My Covenant - The Vicious Vampire Queen: Chapter 1
🕑 Added 2025-03-23 20:21:12 +0000 UTCWhether, it’s being a knight in shining armor, a princess throwing down her hair to Prince Charming, or forgetting that crystal shoe before the clock strikes twelve. Everyone wants to have their fantasy life and all their dreams come true in a whole new world. To fly up into the sky on a magic carpet ride, while gazing at the stars with your crush.
I’m sure nine times out of ten, if you got a chance at a second life, they would want it to be magical. Having a golden spoon or being the Superman of that world. To be given the opportunity to turn all your ambitions of your past life into reality.
But what happens if your second life origin story is so far from what you expected it turned you into something your past self couldn’t even recognize? If the whole world started looking down on you because of one incident that spiraled out of control and destroyed your standing in the world.
What if you were always supposed to be the villain instead of the hero? Whether it is genetically or fated, eventually you will find your rightful place. Most villains in any type of story always have a messed-up childhood.
It’s the age-old question of nature vs. nurture. Is the way you end up biological, or is there an outside force? For most people, I’m sure both play a very big role in the way someone evolves into the future.
***
At first I had no idea I was actually reincarnated into a brand new life. I was born into a big family with multiple brothers and sisters. Surprisingly, there were also four stepmothers, but for some reason my mother was nowhere to be found. Until the age of ten, I never even saw my father’s face.
This all sounds insane, right? That’s because it is, and I found out very early on why my family was so stupidly big. I’m one of the offspring of the King of this country. The ninth princess was what I was called by everyone. I was also the last-born princess of this insane litter of humans.
With being the ninth princess, my father didn’t take any time out of his day to come check up on me. After the realization that I might never actually meet him, I just forgot about him altogether.
It wasn’t all that bad having a lot of food to eat every day and a very comfortable bed. There were also three maids that took care of all of my needs. My siblings would very rarely interact with me. I tried to at least be friendly with the seventh and eighth princesses, but to no avail. They were too busy even at a young age trying to make their circle of friends and meeting possible engagement partners.
To get a fiancé before even the age of ten was just crazy, I always thought to myself. But, at this time, I had no idea why I thought so strongly about it. All the boys in the family were on high alert, looking out for each other and the possibility of being assassinated.
I’ve heard my father rules this kingdom with an iron fist. He was a vicious tyrant who would willingly allow his children to kill each other for the chance of becoming heir. Only the best possible candidate will survive until the end and achieve the crown prince title.
The only thing I had to look forward to as a girl was being used as a bargaining chip for some country to have closer relations with our kingdom. I couldn’t help but scoff at the utter disrespect towards women and the lack of any true rights to be free. There was no way I wanted that kind of life.
On the bright side, at least I won’t have to worry about being assassinated being a girl. We have no right to ever sit on the throne, so killing one of us is beyond useless and cruel. For some reason I felt this weird sensation that I just gave birth to a flag. At the time I wasn’t very sure what a flag was, but it was something that I innately felt.
My tenth birthday would bring about the flag that I was very much dreading. The day overall felt normal; it was only the maids celebrating my tenth birthday inside of my annex. For the most part, my maids were very nice to me and took great care of my well-being. At least up until this point. Little did I know just how much everything would change after tonight’s events.
As I did every night, I lay there in bed, staring up at the ceiling. I always wondered if I was ever going to be able to go beyond the palace walls. What is the outside world like? My thoughts would run wild with a very vivid imagination from all the books I’ve read from the royal library.
With those kinds of thoughts, I had someone open the door to my room very softly and slowly. I thought nothing of it because of how the maids will occasionally come and check on me. The usual routine was to pretend to be asleep until they left and then continue my daydreaming.
Today was different, though, much different! There were four sets of footsteps approaching my location. The thought that everything is going to be okay kept going on repeat within my mind.
Shriek clang
What was that? It sounded like something metallic. My heart was pounding so hard I wouldn’t be surprised if it exploded out of my chest. I couldn’t help it anymore, opening up my eyes to view my surroundings.
There were multiple people in black clothing, all carrying short swords. I could see the candlelight of the room flashing off the metallic surface of the blades. The only thing I could see was their piercing eyes of insanity coming through the slit on their face.
