The Brownstone Collection - Part One

This set comprises of 21 items for the kitchen of your gorgeous New York Brownstone. The main focus of this month was to create a kitchen with clean minimal lines, and to take a few risks along the way. I knew that to achieve this sleek look, built in appliances were a must. There is a built in fridge that looks just like the tall wall cabinet, dishwasher, stove, oven & hob. Creating built in appliances comes with its owns set of challenges as appliances use a different shader in the game to counters, so they will never fully match, no matter what I do. Unfortunatley I can't apply the counter shader to appliances as it can't be used for an item with moving parts :( So I've used all the same texture and colours on the appliances, but also a series of metals, if the mismatch makes your eyes twitch.
NOTE: The stove, oven & hob slot into counters unlike the in game stoves. However you'll need to make sure you have auto counters off when placing, otherwise they are invisible. If you do use autocabinets, you only need to turn off to place them, they will stick around once auto counters are turned back on. But on a personal note...please never use auto counters, especially not with my kitchens that I've designed end pieces for π
The bespoke shaped 3 piece kitchen island has been designed to fit either to be a prep space, fit in the new seamless sink or countertop hob into the middle section. It is not designed to slot in any of the other appliances and your regular appliances will poke out of the bottom.
There are tons of swatches in the counters and as a result I actually had to divide into 2 seperate counters. There are wood, paint and plaster options for the counter fronts and a choice of white marble, black marble, terrazzo and also matching plaster for the plaster front counters.
π‘TIP: If your screen is a low resolution & the couter pieces run off the side of your screen, you'll want to try playing around with the filters to move the counters further to the r/h side of the catalogue ie. filtering by colour or pack.

I'm pretty sure that this was an unitentional chnage on EAs behalf, so I'm awaiting their confirmation on whether or not they will be fixed with a future patch. So I'm holding off updating chairs as it would make all of the old versions disappear from everyones game and the fewer versions of my cc in circulation, the better

Hey Harrie - not sure if you're aware but the new patch that came with the bunkbeds seem to have broken CC dining chairs. I'm using the dining chairs from Jardane and my Sims are not able to sit on them. Will you supplying us with a fix on this? Thanks in advance and I adore your creations!

not heard any reports of this. its most likely an in game routing issue with your counters. double check there isnt anything hanging from the ceiling that is blocking your sims route

No problem! There are lots of little hidden parts of objects that I didnβt know existed until I started making cc. A more simple counter design & I would load the same deeper mesh in as itβs also half the work π

There are actually 5 meshes for against a wall and 5 meshes for counters set away from the wall. Peacemakers staying the same in the corner isnt a trick, its just the same mesh loaded in for both positions. Its possible for counters with a simple design where you don't notice the extra part of the mesh being hidden within the wall, but not possible with the more complex counter top design I have used. If I loaded the deeper mesh in for both the back countertop lip would be cut off and hidden inside the wall instead of being in front of the wall where its expected to be.

Absolutely gorgeous work! I really love the full set, thank you! But it also made me ponder about something ... my hubby started to use this lovely set and noticed he can't place a corner piece against wall from one side but not from another. Corner piece is "shrinking" and you can't place next straight piece properly against it. Like that: https://imgur.com/GqznNOh I know, it's basically vanilla behaviour and I told him that. He demonstrated me Peacemakers set what had perfect corner without shrinking. So now I'm wondering, is it possible to implement it here too to make it even more versatile? Yes, I dare to ask another feature for already amazing set :) But even if not, I still appreciate all your great creations.

I love the look of everything.. I seem to be having a problem downloading your collection. I don't know what I am doing wrong. I have tried downloading with merged and unmerged and it doesn't seem to be making a difference.
