Chapter 72: Level Jumping Soul Fight
🕑 Added 2024-11-06 19:39:38 +0000 UTCAfter hearing what the waiter said, Yang Podi felt a bit surprised. He was just a small Soul Elder now and hadn't thought about how to face these people. Li Xiang, the teacher next to him, shook his head, clearly disapproving.
Seeing this, the waiter quickly said, "Please wait a moment; our manager will be here shortly to meet you."
Before long, a shrewd-looking middle-aged man arrived. "Hello, friends, my name is Jackson. I am the manager of the Heaven Dou City Great Soul Arena. May I invite you to my office to discuss a business opportunity?"
Yang Podi was a bit confused. "Business? We are just here for the Soul Fight; how can we participate in any business?"
Jackson seemed to understand their concerns. "You have nothing to worry about; we will not ask you to do anything illegal. Besides, considering your backgrounds, even our Great Soul Arena would not want to offend you easily."
Yang Podi exchanged glances with Teacher Li, and after a slight nod, he said, "Mr. Jackson, please lead the way."
Following Jackson, they arrived at a luxurious reception room.
After everyone sat down, Jackson directly spoke. "Mr. Yang Podi, you have participated in Soul Fights at the Heaven Dou City Great Soul Arena for three consecutive months, attending at least three matches a day, totaling over 300 fights without a single defeat."
"From your attire, you should be students of the Heaven Dou Royal Academy. You came to the Heaven Dou City Great Soul Arena to train, but now, you may find you have no opponents left, and it likely won't provide much further training."
Yang Podi pondered for a moment. "Indeed, the recent few Soul Fights have been somewhat easy for me, and I may not be able to continue participating. What exactly do you mean by business?"
"We at the Heaven Dou City Great Soul Arena sometimes hold special matches to attract spectators, such as level-jumping battles."
"Level-jumping battles? What exactly do you mean, Mr. Jackson?"
After some contemplation, Jackson explained, "We would like to invite Mr. Yang Podi to participate in a level-jumping Soul Fight, where your opponent will be a Soul Ancestor level Soul Master."
"Based on our analysis of your abilities, you now have the strength of a Soul Ancestor. This fight will take place in the main arena with the highest specifications."
"We are also aware, Mr. Yang Podi, that with the help of this gentleman beside you, you have earned about 5 million gold soul coins over three months. This is not an issue; if you participate in this Soul Fight, you will be able to place your own bets with no limits, as long as you don't intentionally lose."
Yang Podi thought for a moment before asking, "What exactly is your purpose in doing this?"
Jackson smiled. "As a manager of the Soul Arena, I am naturally concerned about business. The fight between a Soul Elder and a Soul Ancestor is very appealing and will draw a large crowd to place bets, which is also a way to make money."
"Moreover, you are a star player of our Soul Arena, so it's only fair to give you some preferential treatment."
Yang Podi closed his eyes and thought for a moment, then said, "Alright. I trust you will need some preparation time, so just notify me of the specific time later."
Upon hearing this response, Jackson's face lit up with joy. "Mr. Yang Podi, you can rest assured that we will ensure your information remains confidential. We will also choose a star player to face you in this fight, and it will definitely create a sensation throughout the city. We will inform you of the specific time for the fight and provide you with your opponent's information."
After discussing the details of the Soul Fight, Yang Podi and the others left the Soul Arena.
In the carriage, Teacher Li appeared serious. "Podi, you need to think this through. If your opponent is a star-level competitor, they will likely be at least level 48 or even 49 Soul Ancestor. Such a level of Soul Ancestor has nearly the fighting power of a Soul King, especially with extremely rich combat experience."
"Teacher Li, I understand. I believe this will help me train myself better."
The others nearby were astonished. The Heaven Dou City Great Soul Arena was filled with talented individuals, especially those star competitors whose abilities were formidable. Yang Podi, as a Soul Elder, dared to challenge high-level Soul Ancestor, even those with initial Soul King strength.
Yang Podi seemed to think of something. "Teacher Li, please arrange for someone to notify the Breaking Clan about my Soul Fight."
Du Gu Yan also spoke up, "Podi, don't worry. Although I'm already level 30, I won't go hunting for a soul ring yet. I'll wait until after you finish this Soul Fight, and I'll bring my grandfather along to watch. No one will dare to cause you trouble."
Meanwhile, Ye Lingling added, "Captain, don't worry. No matter how serious your injuries are, I promise to heal you and ensure you won't have any hidden troubles."
Upon hearing this, Yang Podi was speechless. Did they really think he would get injured? Did they really believe he would definitely lose?
Yang Ping An, on the other hand, didn't say anything but appeared to have complete confidence in his older brother.
The next day, news spread throughout Heaven Dou City that the Great Soul Arena would host a high-level Soul Fight in ten days. The fighters would be a level 36 Soul Elder and a level 48 Soul Ancestor.
The information about the two fighters was also made public. The level 36 Soul Elder was named White horse spear king, with the martial soul Breaking Soul Spear, boasting a record of 106 wins and 0 losses in single contests, and 238 wins and 0 losses in team contests. He was the only Soul Elder in the Heaven Dou City region to obtain a Purple Gold Soul Fight Medal.
The level 48 Soul Ancestor was named Tian Xiang Wu Di, with the martial soul Diamond Mammoth, holding a record of 367 wins and 49 losses in single contests, and 167 wins and 26 losses in team contests. He was a Gold Soul Fight Medal winner and a star competitor at the Heaven Dou City Great Soul Arena.
Upon the publication of their information, there was an uproar. This was no ordinary Soul Fight; it was a massive gamble, especially with the Diamond Mammoth martial soul, which was renowned as the strongest defensive beast martial soul. How could it possibly lose to a mere Soul Elder?
Suddenly, this Soul Fight drew widespread attention, and many people began to place bets against the Tian Xiang Wu Di contestant, hoping to make a large profit.
Of course, the betting odds were quite different. The odds for betting on the Tian Xiang Wu Di contestant were 1 to 1.6, while for Bai Ma Yin Qiang, the odds were 1 to 5.3. Clearly, not many people believed that a Soul Elder could defeat a Soul Elder.
At this time, the Breaking Clan was also in an uproar. Although they knew that Yang Podi had been participating in the Soul Arena recently, they did not expect him to take such a big risk by challenging a Soul Ancestor with a Diamond Mammoth martial soul.
Yang Wudi's face turned grim. "Zhen Tian, go to the Heaven Dou Royal Academy tomorrow and check on Podi's current situation."
