Chapter 58: Fusion of the Crocodile King Spear
🕑 Added 2024-10-21 20:48:59 +0000 UTCSince determining to go to the Heaven Dou Royal Academy, Yang Podi made some preparations, including some weighted equipment and tools for subsequent training, as well as several suitable Breaking Soul Spears. Of course, there were also various herbs, mainly for preparing medicinal baths.
One day, Yang Podi felt that his soul power at level 34 was very stable and solid, so he went to find his father, as he needed his father to put some pressure on him.
Yang Zhentian, seeing his son suddenly come to find him, felt a bit strange. "Podi, is there some cultivation problem you need to consult me about? I see your aura is very stable, completely adapting to the 34th level of soul power."
"Dad, I feel like I still don't have enough mastery over the Crocodile King Spear and need you to help me test it, while also testing my body's specific pressure tolerance limits."
"Podi, your external spirit bone at the tail hasn't completely merged with your body yet. Fortunately, both of your grandfathers are free today, so we can study it together."
Yang Zhentian took his son to the alchemy chamber, where his two grandfathers happened to be as well.
When the two heard the purpose of Yang Zhentian and his grandson Yang Podi's visit, they were a bit surprised, as everyone had done very little research on external spirit bones. Especially Yang Zhentian, who also had an external spirit bone in the form of a bear claw and wanted to study it further before giving it to his daughter.
"Podi, how do you want me to help you with this Crocodile King Spear?"
"Dad, it's simple: just apply pressure to me, gradually increasing it until I can't bear it anymore."
"Then you need to think carefully. The human body has a certain tolerance range, and exceeding it can easily cause hidden injuries or even lead to collapse."
"Dad, don't worry; I'm confident in myself."
Seeing his son so determined, Yang Zhentian glanced at his father and second uncle. Upon hearing his words, Yang Wudi and Yang Wushuang both nodded slightly. With them watching, there shouldn't be any major issues.
"Since that's the case, Podi, I'll start now."
As soon as Yang Zhentian finished speaking, a surge of soul power seemed to rise from his body. Yang Podi clearly felt that the air around him had become solidified, and the immense wave of soul power rushed toward him, rendering his body completely immobile.
As the soul power gradually increased, Yang Podi began to feel pressure. Yang Zhentian controlled the soul power very precisely, increasing it slowly to prevent any major leaps that could harm his son's body.
When the pressure reached level 34, Yang Podi didn't even summon his martial soul, which showed that his physical quality was somewhat exaggerated.
As the pressure continued to intensify, reaching around level 42, a look of pain appeared on Yang Podi's face.
Yang Podi seemed to understand that the limit of his physical capacity was about this level. With a flick of his right hand, a Breaking Soul Spear appeared in the chamber.
After summoning his martial soul, Yang Podi gripped the Breaking Soul Spear with his right hand, the spear standing upright, its tail pressing against the ground. He immediately felt a lot less pressure, making him feel much more relaxed.
Seeing this, Yang Zhentian continued to increase the pressure, which gradually rose from level 42 to level 48, yet it seemed not to have reached Yang Podi's limit.
This situation left both Yang Zhentian and his two grandfathers puzzled. What kind of monster was their grandson (son) that he could withstand such great pressure?
At this point, Yang Podi's body was already under immense pressure, almost reaching his limit. Then, gritting his teeth, he quickly operated his soul power again and summoned his primary martial soul.
The primary martial soul was his entire body, which outsiders couldn't probe. Even the three present could only feel that Yang Podi's soul power seemed to be undergoing some changes but couldn't discern the specifics.
Once the primary martial soul was summoned, the pressure on his body decreased again, seeming to return to a manageable range.
Yang Zhentian glanced at his father and second uncle again. After seeing both men nod slightly, he increased the pressure once more. When the pressure reached level 53, Yang Podi's body was already close to its limit, as if a great mountain were pressing down on him, leaving him unable to move. If it weren't for the Breaking Soul Spear he was holding, he would have collapsed.
For external spirit bones, merging with the primary martial soul seemed to be more challenging than merging with ordinary martial souls. After all, others only needed to integrate the external spirit bone into their body, while the whole primary martial soul required integrating the external spirit bone into the body and simultaneously into the martial soul.
Seeing that his father wasn't increasing the pressure anymore, Yang Podi, enduring the pressure, spoke up, "Increase it a bit more!"
Those few words seemed to exhaust all his strength.
Yang Zhentian saw this and raised the pressure by one level, bringing it to level 54.
At that moment, Yang Podi felt even greater pressure, as if he couldn't move at all. Every inch of his skin and every muscle felt the strain. Sweat began to bead on his forehead, and soon his entire body seemed drenched in it.
Suddenly, Yang Podi felt as though a snap echoed through his body, and he became much more relaxed, while the tail of the Crocodile King Spear seemed to spring forth from his body as if it were instinct, propping itself against the ground.
At the same time, his entire body underwent a change. His soul power finally broke through, advancing from level 34 to level 35. The feeling of the tail end of the Crocodile King Spear became much clearer, as if it had merged into one with him.
Yang Zhentian quickly withdrew his soul power and rushed to support his son. "Son, how do you feel now? Is there anything wrong with your body?"
"Dad, I feel great now! The entire external spirit bone seems to have merged with my body; I think it will be much more agile to use."
"Good! Son, you've finally succeeded! From now on, this Crocodile King Spear will be completely integrated with you; no one can take it away from you again."
Meanwhile, Yang Wudi and Yang Wushuang, standing nearby, were also filled with relief. Their grandson was safe, and he could withstand the pressure of level 54 soul power. His physical quality was simply too strong, which meant the Podi family had a bright future ahead.
As Yang Podi turned inward, he visualized in his mind a giant holding the Breaking Soul Spear. However, this giant now had an extra tail. It seemed that this time not only had he merged the external spirit bone into his body but also into his martial soul, which was an unexpected bonus.
In the future, when his primary martial soul underwent a second awakening, what changes would the Crocodile King Spear undergo? Would it also experience a second awakening? It seemed that there were no records regarding this in the original Douluo Dalu.
