Yang Podi himself felt a sense of ease, having finally completed one of his plans. Now, he could attend Heaven Dou Royal Academy with peace of mind.
Three days later, it was finally the day for the academy's opening ceremony.
Before leaving, his mother helped pack all sorts of things, from daily necessities to herbs and medicinal bath materials for cultivation. She even prepared many sets of clothes, most of which she sewed herself. They packed so much stuff, nearly filling up half of a soul tool, even including 100,000 gold soul coins, in case he needed them in the future.
Yang Ping'an, his younger brother, also had his own half-full soul tool, carrying nearly the same amount of supplies. It seemed more like they were fleeing rather than heading to school.
Originally, Yang Podi didn't want his parents to send him off, but they insisted on accompanying him to the academy, and his younger sister wanted to go along for the fun, eager to see where her brothers would be studying.
His two grandfathers also prepared various herbs and books for him, as well as healing pills.
Finally, the five of them set off in a carriage to Heaven Dou Royal Academy, with his younger sister, Yang Tianyue, more excited than even he was about going to school.
Heaven Dou Royal Academy was located outside Heaven Dou City, only 20 kilometers away, making trips back and forth from the city quite convenient. The academy covered a vast area, built on a mountain much taller than the one his clan resided on. It was about 40 kilometers away from the Breaking Clan's territory, though they were in opposite directions, making the trip slightly longer.
After about an hour's ride, they arrived at their destination. In front of them stood a tall mountain, even taller than the Qingyuan Mountain of the Breaking Clan. A wide, grand avenue led straight up the mountain, lined with lush trees on either side, hinting at the academy's excellent environment.
At the mountain's base, two guards approached them, asking, "Halt. Who are you? Why have you come to Heaven Dou Royal Academy?"
At this, Yang Zhentian, Yang Podi's father, took out the academy's admission letter.
Upon seeing the letter, the guards immediately allowed them through. These two guards, who appeared to be around thirty years old, were likely soul masters themselves with decent soul power. Their sharp eyes could quickly discern that those who came to study at Heaven Dou Royal Academy were either nobles or belonged to powerful families—people the guards could not afford to provoke.
The five of them got out of the carriage and entered the mountain. Only then did they truly realize the scale of the academy. The stone steps leading up the mountain were made of white marble, with intricate carvings of various soul beasts on each step, showcasing exquisite craftsmanship. The setting sun cast soft red shadows on the stone, adding a serene and unique beauty to the place.
After ten minutes of climbing, they reached the academy's main gate, located halfway up the mountain, which was also the entrance to the academy's main campus.
The main campus was built entirely of low-rise buildings, resembling a fortress. The surrounding wall stood five meters tall and was a bright yellow color, giving it a striking appearance. Even the top of the wall was covered with glazed tiles, which shimmered brilliantly under the sunset.
Both the grand avenue leading up the mountain and the school's construction were magnificent, showcasing the immense investment that Heaven Dou Empire had poured into the academy.
Upon entering the campus, they were quickly greeted by staff members who were clearly prepared to guide incoming students to the registration area.
At the registration area, Tyrone, Niu Meng, and Bai Xiaofei had also arrived with their families.
The registration process was quite complex. Every new student had to undergo a soul power test, a bone age test, and other assessments. These tests would help the academy evaluate the students and determine their class placement. Based on the results, the students would also be assigned dormitories.
Heaven Dou Royal Academy divided its students into three levels. New students and those with soul power below level 25 were placed in the first level, called Tianwei. Those between levels 25 and 30 were placed in the second level, Tianzhi. Students above level 30 would enter the highest level, Tiandou.
Each class was taught by different teachers. In the academy, teachers between levels 40 and 50 taught Tianwei students. Those between levels 50 and 60 taught Tianzhi students. Teachers above level 60, the Tiandou teachers, were all at least Soul Emperor-level experts, with some even higher.
Yang Podi and Yang Ping'an lined up to begin their entrance tests, while their parents and sister waited nearby.
Niu Meng, Bai Xiaofei, and Tyrone had already completed their tests and had been placed in Tianwei-level classes, though whether they were in the same class was unclear.
Yang Podi carefully observed the students ahead of him in line. Most were Tianwei-level students, though a few Tianzhi-level students occasionally appeared. These students were immediately greeted with enthusiasm by the teachers, who likely saw them as future top talents to be nurtured.
The students in line were all dressed in luxurious clothes, clearly coming from wealthy or noble backgrounds. It was said that only nobles could attend Heaven Dou Royal Academy, and from the looks of it, that seemed true. One Tianzhi-level student, in particular, appeared quite arrogant, with an air of superiority, likely a top talent cultivated by a noble family.
Finally, it was their turn to be tested, and Yang Ping'an stepped forward first.
The teacher in charge took Yang Ping'an's admission letter, carefully checking it for accuracy.
After confirming the letter matched Yang Ping'an's identity, another teacher came to conduct the bone age test.
The teacher felt Yang Ping'an's wrist for a moment before speaking: "Yang Ping'an, age 12. Confirmed."
Then the teacher continued, "Yang Ping'an, please summon your martial soul."
Yang Ping'an immediately summoned his Broken Soul Spear, which appeared in the air.
After examining his martial soul, the teacher took out a crystal ball. "Yang Ping'an, Broken Soul Spear, confirmed. Now place your hand on the crystal ball to test your soul power."
Yang Ping'an placed his hand on the crystal ball and activated his soul power, causing the ball to light up.
Upon seeing the light, the teacher became visibly excited. "Yang Ping'an, soul power level 27. Congratulations, Yang Ping'an, you are placed directly into the Tianzhi class."
After the Four Clan Gathering, Yang Ping'an had already broken through to level 27 during this period.
Heaven Dou Royal Academy placed great importance on students like him. Reaching level 27 at the age of 12 was rare, and students like him were often candidates for the Soul Master Tournament. Judging by the timeline, he would likely be one of the main participants in the next tournament.
No wonder the testing teacher was so happy.
