Chapter 16: Leaving the Clear Sky Sect
🕑 Added 2024-10-02 15:40:18 +0000 UTCAfter four single-attribute clans broke through the encirclement of the Martial Soul Hall, Yang Wudi, Titan, Bai He, and Niu Gao gathered again.
This time, they discussed the direction they would go after leaving, as well as their respective plans for the future.
Titan intended to go to Heaven Dou City, as that was where the Strength Clan had developed. Niu Gao and Bai He wanted to head to the Star Luo Empire. On one hand, the Star Luo Empire was strong, and the Martial Soul Hall might not dare to act recklessly there. On the other hand, the Star Luo Empire was the ancestral land or origin of their clans, and both clans had some industry there. Rebuilding would not be too difficult.
Yang Wudi was a bit hesitant. Logically, the Star Luo Empire was a good place, but his clan's younger generation was almost entirely in Heaven Dou City. Developing there also had its advantages.
After some discussion, when Niu Gao learned that his daughter and grandson were also in Heaven Dou City, he thought for a moment and decided to go to Heaven Dou City first.
As for Bai He of the Speed Clan, seeing that the other three intended to go to Heaven Dou City, and knowing that the limitations of his own clan were too great, had no choice but to follow them for now. As for future development, that would have to be reconsidered. The immediate priority was to escape the current crisis.
After the battle, the single-attribute clans suffered significant losses. Except for the Breaking Clan, the other three clans lost more than half their members. The Breaking Clan, which originally had about 700 people, still had over 400.
The Breaking Clan's relatively lower losses were mainly because they didn't have the burden of children. They didn't need to divide their forces to protect them. Additionally, during the breakout, the older members fought at the front, sacrificing themselves for the clan.
In the end, the four clans decided to head to Heaven Dou City first, leaving future development plans for later.
Although the Martial Soul Hall allowed the single-attribute clans to break through, things were not so simple. They sent many people to pursue them.
However, fortune favored them.
An hour into their mad dash towards Heaven Dou City, they encountered a large group ahead, which turned out to be reinforcements from the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan, sent to aid the Clear Sky Sect. Even the clan leader Ning Fengzhi and Sword Douluo were present.
With Ning Fengzhi, Sword Douluo, and the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan's large group of soul masters, the pursuing Martial Soul Hall forces had no choice but to give up, reducing the losses of the single-attribute clans.
Ning Fengzhi and Sword Douluo were surprised to see members of the Clear Sky Sect's affiliated clans fleeing. The Clear Sky Sect had always been known for its fierce and domineering reputation, so why would they flee?
But the top three sects had always stood together. Since they were already there to support the Clear Sky Sect, they decided to save the fleeing people first. Sword Douluo stepped forward alone, blocking the pursuers with just his sword.
Although the Martial Soul Hall had won the battle against the Clear Sky Sect, their losses were significant. They had no intention of starting another fight with the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan. The pursuing forces had no choice but to retreat. Of course, the pursuit didn't include any Title Douluo, as that would have affected the reputation of the Martial Soul Hall.
When Ning Fengzhi and Sword Douluo heard about the fate of the Clear Sky Sect and their decision to withdraw from the spirit master world, they were stunned. After a moment of thought, they decided to camp their troops and wait for the other forces to arrive before deciding on the next steps.
Half a day later, in a hastily constructed conference room, the leaders of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan (Ning Fengzhi and Sword Douluo), the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan (Yu Yuanzhen), and the Heaven Dou Empire's Prince Xue Xing, along with the leaders of the four single-attribute clans, gathered.
After Yang Wudi recounted the events of the battle, along with some other information, everyone present was shocked.
Who could have imagined that the world's number one sect would lose its leader, suffer heavy casualties within its ranks, and ultimately choose to withdraw from the soul master world? The news left everyone in a state of unease.
After a long silence, Ning Fengzhi spoke, "As soon as we received the news, we gathered our forces and rushed over as quickly as possible. But who could have guessed the Martial Soul Hall would act so swiftly and ruthlessly?"
"If the Martial Soul Hall had acted half a day or even just a day later, with the combined forces of our four sects, this situation might not have happened."
Yu Yuanzhen and Prince Xue Xing remained silent. Their forces had also acted immediately upon hearing the news, but they were still too late.
After a moment of thought, the old dragon Yu Yuanzhen spoke, "The Martial Soul Hall's actions this time, whether it was releasing information, gathering their forces, or deploying Title Douluo to the Clear Sky Sect, were all calculated with extreme precision. It will be difficult to deal with them in the future."
With the Clear Sky Sect withdrawing, the three major forces felt immense pressure.
When they heard that the four single-attribute clans intended to go to Heaven Dou City, they were surprised. Prince Xue Xing was especially pleased. The single-attribute clans were strong and well-known. If they came to Heaven Dou City, it would increase the strength of the Heaven Dou Empire. Moreover, the clans harbored a deep hatred for the Martial Soul Hall, making them natural allies.
Ning Fengzhi and Yu Yuanzhen also extended invitations for the clans to develop near their own sects, but the offers were politely declined.
Having been abandoned by the Clear Sky Sect after their families were attacked and being chased by the Martial Soul Hall, Yang Wudi and the other leaders were filled with resentment. They were not inclined to join other sects.
In the end, after Prince Xue Xing repeatedly guaranteed, and even made decisions on behalf of the Heaven Dou Empire's Emperor Xue Ye regarding the clans' lands and future development, the four clans decided to lead their people to Heaven Dou City.
With that, the Clear Sky Sect's war came to an end.
In no time, news spread throughout the soul master world. Due to a disciple's killing of Martial Soul Hall's Pope Qian Xunji, the once-dominant Clear Sky Sect, the world's number one sect, withdrew from the spirit master world. Sect Leader Tang Zhen was dead, and Tang Hao had been expelled from the sect.
The single-attribute clans, who had once been affiliated with the Clear Sky Sect, also officially announced their departure and headed to Heaven Dou City for development.
The entire Douluo Continent was shaken.
The Clear Sky Sect had always been famous for its dominance and strength. Its former leader, Tang Chen, was once invincible, and their Clear Sky Hammer was known as the number one tool spirit, even regarded by many as the number one spirit in the world. But now, they had fallen so low.
At the same time, within the ancestral land of the Clear Sky Sect, everyone was dressed in mourning. Numerous coffins filled the hall, with Sect Leader Tang Zhen at the center, and the Grand Elder slightly off to the side.
The war had been devastating for the Clear Sky Sect. Sect Leader Tang Zhen and the Grand Elder, both Title Douluo, were dead. Of the more than two thousand inner sect disciples, fewer than 800 remained, with a casualty rate exceeding sixty percent.
The single-attribute clans, once affiliated with the sect, were forced to leave and withdraw from the spirit master world. The backbone of the once-dominant Clear Sky Sect had been broken, and it was unlikely they would ever return to their former glory.
In the Heaven Dou Empire, in the province of Fasno, a middle-aged man with a scruffy beard sat with a newborn child. Upon hearing the news of the Clear Sky Sect, he kept drinking, his face streaked with tears. He muttered to himself repeatedly, "I am the Clear Sky Sect's sinner."
