Chapter 13 Exciting American Life
🕑 Added 2024-09-03 11:11:47 +0000 UTCDuring the filming in Kauai, Hawaii, although Gwyneth Paltrow, as the heroine, had her own separate hotel room, the girl still preferred to sleep in the same room with Gilbert Jr.
The people in the crew were used to this. After all, if it weren't for Gwyneth Paltrow, their young director would have had a hard time getting the opportunity to direct so early.
It is quite common in Hollywood for directors to sleep with their female leads, especially in the independent film industry.
Moreover, Hollywood bigwigs have special hobbies. You may think it is just one man and one woman, but it may be two men, or two women, or even three or four.
Relatively speaking, the independent film circle is more chaotic, while the mainstream film circle is more formal.
At the very least, you can sleep your way into a leading role in the independent film industry, but this trick doesn't work in the mainstream film industry, or it doesn't work very well.
But for Gilbert Jr. and Gwyneth Paltrow, the situation is very different and not quite the same.
Gwyneth Paltrow called her relationship with Gilbert Jr. a temporary partnership, admitting only that she was obsessed with Gilbert Jr.'s body, not him as a person.
For a while, little Gilbert felt that he was being a hooligan. According to the traditional concept of the country on the other side of the Pacific Ocean, since he had sex with someone, he had to give an explanation.
But later, seeing that Gwyneth Paltrow looked indifferent, Gilbert Jr. temporarily put aside his psychological burden.
Even in the country across the Pacific Ocean, young people's outlook on life has undergone tremendous changes in the past two or three decades.
There are also many relationships similar to temporary partners, and there is a more appropriate name, called fuck buddies.
However, this temporary partnership ended temporarily with the arrival of Gwyneth Paltrow's father, Mr. Paltrow.
Mr. Paltrow is a very traditional and conservative person. He hates the so-called free culture of men and women, so he naturally forbids his daughter to mess around.
Gwyneth Paltrow had no choice but to sleep in her own room.
The night before Mr. Paltrow arrived, Gwyneth Paltrow had a vigorous workout with Gilbert Jr. until she was so exhausted that she couldn't move a finger.
The next day, when Gwyneth Paltrow returned to the hotel room she had never stayed in, she left her sexy pajamas to little Gilbert as a souvenir.
" Gilbert, my father is watching me this time. I guess he will take me home after the filming." Gwyneth Paltrow looked at little Gilbert with tears in her eyes.
Gilbert couldn't say anything. Should I go and talk to your father and ask him to give you freedom?
According to Gwyneth Paltrow's description, Gilbert Jr. is likely to be sued by Mr. Paltrow for indecency.
Even if he cannot be convicted by then, he will still be in trouble.
This is... just very frustrating.
Sighing, Little Gilbert opened his arms: Then it's okay for us to hug, right?"
Gwyneth Paltrow burst into laughter: "Of course you can."
The two hugged each other and exchanged air for the last time.
Gwyneth Paltrow was still not satisfied, and whispered in Gilbert's ear: "Don't worry, I will find a chance to escape. I can't forget the happiness you brought me..."
"Okay, okay, it's not necessarily a bad thing to listen to your father. Let's go, your father will be here soon." Gilbert patted Gwyneth Paltrow's butt and walked her out of the room.
"I'm leaving now. Remember to miss me on the nights without me!" Gwyneth Paltrow followed closely, very reluctant to leave, and finally returned to her room.
Gilbert returned to the bed and stared blankly at the chandelier on the ceiling, with all sorts of random thoughts in his mind.
To be honest, in the past few years since coming to North America, Gilbert Jr. feels that his outlook on life has undergone significant changes.
It's hard to say whether it has gotten better or worse, I can only say that I have become more adapted to the social environment in North America. In the afternoon, little Gilbert met Gwyneth Paltrow's rigid father.
Mr. Paltrow looked at him as if he were a criminal, which made little Gilbert a little scared.
