Chapter 22: The First Meditation
🕑 Added 2024-10-03 04:59:42 +0000 UTCYang Podi took the book handed to him by his father and began to read carefully. Meditation, in itself, was actually quite simple—every soul master knew how to do it.
Thinking of this, Yang Podi couldn't help but recall Tang San's "Mysterious Heaven Technique". It could be considered an alternative form of meditation, connecting the current meditation techniques to the internal energy meridians of martial arts worlds. From a certain perspective, it was a more advanced form of meditation. After all, in the world of "Douluo Dalu", there was no such thing as meridians, and the "Mysterious Heaven Technique" made meditation more tangible, thus improving its effectiveness.
With these thoughts in mind, Yang Podi began his first meditation.
Closing his eyes, Yang Podi carefully observed the flow of soul power within his body. As time passed, he gradually gained control over the flow of his soul power, guiding it throughout his body. As his soul power circulated, it seemed to resonate with the soul power in the air, which slowly seeped into his body, slightly increasing his overall soul power.
His first meditation lasted for a full two hours. After that, Yang Podi opened his eyes. "Dad, I just finished my first meditation. I feel like my soul power has increased a little."
Yang Zhentian inspected his son's body closely and, seeing no issues, said, "Son, meditation is a process of accumulation. Only through constant meditation can you become stronger. You did very well for your first time, which shows your talent for cultivation is quite impressive."
"However, son, as a battle soul master, you need to focus not only on meditation but also on combat skills and physical training. These three elements are indispensable."
"Dad, I understand. Don't worry, I've already started drafting a detailed training plan." With that, Yang Podi pulled out a training method for his father to review.
As someone who had read the original work, Yang Podi naturally knew some effective training methods and was also aware of what the true priorities were.
The training method was very detailed. Every morning after waking up, he would practice basic spear techniques. In the late morning, he would attend lessons to learn foundational knowledge.
In the afternoon, he would do weighted running, with the specific weight adjusted according to his physical condition. The weighted training included running around the clan grounds or climbing "Qingyuan Mountain", as well as weighted frog jumps and swimming.
After running, he would take a medicinal bath.
The evening meal followed, and after dinner, he would meditate.
Due to his young age, there were no combat plans for the time being.
"Son, your training plan is quite thorough, but don't you think the intensity is a bit high? After all, you're still just a child, only six years old."
"Dad, that's where you're wrong. The younger you are, the better the results from training."
"Alright, but you must be careful with your body. Don't overtrain and end up with hidden injuries."
"Dad, that's where you come in. You need to adjust the medicinal bath recipe according to my body's condition."
"You little rascal! Speaking of medicinal baths, our "Breaking Clan"has the most powerful formulas in all of "Douluo Dalu" Even the disciples of "Clear Sky Sect" used our medicinal baths, including "Tang Hao" and "Tang Xiao"."
That evening, Yang Zhentian took his son's training plan to his father.
"Dad, what do you think of your grandson? This training plan is quite good, isn't it?"
Yang Wudi carefully reviewed the plan, occasionally nodding. "Not bad, this plan is excellent. As expected of my grandson."
"But Zhentian, didn't you notice any issues?"
"Dad, I think the plan is pretty solid. What could be wrong with it?"
Yang Wudi looked at his son with exasperation. "Podi is just a six-year-old child. Are you really going to let him train by himself? What if something dangerous happens during the training? And besides, you're the clan's deputy leader. This training plan is so good—have you not considered rolling it out for the entire clan?"
After his father's reprimand, Yang Zhentian felt a bit embarrassed. He had come to boast and show off but was instead scolded.
"Zhentian, what are you waiting for? Go invite your uncle and the elders over here immediately."
Little did Yang Podi know, his training plan would lead to a grueling training regimen for all the children of the "Breaking Clan"
The next day after breakfast, Yang Podi arrived alone at the clan's education area, where all twelve children who had awakened their martial souls alongside him were already present.
There were five or six small houses in total, each filled with children, all of whom had awakened their martial souls over the years. The number of children in each house varied. This year saw the most martial soul awakenings—13 in total—whereas previous years usually saw ten or eight children, and the lowest year had only five.
The teachers were some of the elderly members of the clan. Since their bodies were beginning to decline, they were no longer fit to go out or perform clan duties, so they had been invited by "Yang Wudi" to take on the responsibility of educating the younger generation.
These teachers were highly respected and knowledgeable. No child dared disobey them, as they weren't afraid to use corporal punishment, and no one would dare raise any objections afterward.
The morning classes covered various subjects, including the application of spear techniques, basic knowledge of medicinal herbs, meditation techniques for the "Breaking Soul Spear", and an introduction to the different martial souls of "Douluo Dalu "
The content of the classes was much broader and more specialized than that of a regular academy, with much of it being the result of the **Breaking Clan's** accumulated knowledge over many generations.
In the afternoon, Yang Podi had originally planned to train on his own, but he was informed that all the children of the **Breaking Clan** would be training together from then on.
When Yang Podi arrived at the training field in the afternoon, he was speechless.
The field was filled with weight vests of various sizes, from a few kilograms to several hundred kilograms.
All the children of the **Breaking Clan**, from all age groups, were present. There were at least 50 or 60 of them in total.
It seemed that during the **Clear Sky Sect's** war, the children of the **Breaking Clan** had remained largely unharmed. Some had accompanied the clan to **Heaven Dou City**, while others had come from elsewhere, likely arranged by the clan.
That afternoon's training involved all the children climbing the mountain while carrying weights. The youngest and physically weakest children were only required to climb the mountain without weights.
The goal was clear: to exhaust every child by the end of the afternoon. The teachers closely monitored each child's physical condition to prevent any accidents.
And so, Yang Podi began his cultivation journey, laying the foundation for all future training.
