good.
Time passed quickly, and a year had gone by.
Through this year of training, everyone had made significant progress.
Yang Podi finally broke through to Level 40, with an average increase of one level every three months, which was acceptable.
Dugu Yan had reached Level 34, Ye Lianling had reached Level 29, Talon and Bai Xiaofei had reached Level 25, and Niu Meng had reached Level 26.
Yang Ping'an, originally at Level 28, had broken through to Level 30, gained a soul ring, and absorbed it to increase his level by one. He was now at Level 33, the highest level among them.
Now that everyone had surpassed Level 25, it was time for them to go to the Soul Arena for their soul battles.
Additionally, the afternoon training time would be reduced, and more time would be allocated for meditation in suitable simulated environments.
Although the training time was reduced, the overall intensity of the training had increased, mainly due to the higher weight load, as everyone had gradually adapted to this level of training intensity.
One advantage was that since everyone had reached Level 25, they could now participate in the soul battles.
Every evening, except for Yang Podi, the others had to go to the Soul Arena to participate in soul battles.
As for Yang Podi himself, he was contemplating his fourth soul ring.
Now that he already had two enhancement-type soul skills and one attack soul skill that allowed for instant movement, his early configuration was sufficient. Especially with the combination of these soul skills, Yang Podi was confident that he could fight a Soul King.
It seemed like he was lacking nothing, especially with his spear skills and the spear intent (or sword intent) that he had never displayed outside. Even a high-level Soul King would be no match for him.
After becoming more familiar with his external soul bone—the Crocodile King Spear—Yang Podi had fully mastered it.
The golden Crocodile King Spear, when used, felt like a 2-meter long whip. It was golden in color, with great hardness and strength. In terms of raw power, it was comparable to his arm, and its hardness was even more exaggerated. Even with his Soul Breaker Spear, he could only cause minor damage.
Moreover, the spear's tip was incredibly sharp, almost like a sword. When fully unleashed, it could produce spear intent. The Crocodile King Spear had a passive soul bone ability: Armor Piercing. When using the Crocodile King Spear, it ignored the opponent's defense, though the effectiveness depended on the opponent's soul power level and the Crocodile King Spear’s age. For example, against a Soul Sect opponent in the arena, a few strikes from the spear would likely kill them.
As for his fourth soul ring, Yang Podi had considered a 10,000-year soul ring, but he felt there was no need to take such a risk.
Given his current physical condition, he wasn't sure if he could complete the Ice and Fire Tempering. His plan had always been to undergo the Ice and Fire Tempering after reaching Soul Sect. After all, he was not like Tang San, who had the Xuantian Skill, nor was he a child of fate with a terrifying soul beast bloodline like the Blue Silver Emperor.
So, Yang Podi planned to obtain a fourth soul ring within 10,000 years. The higher the age, the better, since his third soul ring was nearly 4,000 years old and absorbing a soul ring of that age wouldn’t be too dangerous.
As for why he didn't use the Waning River Autumn Water Dew, Yang Podi's plan was to undergo Ice and Fire Tempering first before using it. Unlike Tang San, he had a physical martial soul. If he took the Waning River Autumn Water Dew before the tempering, there was a risk that his martial soul’s eyes might evolve, which would lead to a mismatch between his eyes and body, causing deformities. That would be disastrous.
At this moment, Yang Podi took out a large block of whale glue from his storage ring, which was about the size of a fist. This whale resin, which had an age of 50,000 years, was a top-grade specimen. Yang Podi had spent over 100,000 gold soul coins to acquire it at an auction.
Now that he was over 13 years old, Yang Podi believed he could handle the evil fire caused by consuming the whale glue, and he had specifically waited until he reached Level 40 to use it.
The whale glue had three main effects: enhancing soul power, improving physical fitness, and purging impurities from the body.
The 10,000-year whale glue could typically increase soul power by one or two levels, but Yang Podi wasn't concerned with that. What he cared more about was its ability to improve his physical fitness and eliminate impurities, making his body stronger and better for future development.
Yang Podi didn’t plan to ask a fire-attribute soul master to help him melt it, as the whale glue needed to remain confidential within his family. Even without a fire-attribute soul master, there were other methods to handle it.
He placed the whale glue in a special metal bowl and then inserted a Red Fire Stone into a specially designed furnace. The Red Fire Stone emitted an extremely high temperature, ideal for creating fire-attribute simulated environments. The Broken Clan also liked to use these stones in their alchemy.
As time passed, the whale glue began to melt slowly, and eventually, it turned into a liquid. Even the metal bowl started to turn red from the intense heat.
Yang Podi wasn’t concerned with the bowl’s temperature. He quickly infused his soul power into his hand, took the metal bowl, and swallowed the melted whale resin directly.
As the resin entered his mouth, it burned like fire, scorching his tongue and throat. Soon, it flowed quickly into his stomach.
Once the whale resin entered his abdomen, it felt like an intense flame spreading throughout his body, reaching every inch of his skin, every cell, every bone, and every drop of bone marrow.
His entire body felt as though it were submerged in fire, even as if it were in molten lava.
At the same time, his soul power seemed to begin rising, but since he had reached a bottleneck at Level 40, the soul power surged throughout his body like a raging flood, much like the energy released when absorbing a soul ring, improving his physique.
