Or what doesn't make him since he seems to have always been trying to live up to the image of his father while also falling into self-loathing and depression. Can't wait to see where our MC goes from here.

Echina or whatever should know subaru is from another world now. Im curious if this will have any impact on the story.

Thats sad. To think...this was a great moment for Suburu, but it does nothing for his confused and grieving parents back in his world. :(

Subaru never died , he got transported to another world (he is a missing person in his old one) Someone actually asked the author how Subaru's parents are doing in a Q&A and he answered :They’re enduring the disappearance of their eldest son somehow or other. The police investigation has no leads, and Kenichi is trying to comfort Naoko but it’s not that effective. They’re passing each day tearfully.
