What’s going on? This overwhelming feeling of loss was completely overflowing within me, and at the same time, I felt such joy. These conflicting emotions were happening at the same time, while I was also feeling guilty about something unknown.
“Goddess Noah, what in the world is going on? Why am I feeling this way? I know you can feel what’s going on inside me and can even read my thoughts. You must know why I’m feeling this way.”
“I’m so sorry, Tia... My emotions are spilling out from being so close. You're feeling my inner turmoil towards you. Can you try calling me mother just once?” The goddess spoke softly, inches away from my ear. Her voice was slightly cracking, as if she were on the verge of tears.
“What do you mean? Are you implying that’s who you are? Why won’t you just tell me who you are to me?” I said it with conviction. What could be her reasoning for wanting to wait five years when she could just tell me right now?
“It’s entirely my fault... My desire to look perfect the first time we meet in person. But I’m not strong enough to actually stop myself from hugging you like this. My feelings just can’t stop bubbling up to the surface. On our first encounter, it took everything I had not to break down. That’s why I kept joking around with you to keep my emotions in check. But this time I completely failed.”
I felt the goddess Noah. Umm, wait... no, mother? Her body began to tremble as I had such thoughts, as if she were either excited or scared at me calling her that. But, can she really be my mother? How would that even make sense? How could a goddess die, and why would she let my father do that?
“Tia… That man isn’t your father. You’ve got no blood ties with anyone in the Voltaire family.” The goddess mentions it under her breath, where I could just barely hear it.
“What? Are you serious? Then why was I in such a shithouse to begin with?” After I said that once again, I was overwhelmed by guilt, but I’m certain this was not my own. “Can you just tell me what’s going on and who is my actual father?
"Alright, Tia, but in return, can you call me mother just once?” The goddess gives a pleading tone.
“Mother, please tell me what in the world happened at my birth.” It felt weird to call her mother, but at the same time, it rolled off my tongue without issue. I felt somewhat liberated about finally meeting my mother in this new life, even though I spent six months with her as a baby. I remember nothing from that time, though.
"Ok, my dear Tia, but to go into that, I must explain to you what happened from the very beginning. It was something that happened more than ten thousand years ago.” My mother was still holding onto me tightly, refusing to let me go.

(Goddess Noah POV)
As far back as I can remember, I’ve always seen red. No matter the situation or what world I was currently in, I would destroy everyone and everything within sight. My body was originally only destruction, and I wasn't capable of any logical thinking.
I can’t remember the life I lived before I became completely unstable, but at some point after my countless rampages, I ascended to godhood. But, at that time, I wasn’t given control of any worlds to look after. I was completely shunned by all the others and was considered an evil god who only moved on instincts.
My title at the time was God of Destruction. Whenever a world needed to be taught a lesson or was too far gone, they would find a way to lead me to that world. That was how they tried to control my actions. So my destruction would only benefit the other gods; I wouldn’t be able to destroy any flourishing worlds.
That was until I met a certain angel who would forever change my life. Her name was Ayliel, and she spent the next countless years trying to disrupt my destructive urges by constantly fighting with me. I guess she thought if she was able to tire me out, it would be possible to get through to me. But our battles turned out to be endless, with multiple worlds meeting terrible fates.
That was only until she finally gave up any hope of reforming me through combat and used her trump card.
“Would you want your daughter to see you this way?” Ayliel says as her hands glow an extremely blinding light as her palm impacts my forehead.
I was completely stopped in my tracks because of what she just said—that I had become completely defenseless. What daughter? My body stiffened as Ayliel’s hand gripped my head, and I started to have images run through my mind.
In those images, I saw a girl who was strikingly similar to me, with snowy white hair and bright scarlet eyes. If I didn’t know any better, I would say this female girl was me. But at the same time, I knew she wasn’t me. Was this really my daughter? Something strange also started to occur within my body. I was finally able to gain a little bit of control over my actions.
After what seemed like an eternity of bliss as I watched this unknown but familiar girl smile and have fun on a daily basis, everything came crashing down. I started seeing multiple futures where she died horribly in every way possible. Someone would kill her, magic would go out of control, one of her trusted allies would stab her in the back, and it would go on and on.
