Chapter 60: Shocking Everyone
🕑 Added 2024-10-24 17:33:48 +0000 UTCAfter Yang Ping'an completed his test, a teacher immediately came to take him away, clearly indicating that he was a student to be given special attention.
At this moment, it was finally Yang Podi's turn for the entrance test.
When Yang Podi walked up to the testing teacher, the surrounding teachers were all a bit surprised. Yang Podi had already reached a height of 1.7 meters. Based on his height, he didn't look like a 12-year-old at all. Especially with his muscular build, he seemed more like a grown man than a student about to enter the academy. Yang Ping'an was already considered tall and well-built for his age, but Yang Podi's stature was truly exaggerated.
The testing teacher grabbed Yang Podi's arm, examining it closely. He seemed to find something odd, then used his soul power to probe Yang Podi's arm carefully, taking much longer than he had with the other students.
Finally, the teacher spoke, "Yang Podi, bone age 12, test passed."
The students around him, also waiting for their tests, were in an uproar: "Twelve? How can a twelve-year-old be this tall?"
Next, another teacher came to test Yang Podi's martial soul and soul power. After confirming his martial soul was the Breaking Soul Spear, Yang Podi placed his hand on the crystal ball provided by the teacher.
As Yang Podi infused his soul power into the crystal ball, it lit up immediately and then shattered.
The entrance test teacher was dumbfounded. The crystal ball used for the entrance tests had never broken before. What was going on today?
Yang Podi couldn't help but speak, "Teacher, could you please bring a crystal ball meant for testing a Soul Elder? I'm a Soul Elder now."
The teacher was stunned upon hearing this. Another teacher had already tested Yang Podi's bone age and confirmed he was only 12. Now he was asking for a Soul Elder's crystal ball, meaning he had already reached Soul Elder level? There had never been a 12-year-old Soul Elder before, not in history.
The teacher hurriedly borrowed a higher-grade crystal ball from another person, and Yang Podi placed his hand on it. The crystal ball lit up instantly.
At this point, the teacher's hands were trembling. He even suspected the crystal ball might be broken, so he brought over another one. The result was the same.
Finally, the teacher, still trembling, announced, "Yang Podi, martial soul: Breaking Soul Spear, soul power level 35."
As soon as these words were spoken, everyone was shocked, especially the teachers. They had been conducting entrance tests for many years and were veterans in the Soul Master world, but they had never heard of a 12-year-old reaching level 35. What kind of monster was this?
A 12-year-old at level 35—this had to be the youngest Soul Elder in history. Two years from now, he could participate in the Soul Master Tournament. Who knew how much stronger he would become in seven years?
The teachers conferred with each other, unsure how to proceed. Ultimately, they decided to take Yang Podi to meet the three school committee members and let them make the arrangements.
The teacher then spoke, "Hello, Yang Podi. My name is Teacher Li. Regarding your classes, please come with me to meet the three committee members of Heaven Dou Royal Academy. They will collectively decide on your education and cultivation plan."
"Thank you, Teacher Li."
Teacher Li led Yang Podi away from the crowd and into the academy's interior.
A few minutes later, they arrived at the central area of Heaven Dou Royal Academy. They didn't encounter many people on the way, likely because most students were training in the mimicry environment.
The committee members' office was located at the very center of the academy's main campus. It was the largest building in the entire campus. Though it was a single-story structure, its highest point was ten meters tall.
When Yang Podi entered the committee's office, three elderly men were already seated in the center. Judging by their demeanor, they must have been the academy's three committee members. Although they were simply sitting there, an invisible aura radiated from them, indicating that all three were experts at the Soul Douluo level.
From their expressions, it seemed they had already been informed of Yang Podi's arrival.
Upon seeing the three, Teacher Li immediately saluted, "Esteemed committee members, I've brought Yang Podi."
After saluting, Teacher Li introduced them to Yang Podi, "These are the three committee members of Heaven Dou Royal Academy: Chief Committee Member Meng Shenji, Soul Douluo; Deputy Committee Member Bai Baoshan, Soul Douluo; and the third Committee Member Zhilin, Soul Douluo."
Yang Podi quickly saluted and said, "Greetings to the esteemed committee members."
The three nodded in response, acknowledging his greeting. As Soul Douluo-level experts, they could instantly assess Yang Podi's soul power level.
Meng Shenji, the chief committee member, spoke first, "Yang Podi, welcome to Heaven Dou Royal Academy. From now on, you are a student of our academy. Our Heaven Dou Battle Team is currently preparing for the Soul Master Tournament in two years. Are you interested in joining?"
Yang Podi thought for a moment before replying, "Senior Meng Shenji, my current combat experience is lacking, and I still need more training. I won't be able to participate in this Soul Master Tournament, but I will definitely take part in the next one."
Meng Shenji seemed a bit curious after hearing this, "Yang Podi, joining the Heaven Dou Battle Team would allow you to gain combat experience and practice teamwork. Wouldn't that be a good opportunity for you?"
"Senior Meng Shenji, I have my own training plans that won't allow me to participate in this tournament. However, rest assured that I will represent Heaven Dou Royal Academy in the next Soul Master Tournament."
Hearing this, Meng Shenji seemed intrigued, "Yang Podi, though your talent is outstanding, winning the Soul Master Tournament is no easy feat. It requires the cooperation of seven people."
Yang Podi's expression remained firm, "Senior Meng Shenji, you can rest assured. I am confident in winning the championship. However, I do have two conditions, and I hope the committee can grant them."
"What are your conditions?"
"I want to personally select all my team members, and no one should interfere with their training. Also, I would like a spot on the academy's second team."
"Do you already have people in mind for your team? And why the second team?"
"I'm from the Breaking Clan. Five members of the Four Single Attribute Clans have already joined the academy. Adding a few more friends, we'll be able to form a full team. The second team will give us the opportunity to participate in the qualifying matches and better train all the members."
Meng Shenji thought for a moment before replying, "I'll need to discuss your request before giving you an answer. Do you have any other requests?"
"Senior, could I be given a private residence? I prefer to cultivate in solitude and dislike being disturbed."
"That's no problem. I can grant that request right away."
"Teacher Li, please arrange for Yang Podi to join a Tiandou-level class and handle his accommodation."
Teacher Li saluted the three committee members, then led Yang Podi out of the committee office.
After they left, Meng Shenji couldn't help but speak, "What do you two think of Yang Podi's talent?"
The first to respond was Zhilin, "His talent is extraordinary. I've never seen anyone like him. To reach level 35 at just 12 years old, and his soul power is so dense. His future is boundless."
Bai Baoshan also nodded, "This child's talent is remarkable. It's a great fortune for the Breaking Clan to have such a prodigy."
Meng Shenji also nodded, "As for Yang Podi's request, we should consult with His Highness the Crown Prince and let him decide."
