Chapter 4: Escape Plan
🕑 Added 2024-10-02 15:33:14 +0000 UTCAs time passed, Yang Podi was now five years old.
During this time, he had discussed the issues surrounding the Clear Sky Sect with his parents and grandfather many times, including some of the hidden dangers of the Clear Sky Sect, but each time, he ended up being scolded by all three.
In their eyes, the Clear Sky Sect was like the sky itself. According to Grandpa Yang Wudi, the Breaking Clan was originally just a small family. After following the Clear Sky Sect, it gradually developed. Now the overall strength of the Breaking Clan had reached 700 people, and the number of direct disciples had reached 300. In terms of the number of soul masters alone, it had already become a medium-sized sect.
To put it in perspective, during the Spirit Hall's Soul Hunting Operation, the entire Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan only had 1,800 people. The Seven Treasures Glazed Tile Sect, at its peak, lost 2,000 people during the Soul Hunting Operation, which was more than two-thirds of its members, and 40% of its disciples who were outside at the time were killed by the Martial Soul Hall. It was estimated that the entire Seven Treasures Glazed Tile Sect now had around 3,500 to 4,000 soul masters. The Clear Sky Sect was the strongest, but it was unknown whether they had 5,000 soul masters.
Of course, the reason these major sects could remain in the top three was mainly because they had Titled Douluo. A Titled Douluo was like a nuclear weapon during this time.
Every time I spoke to my parents about this, their expressions would change. It seemed like I would have to find a solution on my own.
That day, Yang Podi was alone in his room, staring at a large map of the Douluo Continent spread out on his table.
Looking at this map, I fell into deep thought.
There were three circles drawn on the map, marking Star Luo City, Heaven Dou City, and Hanhai City.
Given the current strength of the Martial Soul Hall, only these three places seemed relatively safe.
From what I recall in the original story, the Breaking Clan suffered the least losses among the four single-attribute clans. The number of survivors after the war was double that of the other clans. No wonder Titan remained loyal to Tang Hao later. If more than two-thirds of the Breaking Clan had died, Titan wouldn't have stayed loyal at all.
I carefully analyzed these three places.
Star Luo City might be the safest. The Star Luo Empire was strong, but its royal family was too powerful. The major sects generally didn't develop within the Star Luo Empire. If the Breaking Clan moved to Star Luo City, they might end up as vassals to the Star Luo royal family.
Hanhai City was too far away, and there weren't any major powers there to protect us. Plus, the city was primarily populated by sea soul masters. The Breaking Clan might not even adapt well to the environment there. The only advantage was that it was relatively free, but the risk was much higher.
Heaven Dou City seemed safer, and the Heaven Dou royal family was relatively weak. If the Breaking Clan stationed itself there, the Heaven Dou royal family would probably welcome them. The downside was that they would eventually have to face Qian Renxue and her two Titled Douluo bodyguards.
After considering everything, Heaven Dou City seemed the most suitable, not to mention it offered the best opportunity for what I wanted. Although I hadn't yet awakened my martial soul, if my innate soul power turned out to be too low when I did awaken, or if my martial soul mutated negatively, I could still change my fate there.
The biggest issue now was figuring out how to get the family to Heaven Dou City. Even if the entire Breaking Clan couldn't go, I had to find a way to get at least some of them there.
Lately, I had been visiting my grandfather Yang Wudi's room every day, hoping to find some clues or opportunities from him, but I hadn't found anything yet.
Finally, I had no choice but to speak to Grandpa Yang Wudi directly.
When he saw me coming, he smiled. "Podi, what brings you here today? You've been coming by a lot lately."
Hearing his question, I answered seriously, "Grandpa, I've been having a very bad feeling recently. I'm afraid something big is going to happen to our Breaking Clan."
"Podi, have you been sick lately? How about I take a look at you?"
"Grandpa, I'm not sick. I truly feel like something bad is going to happen."
"Podi, your mindset is wrong. As a member of our Breaking Clan, no matter what difficulties or enemies we face, we always charge forward and never retreat, even if we die in battle."
Hearing this, my face was filled with worry, even with a hint of despair.
Judging by my grandfather's expression, as well as the attitudes of the rest of the Breaking Clan, they all seemed overly confident in the Clear Sky Sect and were willing to risk their lives.
I gritted my teeth. No, I couldn't just sit around and wait for death. For the sake of the Breaking Clan and myself, I had to find a way out. If all else failed, I would act desperate and beg my parents to take me to Heaven Dou City.
With that in mind, I went to find my mother, Niu Jinfeng.
When she saw me, she immediately noticed something was off. "Podi, what's wrong? You look a bit strange."
I looked at her seriously. "Mom, do you trust me?"
"Podi, what's going on with you? Why are you being so serious all of a sudden? Of course I trust you."
"Mom, I've been feeling very uneasy lately. I really think something terrible is going to happen to our Breaking Clan. Why don't we go to Heaven Dou City?"
"Podi, I think you're not feeling well. How about I ask your father and grandpa to check on you?"
"Mom, I'm telling the truth. Our family might really be in danger."
"We're a subordinate clan of the Clear Sky Sect, the number one sect in the world. How could we be in danger? I'll make a deal with you: if we defeat the enemy, I'll take you to Heaven Dou City for a visit later."
After hearing this, I had no choice but to return to my room, disappointed.
It was clear that my mother was just placating me. No one believed that our Breaking Clan was in any danger. The Clear Sky Sect was a powerful and deep-rooted sect, and everyone had lived in comfort for too long, losing their sense of danger.
I made up my mind. If things got worse, I would leave on my own. Once I arrived in Heaven Dou City, my parents would definitely come looking for me. That way, the three of us would be safe. As for the rest of the clan, I couldn't worry about them right now. I couldn't afford to die before I even awakened my martial soul. That would make me the most miserable time traveler ever.
I acted quickly, packing my clothes, a small bag, and my usual soul-breaking spear. I also took a few gold soul coins and slipped out of the family home through the back door.
As soon as I left, the news reached my grandfather, Yang Wudi.
At that moment, in Yang Wudi's room, my grandfather Yang Wudi, my second grandfather Yang Wushuang, my father Yang Zhentian, my mother Niu Jinfeng, and several elders of the clan who were Soul Saints, were all gathered.
When they heard I had slipped out, they were all surprised—except for Yang Wudi, who remained silent.
Niu Jinfeng looked anxious. "Podi has always been so obedient. What happened this time? I'll go bring him back."
Just as she was about to leave, Yang Wudi spoke up. "Jinfeng, wait a moment."
She turned around, confused.
Yang Wudi thought for a moment and pulled out a piece of paper from his robe.
