Chapter 66: Dugu Yan's Visit
🕑 Added 2024-11-05 04:01:29 +0000 UTCAfter Yang Podi finished discussing the specific plans with the four of them, he dismissed them, as the remaining matters needed to be handled by himself.
In the afternoon, Yang Podi arrived at the teaching committee building again, but it seemed that the three committee members were quite busy; he waited for a while before it was his turn to be received.
When the three committee members saw Yang Podi, they seemed a bit surprised. "Yang Podi, it's nice to see you again so soon. Did you come to us for something specific?"
"Three committee members, regarding the matter of forming the second team for the Soul Master Competition in seven years, has His Royal Highness the Crown Prince confirmed anything?"
Dreaming God Machine, one of the committee members, nodded. "The Crown Prince has confirmed and agreed to your request. You will be the captain of the second team of the Heaven Dou Royal Academy, responsible for selecting and training the team members. The second team will not have a supervising teacher."
"Thank you, committee members. I have already chosen a few team members for the next Soul Master Competition: Yang Ping'an, Tai Long, Niu Meng, and Bai Xiaofei. They are all Great Soul Masters now, and I would like to start training them immediately."
"Starting training now? Isn't that a bit early? After all, there are still seven years until the competition."
"Committee members, regarding the competitors in the Soul Master Competition, typically they need to be at least high-level Soul Sovereigns. My plan is to enhance their training so that by the time of the competition, there will be multiple Soul Zong levels among them. Given the current scores of the students just starting their studies, this will likely be quite challenging, so I intend to start their training early."
"Yang Podi, your considerations are very thorough. Is there anything else you would like to discuss with us?"
"Committee members, regarding the students' training, I would like the academy to provide a separate training venue, preferably a larger one, as I will arrange for the students to train there. Additionally, can we have support for medicinal baths for the future participants?"
The three committee members seemed to communicate with each other for a moment before Dreaming God Machine spoke up again. "Yang Podi, regarding the training venue, Training Ground No. 3 is currently vacant. I can designate it specifically for your training. As for the medicinal baths, the academy provides special funding for teams participating in the Soul Master Competition. You can go to the teaching department to receive what you need. Of course, we will also assign you a supervising teacher's title."
"Oh, and one more thing. Although you will serve as the supervising teacher, there will be times when you need to handle other matters while participating in the competition. We will arrange for Teacher Li to assist you in leading the team, so you will have more time for your own training."
"Thank you, committee members!"
After further discussions with the three committee members and receiving encouragement for Yang Podi and the second team, he finally left with the documents personally signed by the three committee members.
The documents included the appointment of Yang Podi as the next supervising teacher and captain of the Heaven Dou Royal Academy's second team, responsible for training the team members.
There was also a document assigning Training Ground No. 3 for the use of Yang Podi's team.
Finally, there was a document for the special subsidy for the Heaven Dou Royal Academy's second team, which would allow them to receive related medicinal baths, herbs, and other supplies from the logistics department.
With this, the Heaven Dou Royal Academy's second team was essentially formed, consisting of three strong offense-type members: Yang Podi, Yang Ping'an, and Tai Long; one agility-type member: Bai Xiaofei; and one defense-type member: Niu Meng. They were only lacking control and support types, but for Yang Podi, this was not an issue. If necessary, he could recruit a few from the academy.
That night, Yang Podi was meditating alone in his dormitory when someone knocked on his door. He was puzzled; he had just arrived at the Heaven Dou Royal Academy and didn't have any friends yet, so who could be knocking?
When he opened the door, he was surprised to see Dugu Yan with a girl.
"Sister Yan, long time no see! Why are you coming to my dormitory so late?"
Dugu Yan seemed a bit excited. "Yang Podi, you little rascal! You come to study at the Heaven Dou Royal Academy and don't even tell me? Didn't I say I'm studying here too?"
"Sister Yan, I've just been busy today with a lot going on."
"Don't call me Sister Yan anymore; just call me Yan Jie from now on. We're not kids anymore."
"Okay, Yan Jie. How did you know I came to the Heaven Dou Royal Academy?"
Dugu Yan seemed a bit speechless. "Who doesn't know that you're at the Heaven Dou Royal Academy now? The talented disciple of the Breaking Clan, Yang Podi, with the martial soul 'Breaking Soul Spear,' at just 12 years old, already has a soul power level of 35. The entire Heaven Dou Royal Academy knows about it. I bet within a few days, the whole Heaven Dou City will know."
Hearing this, Yang Podi felt a bit speechless. While he expected his enrollment would attract attention, he didn't think it would create such a stir.
"Yan Jie, I didn't want to become famous like this. Come on in and have a seat in my dorm."
He welcomed the two into the living room of his dormitory and poured each of them a cup of tea.
Yang Podi had often marveled at the luxury of the dormitory. The Heaven Dou Royal Academy was indeed splendid; not only were the dorms independent, but they were also fully equipped with various facilities, including a kitchen, bedroom, living room, and even a conference room, making it almost suitable for a team to live in long-term.
The girl who came with Dugu Yan seemed to be her classmate, about the same age as Dugu Yan, slim and delicate, with a black veil covering her face. Her long blue hair cascaded down her back, and she had a pair of exceptionally beautiful large eyes that matched the color of her hair. She looked rather quiet and seemed somewhat familiar.
"Yan Jie, how did you know where my dormitory is?"
Dugu Yan smiled slightly. "Now you are a celebrity at the Heaven Dou Royal Academy. I just asked the teachers at the teaching department, and they told me your dorm."
"You really have good connections, being able to find a teacher at the Heaven Dou Royal Academy so easily."
"You little rascal! What are you saying? We've only been apart for half a year. Did you miss me at all?"
Yang Podi couldn't help but laugh. Ever since Dugu Yan visited the Breaking Clan three years ago with her father, the relationship between their families had grown closer. Periodically, Dugu Yan would visit the Breaking Clan, and Yang Podi and Yang Ping'an would sometimes accompany their parents to visit the Dugu family in Heaven Dou City.
They were all around the same age and considered geniuses in their own right, so as they communicated more, their interactions increased.
Especially since Dugu Yan had a rather spirited personality and a bit of an older sister vibe, both Yang Podi and Yang Ping'an liked her quite a bit, and they were familiar with each other.
Yang Podi felt a bit curious. "Yan Jie, what brings you to my dorm so late?"
"It's not that important; I heard you came to study at the Royal Academy, and suddenly you became famous, so I brought my friend to come and see and get to know this celebrity."