“Sorry little girl, but you were just born into the wrong family.” With those words, I felt multiple blades impact different parts of my chest and midsection.
The feeling of four sharp objects piercing through your body is a feeling I would rather forget, but they wouldn’t let me. All of the attackers stabbing multiple times while viciously rocking the blade backwards and forwards as it exited the wound.
My body instantly turned hot as I felt the urge to vomit. My lips parted as a cough came surging up through my throat. A fountain of blood came rushing out of my mouth as my body started to feel weaker. As the metallic smell of the blood ran out of my body, I couldn’t help but curse my fate.
What did I do so wrong to deserve this? Why has my father never once come to say hi to me? Where the hell is my mother? Also, how hard is it to actually name your daughter? I’m still only called the ninth princess up till my tenth birthday.
After they made my upper and lower body into a pin cushion along with a bleeding mess, they all exited the room. My hands reached down to my chest, receiving a fully blood-covered hand in response. The more blood I lost, the colder my body would feel.
My bed sheets were now the same crimson as my hair and eyes. Even though I was only ten years old, I was probably going to be a looker when I got older. The maids have told me that my eyes kind of weird them out because if I do show anger, they would tend to turn a brighter shade of red.
I’m sure I won’t last much longer with my current blood loss with no help in sight. That was my last thought before images started cycling through within my mind. As if they were always there, but I was just not ready to receive them.
What I saw was my last life, and I was a man. What? But, I’m currently a girl. You have to be kidding me. Deep down I knew it was true with all these memories that kept flashing before my eyes. That was me; I just know it. I was a pathetic man who never made anything of himself, who lived with his parents into his thirties.
There are no vivid memories of my death, but the last thing I do remember was going to sleep. So probably something to do with my heart or I was killed by some kind of outside force without my knowledge.
That’s right. I remember those three choices upon my death! Some God appeared before me, offering three different paths for reincarnation.
One: Reincarnate as a normal person once again in a middle-class family.
Two: Reborn with a golden spoon, but you will be very weak.
Three: Have the opportunity to grow with amazing power, but it will be a tough life.
The first option sounded boring and something I would never choose over the other two options. On the other hand, just what does it mean by being weak? Like physically, or will my body have some kind of defect that would shorten my life? There were too many what-ifs with the second option.
Being born with a golden spoon would be amazing, but what if you’re like one of those main characters who are fated to die because of an illness? Number three will give you the chance to become an unstoppable force that could bring in a lot of money later on anyway.
The idea of having a tough life made me nervous, just how tough? Some of the stories I’ve read in the past were very heartbreaking to see everything the MC would go through. Out of the three, it gives me the most options for actually changing my fate. Little did I know at the time just how stupidly ridiculous my sob story in my new life would turn out.
At this point it’s quite obvious I choose the third option, but where the hell are my powers? Also, a gender change was something that was never revealed. But I feel more like a girl than a guy because of my last ten years. Just because I remember being male in my past life doesn’t mean I still identify as one.
After the multiple decades of memories from my past life integrated into my very being, I felt everything meld together as if I was whole once again. Besides the fact of becoming much more knowledgeable because of all the books I’ve read in my past and life experience, nothing really changed. That was until something snapped inside of me.
I felt my whole body go extremely cold for a few seconds, then heat enveloped every single inch from head to toe. Every physical defect on my body was instantly healed as my skin went to a much paler white than before. My hair got an even deeper shade of crimson.
My body felt as if I was hit with multiple doses of adrenaline. I shot up out of bed and looked at the mirror on the wall next to my dresser. Bright red, ominous eyes looking straight back at me as if I was corrupted by some kind of evil force.
Everything in the dark room was now as bright as day with my new vision. Taking a look outside, it seemed to still be nighttime, but it was just so illuminated. Just what is happening to me? Also, how in the world did I survive? It has to be what I was promised with the third option.
“Status” It’s worth a try calling out something I’ve only ever thought was real in fiction. But that had no response at all.
“Info”
“Player”
“Host”
No matter what I yelled out, I couldn’t get any kind of status screen appearing in front of my face to help me out in this situation. Maybe I don’t have one at all. It could be more like a cultivation power than something with a system. There is one more option I haven’t tried that I had seen in a manga from my past.
“Soul book” With those words, a bluish, clear screen with white writing appeared in front of my face.