I started to have desperate feelings. Why does she have to die? Something I’ve never felt in my whole life started bubbling up within me. My life had no meaning up to this point, but this girl would be something to live for. Every single day, my attachment to her would become greater as I came to understand what I must do.
She must live; I must find a way to protect her. As I was having such thoughts, I started receiving more alternate futures, but with happier endings. That’s when a specific girl met up with Celestia, whose name I came to learn was my daughter’s. This girl, Rhea, is the key to Celestia’s happiness. They must meet as soon as possible.
With that, I was broken out of the visions and saw a tired Ayliel still standing in front of me with her hand on my forehead. When she noticed I had come to my senses, she released her grip and gave me a warm smile. I couldn’t help but have a strong feeling towards her for showing me this. Giving someone like me a reason to live and look forward to the future.
“It seems to have worked; you shall now be known as Noah. I’ve given you all of my power and shown you what needs to be seen. You’re one of the strongest gods I’ve ever fought, so I had to think of some way to send you down the right path. I’ve also seen what your daughter will become. But her journey will not be an easy one, and she needs you along with other trustworthy allies to push through her future struggles. I wish you luck, Noah.” With that, Ayliel disappeared, as if she were never there in the first place.
I couldn’t help but feel dumbstruck at what just happened. Why would she give up everything for me? Was my daughter really so important for the future? At the very least, I don’t want to let her sacrifice be in vain. It’s time to look to the future and figure out how to set Celestia on the right path. There is still a lot of time to prepare.
My first goal was to find the world my daughter would call home, but I also had no idea where her soul would even come from. It’s forbidden for a god to procreate, so I would have to go against them all if I wanted to have Celestia. At the same time, it would weaken me greatly for a time after birth, where she could be in danger.
After some time, I finally found the world she would be born into and saw just how powerful the humans in that world had become. This was where the birth of the cradle plan started. For someone to transcend into godhood, they have to be extremely strong mentally. I became enlightened after my body absorbed Ayliel’s power and caused my body to ascend. Going from a bloodthirsty vampire to a half demon and angel being called a Nephalem.
My goal was to create powerful beings to hinder the growth and development of the human race before you were eventually born. So I put my new knowledge to good use and created the cradle along with five beasts that will protect you in the future. The most powerful and faithful of the five, a nine-tailed fox, would be your greatest guardian. I knew from my foresight that you really loved foxes.
That’s when I started searching for greedy men or women with huge grudges against humanity. Once I found a mark, I would infuse destruction magic into their body with just enough creation magic to stay in control. When they used the cradle, they would only create monstrosities, but I didn’t care. Their only purpose was to stay in control long enough to cause great damage to the human race.
Fast forward a few more thousand years, and the human race has been completely reset to where its former glory once stood. I also had Hieko, the nine-tailed fox, do stealth missions where she would destroy any research or weapons in the hands of humans. Setting them back hundreds, if not thousands, of years in research.
While I was waiting for any sign of your soul, the other I had imprinted onto my memory, Rhea appeared. I had watched her life, wondering if you would come soon so both of you could meet. But fate was not that kind. Rhea died miserably in her first life. With my new evolution came a new godly title. It gave me great power over life and death.
I had to use it four times on that poor girl’s soul, who would get tormented each time as she would try to survive another life. Knowing that she would save my daughter in the future gave me great pain, as I watched her die with all odds stacked against her every time. The only thing I could do was rewind her time with regression.
Luckily, during her fourth life, I picked up on the soul that would become my daughter. She was currently a he, which was quite the surprise. I watched how his life went until he passed on from that world. It was finally time to bring a daughter into my life. I knew from multiple different futures that her best chance was being tied to the Voltaire household.
Far before this, I had already created an avatar body and got myself employed in the Voltaire household. I had Hieko follow along as we put on a show for the marquis. With Hieko’s powerful illusionary skills, she made it as if I had slept with that garbage human. I reincarnated Celestia’s soul within my avatar, and at the same time, I rewound Rhea’s time to be born on the same day.
With that, everything was set in place for you to hopefully have a great life and eventually rise up to join me in the future. Nine months later, after giving birth, I spent some time loving you before I had another illusion six months later showing my death. Leaving you in that family alone was the hardest thing I have ever done. But I knew it was necessary for the future I wanted for my daughter.
