Chapter 2 Timeline
🕑 Added 2024-10-02 11:12:46 +0000 UTCEver since I could speak, I've been curious and liked asking my parents all sorts of questions, especially about their Martial Soul.
My father, Yang Zhentian, possesses the Soul-Breaking Spear as his martial soul and has a spirit power level of 71. My mother, Niu Jinfeng, has the Armor Plated Giant Rhinoceros martial soul with a spirit power level of 63. My grandfather, Yang Wudi, also wields the Soul-Breaking Spear, and his spirit power is at level 77.
Wait, my grandfather's spirit power is at level 77? How is that possible? I remember in the original story, he was at level 82. But that was decades later, which means his spirit power barely advanced all these years? Why does it seem like everyone is so unmotivated when there are such strong enemies outside?
Moreover, my father is as obsessed with refining medicine as my grandfather. For both of them, medicine refining seems more important than cultivation. Especially since my grandfather is an elder of the outer sect of the Clear Sky Sect, very few dare to provoke him.
At the age of two, I finally understood the current timeline.
On this day, I was talking with my parents—more like a child asking random questions.
"Dad, Mom, is the Clear Sky Sect really that powerful now?"
Both my parents were filled with pride. "Of course, our Clear Sky Sect is known as the best sect in the world."
I looked puzzled. "Dad, since the Clear Sky Sect is the best sect in the world, there should be many masters, right?"
"Of course. The previous sect leader of the Clear Sky Sect was a level 99 Ultimate Douluo, invincible in the world."
"But Dad, hasn't the old sect leader been missing for many years?"
"You don't know this, but it's said that the old sect leader went into seclusion for cultivation, so he handed over the leadership to the current sect leader."
"What about the current sect leader's strength?"
"The current leader, Tang Zhen, is incredibly powerful. He's already a level 95 Titled Douluo."
"A Titled Douluo? Is that very strong?"
"Of course! Titled Douluo are incredibly powerful. Each one can dominate the world and be invincible."
"If Titled Douluo are so powerful, does our Clear Sky Sect have many of them?"
My father smiled. "Son, Titled Douluo are rare. In our Clear Sky Sect, there are only four Titled Douluo in total. Besides the past and current sect leaders, only the first and second elders are Titled Douluo."
I thought to myself: Four Titled Douluo. Excluding the old sect leader Tang Chen, that means the Clear Sky Sect only has three Titled Douluo, with the strongest at level 95. That's too weak.
I suddenly remembered something important. "Dad, I think I heard someone talking about the Clear Sky Twin Stars. Who are they?"
"Son, where did you hear about the Clear Sky Twin Stars?"
"I just heard it mentioned a few times, so I got curious."
My father was filled with admiration. "The Clear Sky Twin Stars are your uncles Tang Xiao and Tang Hao. They both held you when you were born."
"What are they like now? Why are they called the Clear Sky Twin Stars?"
"Both Tang Xiao and Tang Hao are extremely talented. They became famous at a young age. With their abilities, they'll soon become Titled Douluo, which is why they're called the Clear Sky Twin Stars."
I asked the most important question. "How old are they now?"
"Your uncle Tang Xiao is 56, and your uncle Tang Hao is 41. Both are still Soul Douluo. In less than ten years, our Clear Sky Sect will have two more Titled Douluo."
"Are they in the sect right now?"
"No. When you were born two years ago, Tang Xiao returned to the sect, but Tang Hao left with his wife to train."
After chatting a bit more, I went back to my room. Even though I'm only two years old, I can already sleep on my own in a small room next to my parents. My mother checks on me several times a night.
In my room, I started thinking.
If I calculated correctly, Tang Hao will become a Titled Douluo at 44, which means that in three years, Tang San will be born. And three years later, the Pope of Marital Soul Hall, Qian Xunji, will be seriously injured by Tang Hao.
That means, in just over three years, a war will break out between the Clear Sky Sect and Martial Soul Hall. After the war, the Clear Sky Sect will retreat and abandon the four single-attribute clans, leading to their near destruction.
Tang Xiao probably broke through to Titled Douluo within the last two years.
When it comes to cultivation, I can't help but be frustrated. My grandfather is already at level 77, but after 28 years, during the Battle of Jialing Pass, he only reached level 82. What's with this slow spirit power increase? Does my grandfather's talent max out at level 82?
As for my parents, they didn't even exist in the original story. I wonder if they died during the war?
The future seems bleak. The genocide war is like a sword hanging over my head. And even if I tried to warn everyone, I'd probably be dissected and studied the moment I opened my mouth.
I have to admit, the Tang family is ridiculously talented. Tang San, with twin martial souls and the blessings of fate, has a perfect background. He has connections with nearly every major force on the continent. Nobody would dare touch him.
As for Tang Xiao, within 20 years, he advanced from a regular Titled Douluo to a level 97 Super Douluo. That's not slow at all. Just look at Bone Douluo, who remained at level 95 his whole life, and Yu Yuanzhen of the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon family, who also capped at level 95.
Tang Hao, after absorbing his wife's spirit ring, remained stagnant for 15 years, but still managed to reach level 95. After losing a hand and a foot, he quickly advanced to level 96 and even healed himself. His growth is truly extraordinary.
I sighed. No matter what, I have to find a way to avoid the genocide in three years. I'm just a kid, and even though I'm the grandson of the clan leader, I probably have zero standing in the clan.
If my martial soul hasn't awakened in three years, no one will take me seriously.
After thinking it over, the best course of action is to hide. I'll need to plan carefully and find a way to avoid the upcoming war.
As for the later battles at Jialing Pass... those are none of my concern.
