Important note Kumoko has not been a Taratect since she became a Zoa Ele.

Heretic magic attacks the mind/soul that spell was black spear.

Only the Arch was on par with a dragon.

So in the book, the fight with her siblings takes place in the labyrinth on the first stratum before she kills Araba. After fighting the Fire Dragon in the Middle Stratum she realizes Mother is trying to control her so she sends the parallel minds then that's why they're not shown even in the anime in the fights with Araba and her siblings. Also, she knew the attack was going to happen eventually and wasn't actually scared of them because she had already planned out her counter attack unlike in the anime.

The anime focusing on Anna is dumb because it leads to nothing they just somehow expect the viewer to realize she's a half-elf and that full elves don't like them. Maybe for readers of the book where all that is spelled out earlier but for the average viewer it's poorly done.

The fortress she nuked from orbit was just for general monsters something like Mother or Araba wouldn't even flinch at a fortress like that.

Not sure what you consider modern, but my favorite isekais are 1. Re Zero 2. Spider(ignoring animation, especially toward end) 3. Slime
Damiester
This, Grimgar and Tsukimichi are my favourite modern isekais right now. They just handle worldbuilding differently.
