Chapter 56: New Training Method
🕑 Added 2024-10-20 20:01:40 +0000 UTCThe next morning, Yang Podi arrived in the backyard to train. Not long after, his younger brother, Yang Ping'an, joined him. However, it was clear that his Soul power was relatively low due to drinking, which noticeably affected his strength compared to before.
"Brother, what's our plan for today? How should we train?" Yang Ping'an asked.
"Since everyone is together, let's take a few days to relax. Training should have balance; we can't pressure ourselves too much. If we're always tense, it can lead to injuries," Yang Podi replied.
Yang Ping'an nodded in agreement, clearly understanding that the long hours of training had been tough on him.
Ever since their second grandfather, Yang Wushuang, took Yang Ping'an as his grandson, he treated him as his own and passed on his skills to both Yang Podi and Yang Ping'an, teaching them spear techniques daily and even personally instructing Yang Ping'an in alchemy.
Though Yang Ping'an had just started learning about alchemy, he seemed eager to study it, but Yang Podi stopped him, which angered their second grandfather.
"Ping'an, you've been training with me for six years. Your progress is quite good; you've reached a level of genius. However, there are still shortcomings. To become a strong person, you need the mindset of a strong individual at all times," Yang Podi emphasized.
"Our clan doesn't lack alchemy experts or resources. What we truly lack is powerful Soul Masters who can stand tall in this world. This world revolves around Soul cultivation, so while we can dabble in alchemy, we must not become obsessed."
"Your grandfather and father's generation has already established themselves, but for our generation, we can only rely on the two of us and our little sister, Yang Tianyue. As a man, I don't like being protected by girls, which is why I'm striving to become stronger."
Hearing this, Yang Ping'an grew serious. "Don't worry, brother. I will work hard to cultivate my Soul power and protect our clan in the future."
Yang Ping'an, along with Niu Meng, Tai Long, and Bai Xiaofei, had similar talents and were of the same age, making it easy to compare their progress. Yang Podi was concerned that he might become complacent, so he said this, knowing that Yang Ping'an was truly his right-hand man. Others, like his cousin Niu Meng, were now regarded as outsiders.
Yang Podi had tried to educate his cousin a couple of times, but Niu Meng was too carefree and never listened.
At breakfast, everyone woke up, including Niu Meng, who had been drunk the previous night. He surprisingly recovered well, proving his strong defensive capabilities and excellent physical constitution.
After breakfast, the five of them explored the Defense family's estate. The Defense clan, being a family of builders, had constructed a beautiful place in Longxing City. Perhaps due to its proximity to Tiandou City, the area was quite prosperous, indicating they had made a significant amount of money in recent years, which explained why their grandfather was always smiling when greeting others.
In the afternoon, the group planned to visit Tiandou City. Yang Tianyue, having caught wind of their plans, insisted on joining, so their mother, Niu Jinfeng, took the seven children, including the young girl Bai Chenxiang from the Speed family, along with them.
The two little girls quickly bonded, appearing to have a great relationship, especially since they were both seven years old and had a lot to chat about.
As for their father, Yang Zhentian, he likely stayed back to spar with Tai Nuo and others while discussing matters regarding the clan's development.
Throughout the afternoon, the group roamed Tiandou City, shopping and exploring everything, especially the Soul Arena, which they found exhilarating and envied.
Among the five, three were only at level 21, lacking the strength to enter the arena. However, Yang Ping'an was strong enough and eager to try, but Yang Podi stopped him. This trip was mainly for fun and relaxation, and there would be many opportunities for battles in the future, which was also part of Yang Podi's plan.
The gathering lasted three days. Afterward, they left the Defense family's estate. Yang Tianyue appeared very reluctant to leave, and both she and Bai Chenxiang looked like they were about to cry. Was this what they called a deep sisterly bond? It seemed to develop too quickly.
Upon returning to the Breaking family, Yang Podi began to contemplate his future training plans. His strength was quite formidable, likely surpassing that of a Soul Ancestor, but his agility and coordination were still lacking. Simple weighted running no longer improved his agility significantly.
This made Yang Podi recall the athletes from his previous life, many of whom trained with stability balls. However, with his current capabilities, he found that it wouldn't have much effect.
Ultimately, he thought of a more extreme exercise from his past life: tire flipping. Many strong athletes favored this workout as it could build muscle while enhancing agility and balance, offering a more comprehensive training approach.
He also considered weighted rock climbing, but given the small size of Qingyuan Mountain, there weren't any suitable locations for such training.
During their visit to Tiandou City, Yang Podi had asked Tai Long from the Defense family to help customize several large round iron balls, each with a diameter of over one meter. The weights were 2000 jin, 3000 jin, and 5000 jin, with two hand grips on the surface.
The next afternoon, Yang Podi didn't join the others in training. Instead, he went to a small path on the back mountain and took out the smallest 2000 jin iron ball from his soul guide.
Then, without using any Soul power, he attempted to push the iron ball up the path to the mountain's peak.
He took turns pushing all three iron balls up the mountain. He faced many dangers along the way, but fortunately, some family seniors accompanied him.
Especially with the 5000 jin iron ball, even after using all his Soul power, he could only manage to push it halfway up the hill; reaching the peak was impossible.
By evening, Yang Podi was completely exhausted, with every muscle in his body aching. Particularly sore were the muscles that had been neglected in his previous weighted running routines, making them even more painful.
However, after a medicinal bath, the effects were even more pronounced, making every inch of his skin and every pore feel thoroughly relaxed.
Meanwhile, Yang Ping'an attempted to push the 2000 jin iron ball but found he could only move it a short distance, not even reaching halfway up the hill, and ultimately had to give up.
For the next period, Yang Podi's afternoon training shifted to pushing the iron balls, striving to get them to the mountain peak, especially the 5000 jin one. Unfortunately, up until now, he hadn't succeeded even once.
Nonetheless, Yang Podi seemed to revel in the challenge, trying multiple times each day until he was utterly exhausted, lying down from depleting his Soul power.
Despite this rigorous training, he was gaining strength and improving his agility. Especially when pushing the iron balls uphill, he had no foothold on the balls, relying solely on his entire body to propel them forward.
