I'm grateful that you, the Patrons of Smarter Every Day, have long been aware of this project and have been so supportive. I'm excited to see if we can tool this thing up... but I'm simultaneously scared that we might not be able to figure it out well.
Thank you for being so supportive and making this project happen! I now know how to CNC machine, I know more about stamping and injection molding.... all kinds of things. I'm grateful for this knowledge, and I'm looking forward to investing whatever comes out of this into manufacturing hardware.

I really wish I would have been more attentive. I was a Product Manager for over a decade and worked with a lot of American manufacturing companies. I was just watching your scrubber video, Destin, and while it seems easier to get molds made in China, molds can be and are made in the US. They are usually made with more robust cycle intent, but usually costs 3-4x more, as well. I worked with both injection and blow mold manufacturers. LMK if I can help with any contacts if still needed or needed in the future for other projects.

I'm late to the entire chainmaille discussion, and I doubt this is a new bit of information for you, but if you're still trying to source another manufacturer, the Canadian company The Ring Lord https://theringlord.com/ has done large scale welded chainmaille projects. I don't work for them so no clue what their scale capabilities are, but feels like it's worth a shot. Canada is in the exact same situation, so it'd be great if we learned some of the lessons you learned on this project.

You shoud check out some of the newer machines that can work with metal like the GWEIKE M Series: 6-in-1 Laser Machine for Your Workshop. It has a active Kickstarter. Might be an alternative to an old school CNC machine.

Good job. Well rounded video. Product idea suggestion: sell separately just the hand held part without the long handle. (A tad cheaper and easier to ship) My wife loves cast iron and I hate cleaning them while touching the chain mail.