During your reincarnation, I put a massive chunk of my destruction power dormant within you, probably much more than needed. But I was afraid you would die, like in my visions. So I just had to be sure you would survive. I’m also very sorry I couldn’t protect you within the Voltaire household. But you needed this place to activate your destructive magic. Hate is a must for it to truly flourish. It had a failsafe, though; if your life was at risk, it would force your awakening.
‘My body couldn’t help but feel an increasing amount of dread as I completed my story to Celestia. How would she respond to all this? I love her so much, and she’s the miracle that set my life on track. If not for knowing of her existence in the future, I’m not sure of what I would have become.’

(Celestia POV)
The first thing that came to mind after my mother’s story was astonishment. That’s a really long time ago. When she starts talking about thousands of years ago, I can’t even fathom that amount of time. But one thing is for sure: I can tell how much she truly cares.
With those thoughts, I felt my mom’s grip on my body loosen up a bit, as if she just got a sudden burst of relief and her tension was released. Even though I had to suffer for twelve years in that household, she suffered quite a bit as well to bring me to this current point. I can’t feel anything but gratitude towards her.
“Thank you… Tia… You have no idea what that means to me. If you actually despised me in any way, I would have never been able to recover.” My mother replied as I felt her power to restrain my body greatly weaken.
With a burst of speed, I quickly turn and get a glimpse of what my mother’s true form looks like. I now understand where I got my looks because she was a knockout beauty. Why was she so afraid to show me her appearance? We do look very similar, the only difference being that she had some red streaks in her hair. Of course, she also had two angel-like wings around her shoulder blades, with two demon wings protruding out of her lower back.
As I look at her, I don’t understand why she was so afraid to show herself to me. My mother was completely perfect in my eyes. With that, I lunged at her as I saw her eyes widen. My arms wrapped around her as I had my very first true hug with my mother. Once again, I felt overwhelming emotions wash over my body as we embraced each other with some tears. It was one of the most comfortable feelings I’ve ever had, besides being with Rhea.
“Mom, why were you afraid to show me your appearance?” I was intrigued to hear her answer.
“Well… I was just really nervous to actually face you and was trying to put it off. Also, I’m not at my best and still need to recover from your birth. I’ve been keeping a very close eye on you over these years. Giving you a huge majority of my destruction and creation magic really took quite a toll on my body.” She lamented.
“Hmm, do you regret doing it?” I wondered.
“I would never have such thoughts! I just wanted our first meeting to be perfect. I’ve been stressing over this encounter for thousands of years. I'm always in constant turmoil in my mind about whether what I’m doing is the correct path. Your survival has always been the most important factor.”
My mother and I stayed together for what felt like an eternity. Just feeling her warmth and all her emotions that were bursting out was very comforting. I had a mother who would literally destroy worlds for me. I was reminded of a quote I once read in my past life.
‘A hero would sacrifice you to save the world, but a villain would sacrifice the world to save you.’ My mother definitely falls into the latter category. How many times has she unleashed threats on humanity just to weaken them for my arrival? If that isn’t love, what is? While it’s not the healthiest type, it’s still greatly appreciated to know just how strongly she cares.
"Now, after all this, I remembered you saying something about five years; why do I have to wait that long to see you again?” I asked quizzically.
“It’s to once again restore my power to full. You could say I will go into a dormant state for the next five years. Now that I know you will be relatively safe for the time being, I can rest easy. But if you were ever to face a threat you're unable to overcome, I will shatter the barrier between the upper and lower worlds to come save you.” She said it with so much vigor.
“Well, that’s very reassuring.” My mother once again showed her cool side, but I know she would probably actually do it.
"Anyway, Tia, I would love to stay like this for much longer, but we don’t have all the time in the world just yet. In the future, I hope you don’t get annoyed at how much I’m going to spoil you. Thousands of years of pent-up emotions for the day I would finally meet my daughter.”
I look up and make eye contact with my mom, who has a warm smile across her face. This new life is really shaping out to be something else. Finding a mother I thought I had lost, meeting a girl of my dreams, and having powers that could rival gods. To top it all off, I have a whole world of humans who probably want me dead.
“Sounds good to me, mom, but Rhea might get a bit jealous.” We both laugh together as we enjoy each other's company.
