Broken CC Dining Chairs & Stools
🕑 Added 2021-04-13 12:31:25 +0000 UTCYou may or may not be aware that the last patch broke the routing of your sims to be able to uses stools or dining chairs when they are snapped to a surface like a table or island. I've been in contact with EA as the changes that were made in the last patch didnt seem to make any logical sense. So I wanted to double check that the changes made where intentional. I have been informed that the changes made to these items in the last patch were NOT intentional, therefore I have decided not to update my cc as there should be a future patch that reverts the chairs and stools back to their previous state.
If you can't live without your cc dining chairs and stools there is a batch fix available from Sims 4 Studio (I have an old video that shows how to use the Sims 4 Studio batch fix feature here).
NOTE: If you batch fix your items, they will disappear from any build you currently have that uses those items. This is because the batch fix changes the number that the game uses to identify objects. So it will treat it like a brand new object. This is one of the reasons why I will not be officially updating mine as it would cause these items to disappear from older builds. I know from previous experience, the fewer versions of my cc I release the better, as it only creates more confusion.
If and when I hear anymore information about when this issue will be rectified by EA, I will let you all know

Has there been an update to this chair/barstool issue, Harrie? Was away from Sims for the last couple months-- literally stepped away right when this issue happened, and now that I am back, I can't seem to find a straight answer if they've been fixed yet... Currently updating all my MODS and hundreds of hair CC to include the new shades, so I haven't opened my game just yet-- but I'd love to know if I need to add 'hunt down & update all of my cc chairs/barstools' to my todo list before I can finally play my darn game!

My mirrors are broken in my game when I look at it bits of the wall have disappeared where doors or windows are placed dose anyone know about this glitch?

Really appreciate the update...I can wait but I definitely miss them! Thankfully you have a chair in base game now that we can use until then!!!

I took all of my cc chairs out after the update. I actually don't mind revisiting all of my old builds once the new patch corrects things--now that I have more of your and Felixandre's beautiful cc.

The batch fix is not intended to stop chairs disappearing. Infact running the match fix will make all of your chair disappear. The only thing that broke with chairs is that sims could not route correctly to sit in them when snapped to a surface, not that they were disappearing. You'll need to place all of your chairs again after running the batch fix, but then your sims will actually be able to use the chairs

Well that's good to know it wasn't intentional, but I've ran the batch fix three times and the chairs still disappear. I've simply just replaced the chairs with the ones from the 21st anniversary or just the in game chairs. I'm not holding breathe that it will be fixed anytime soon.

Once, I completely missed the broken window update and spent months SO sad I couldn’t use the bafroom windows LOL so now I am so on top of updates. You are amazing Harrie! Soooo much talent!!!