However, Gwyneth Paltrow may have kept her mouth shut and prevented Mr. Paltrow from getting any evidence, so little Gilbert escaped Mr. Paltrow's gaze. But, just like cheating, there are only zero times and countless times.
During a break in filming one day, while Mr. Paltrow was strolling in Honolulu, Gwyneth Paltrow took Gilbert to hide in a remote place.
"I say, why did you pull me here?" Little Gilbert was still puzzled Unexpectedly, Gwyneth Paltrow came up and started to take off her clothes, and said anxiously: "Hurry up, my father will be back in the afternoon and there will be no time."
Gilbert was speechless for a moment. So they pulled him here just for this? In broad daylight, in the wild, this... this is too embarrassing, right?
Gwyneth Paltrow didn't care about that. She took off Gilbert's clothes, squatted down and started to practice yoga.
This kind of scene, which can usually only be seen in various indescribable movies, is actually happening at this moment.
The most important thing is that there are cars and pedestrians passing by on the avenue outside from time to time, and the small bushes can't block the spring scenery at all.
As long as someone paid the slightest attention to this side, the two of them would be discovered.
Perhaps because of this sense of stimulation, today's yoga experience was very special and fast.
After finishing yoga, Gwyneth Paltrow wiped her mouth and reminded Gilbert: "Don't show any flaws when you go back, don't get caught."
After saying that, she walked away swaying her long legs, leaving little Gilbert disheveled in the wind.
In the following days, Gwyneth Paltrow occasionally looked for similar opportunities to spend the night with Gilbert, even though it was summer.
Every time Gilbert was afraid that Mr. Paltrow would come and discover what they were doing, but he had to admit that it was quite exciting and addictive.
Perhaps it was because of this thrilling action that Gwyneth Paltrow found her feeling and her performance became better and better in subsequent acting.
These exciting days came to an end only when the filming of "The Shallows" was completed and Gwyneth Paltrow returned to Los Angeles with Mr. Paltrow.
Although he was very cheerful,Gilbert still remained sober amid the passion. He knows very well what the foundation of everything is, which is his career as a director. If he can't do this well, then everything else will be far away from him.
The final result is nothing more than falling to the same level as old Gilbert, who has to seek help from bar girls.
Whether they were in love or not was another matter, after all, the American girl had no intention of talking about love with him. But Gilbert didn't want to give his noble body to the bar girl, as it would be a loss.
By the way, it wasn't Gilbert who thought his body was noble, it was Gwyneth Paltrow who said so.
After all, he inherited the genes of old Gilbert, so his physical fitness and abilities in all aspects are quite strong.
After finishing the filming in Hawaii, Gilbert Jr. had a simple wrap-up dinner of American fried chicken and announced the disbandment of the crew.
He then returned to Los Angeles with the finished film and plunged into post-production editing.
Universal Pictures followed Spielberg's advice and allowed Gilbert Jr. to participate in the post-editing process, allowing Gilbert Jr. to take control of the post-production of his own film.
In addition to participating in the editing work, Gilbert Jr. also paid attention to the shark effects produced by Industrial Light & Magic.
The special effects technology of this era is still far behind that of 20 or 30 years later, but Industrial Light & Magic's technology is already top-notch.
From Gilbert's perspective, it was just that, but in the eyes of the crew's producer, Tom Blake, the image of the shark was vivid and scary enough.
Throughout the film, Gilbert Jr. used superb camera techniques to replace a large number of shots of sharks appearing from a subjective perspective, so there are not many scenes in the film where sharks appear.
If the entire film had sharks, the production cost of $3.5 million would definitely not be enough.
In fact, this is also the subtraction made by the original film in order to reduce and compress production costs as much as possible.
What Little Gilbert did was the same as the original, to produce the best effect at an appropriate production cost.
However, the actual effect of the film will depend on what the final film looks like.
Gilbert Jr. had a clear vision of the finished film in his mind.
So during post-production, Gilbert Jr. tried his best to control the rhythm so that the film could be completed in the direction he expected.
However, doing so would be equivalent to depriving the editor of his power, and thus some disagreements and disputes are inevitable.
