Chapter 74: Soul Elder Defeats Soul Ancestor
🕑 Added 2024-11-08 18:36:26 +0000 UTCAmid a burst of noise, Yang Podi and his opponent walked onto the stage.
At first glance, Yang Podi couldn't help but swallow nervously. Opposite him stood a huge man with a towering height of over two meters, possibly reaching two meters three or four. His entire body was impressively large, dressed only in combat shorts, with his upper body exposed, resembling a mountain of muscle.
Judging by his size, he likely weighed at least three or four hundred pounds. No wonder he was a disciple of the Elephant Armored Clan, known for their defensive cultivation. Surprisingly, he wasn't wearing a mask.
After the host briefly introduced the two fighters, a giant screen in the sky displayed their information, including past battles and detailed profiles.
Upon seeing the height difference, many spectators seemed glad they had bet on the "Invincible Elephant" to win. After all, Yang Podi was only 1.7 meters tall, while his opponent exceeded 2.3 meters. The difference in height and build made it look like an adult facing off against a child.
After introducing the two fighters, the host announced, "You each have one minute to summon your martial spirits before the match begins."
Yang Podi summoned his Breaking Soul Spear, with two yellow and one purple spirit rings appearing around him. His opponent summoned a massive Diamond Mammoth, which was over five meters tall, accompanied by two yellow and two purple spirit rings.
The host then declared, "Preparation time is over. The battle begins."
This time, Yang Podi didn't initiate an attack; instead, he stood still, seemingly waiting for his opponent to make the first move.
The "Invincible Elephant" opponent charged forward quickly, causing the ground to tremble.
As they drew closer, his opponent swung a massive fist toward Yang Podi.
But his attack speed and movement were both quite slow. Yang Podi easily dodged the strike.
Seeing his first attempt miss, the "Invincible Elephant" tried multiple consecutive punches but still couldn't land a hit on Yang Podi.
Noticing his opponent's growing impatience, Yang Podi waited for the next punch and countered by thrusting his Breaking Soul Spear.
The spear collided with the opponent's fist, forcing Yang Podi back a step, while the opponent remained unshaken, with a cut appearing on his left hand.
"Such strength, interesting," Yang Podi's eyes gleamed. "Since you're interested in a power struggle, let me show you."
With both hands gripping his spear, he met the next attack with a powerful strike. Both fighters were forced back a step, but the opponent's hand suffered a deeper wound.
The "Invincible Elephant" then used his first spirit skill, Crushing Pressure. Yang Podi immediately felt a heavy force weighing on him, exceeding 500 pounds. While this would have been overwhelming for most, for Yang Podi, it was only mildly challenging.
Feigning struggle under the pressure, Yang Podi waited for his opponent to attack again. In the moment his opponent swung, Yang Podi leaped up, dodging the attack and using the White Crane Spreads Wings technique, piercing the opponent's right shoulder.
The "Invincible Elephant" was now bleeding heavily and shouted in anger, "You can actually withstand my Crushing Pressure?"
Yang Podi ignored him, thrusting his spear again with a swift stab. His opponent attempted to block with his martial spirit, but despite his defense, he sustained another wound.
Seeing his opponent's multiple injuries, Yang Podi struck again with the Dragon Piercing Strike, targeting his opponent's weak points. Sensing the danger, his opponent activated his third spirit skill, Iron Wall. The Diamond Mammoth's ghostly image appeared, creating a shield that clashed with Yang Podi's spear, producing sparks like metal striking metal.
This time, Yang Podi was forced back three steps, while his opponent was pushed back one step.
"Not bad," Yang Podi commented, "the Diamond Mammoth truly lives up to its reputation as the strongest defense martial spirit. Let's see how many more hits you can take."
Yang Podi gripped his spear and attacked again. The massive Diamond Mammoth continued to defend.
The battle grew intense, with the audience cheering wildly.
However, the guests seated at the VIP section noticed something unusual. Yang Podi, the "White Horse Silver Spear," was inflicting continuous damage without using any spirit skills, whereas the "Invincible Elephant" had already used two skills but still took damage.
On the stage, one attacked, while the other defended. Yang Podi relied on his agile body and surprise spear techniques to wound his opponent, while the "Invincible Elephant" relied on his formidable defense. It seemed like a drawn-out battle.
Realizing his disadvantage, the "Invincible Elephant" decided to turn things around. He activated his fourth spirit skill, Mammoth Strength, which visibly enlarged his physique, enhancing his power.
Facing this empowered strike, Yang Podi didn't back down. He met the attack with his spear, allowing the force to push him back slightly before rotating his body to perform the Looking Back at the Moon move, targeting his opponent's already-injured right shoulder.
Those with a keen eye understood the fight was nearly over, with Yang Podi likely to emerge victorious.
Unwilling to concede, the "Invincible Elephant" grabbed the spear with one hand and swung a punch with the other, ignoring his injuries.
Yang Podi sneered, "Seeking death!"
His first spirit ring glowed, activating Force of a Thousand Tons, boosting his physical strength by 50% and doubling his spear's power. With a cry of pain, the spear pierced his opponent's right shoulder completely.
Yang Podi then swept his spear in a move called Sweeping Army, knocking his opponent off the stage.
The fallen "Invincible Elephant" lay seriously injured, bleeding profusely.
The arena fell silent before erupting into cheers. It was a rare sight to see such a thrilling battle, especially one where a Soul Elder defeated a Soul Ancestor—a momentous victory.
The host announced, "The battle is over! The 'Invincible Elephant' has been defeated, and the 'White Horse Silver Spear' is the victor!"
The crowd cheered once more.
Yang Podi retracted his Breaking Soul Spear and left the stage alone.
