Overpowered Wizard B4 Ch16: Angry Teenage Years
🕑 Added 2025-07-11 13:54:48 +0000 UTCZarian rubbed his hands together as he checked on his achievements. There weren’t that many, but he was more excited about the potential quality of those achievements. If they were as big as he was hoping, then things were going to get even more nuts.
<Achievement rewarded! Master Versus Champion!>
<Achievement rewarded! Baby No Smite!>
<Achievement rewarded! Over Ten Percent Darkness!>
<Achievement rewarded! Darkness Reigns, Divinity Falls!>
<Achievement rewarded! First Godling Devouring!>
<Achievement rewarded! Master Defeats Champion!>
Without even getting into the descriptions, the names alone sounded impressive. Would he finally get some trait combiners and skill combiners? Did he even need those anymore with how Para could consume, alter, and apply changes to his own profile.
In fact, if the two of them were that self-sufficient, then the best thing would be pure raw stats or new abilities. Zarian wasn’t sure what he preferred just yet, but he would definitely take pure raw stats to ensure he could fight the next massively powerful foe that would be out to get him.
He opened all of his achievements.
<Achievements opened!>
<Master Versus Champion (Mythical): It wasn’t long ago when you had to survive facing a Champion Regressor named Justin. That was considered incredible at the time. But here we are where you’re challenging a whole Champion – who hasn’t regressed – and you’re still in the middle of the Master Ranks! Are you crazy? Do you need to get your head checked? Wait, what are we saying? Of course you’re crazy! +100 Willpower, +100 Strength, +100 Agility, +100 Wonder, +100 Mysticism.>
“Ah, another spread,” Zarian said.
“Um, milord, are you sure you wish for me to see this?” asked Racella.
Para waved her off. “If you betray us, then you’ll become a part of us. It’s not something we’re too worried about.”
Racella nodded.
<Baby No Smite (Unknown): You’re really not supposed to be getting these yet. Seriously, you’re jumping leagues ahead of most Master Rankers now. But you stopped a charge up smite from a Champion godling of Purgehunt … a Good God who is all about purging. And all that happened was one out of six hands was lost … temporarily. That’s … well … impressive. And scary. +1500 Wonder!>
A shockwave of aura thrust out of Zarian. The tables and chairs, which were all mythical, were knocked away. Platters of food flew through the air. Para collapsed onto hands and knees on the floor briefly. Even though she scaled the most off of Willpower, that much Wonder in one go was a shock for her.
It had Zarian on the floor, flat on his back, until Racella scooped him up. Again, she reminded him of a taller and more full-figured version of her older sister, and Zarian’s increase in supernatural power, aura power, and faith gave him quite the ride. It took him a while to recover, blinking the daze out of his mind.
“I wish I can tell you what the quality is, but it’ll get blanked out by the System when I try,” Racella explained, helping Zarian back to his feet.
The wizard looked over at his daughter, who seemed to exude a shinier crimson color. Her green irradiated eyes glowed even brighter. Wonder gave greater power, and all of that power was leaking out of both of them.
“That … was a trip,” Zarian said.
“Again,” Para replied.
Zarian braced himself as he checked the next.
<Over Ten Percent Darkness (Unknown): Nobody was sure what would happen if you went over ten percent. But the universe still stands and you’re still in control. Thank goodness! +1500 Willpower!>
Zarian immediately unlocked some of his darkness and wrapped it around Para as the Parasite Phantom screamed. Even with Five Percent Darkness, Zarian struggled to contain the explosion of power blasting out of Para.
Heavy reverberations shook the entire restaurant and spread through the village. The Hashmalites were shouting and crying in terror. Children ran to their nearest family members or caretakers. The warriors ran quickly toward the source, and by that point, Zarian knew it was time to jet out of there.
While keeping Para contained, he cast Void Paradise on himself and Racella. He took them all away from the village and landed on a forest-based throne. Right in the middle of the continental size seat.
“Be careful, Racella!” Zarian shouted.
Thankfully, more Willpower for the wizard made him more in control of himself. But the same couldn’t be said for Para, with how she scaled doubly off of Willpower and had a massively powerful body.
Racella formed a protective blue orb around herself and floated miles away. Then Zarian released the Five Percent Darkness Sphere from around Para. There was a sneaking suspicion that Para could’ve ripped her way out of it.
From the way she stood there menacingly, Zarian was a little concerned about how much stronger she was getting, if it meant she would become more wild. There was still seventy percent of her true berserk power locked away, after all. He could feel all fourteen master locks rattling, straining, being put to the test inside of Para’s body.
“Dad,” Para called.
“Yeah, kiddo?”
“I want … more power.”
“Only if you’re a good girl.”
She smiled at him. “I will be. I promise. But that was … exhilarating. Onto the next?”
Somewhere inside of Zarian, he was shedding a few tears. They were growing so fast, so quickly, and he knew where this course was taking them. But there was no stopping the crazy train now. They might as well ride it to the end.
“Let’s bang the rest out and suffer the consequences,” Zarian said.
“Yes! Let’s do it! Let’s grow faster! Harder! Let’s go!” Para laughed madly. She truly was his daughter.
With a nod, Zarian looked back and waved Racella away. The Dawn Veil Oracle flew back many miles.
<Darkness Reigns, Divinity Falls (Unknown): If you were traditionally evil, watching you would be depressing. It’s like seeing the fall of all that is good and sacred in the world while you grow and grow. Thankfully, you’re free evil, so maybe, just maybe, in the end, things will be alright. +1500 Wonder!>
<First Godling Devouring (Unknown): Baby gods are supposed to be somewhat immortal unless you have an immortal-killing power or weapon. Be that you are that weapon of anti-immortality, it makes it easier to dine on the gods, especially the baby ones. They’re still a little softer compared to their parents. +1500 Willpower!>
<Master Defeats Champion (Unknown): It’s not often when you see a Master face a Champion. But it’s truly something different when a Master can defeat a Champion despite the large difference in levels, stats, and rank. +1500 Free Points.>
Immediately, Zarian threw all of his Free Points into Mysticism. He was going to need it as he burst with a more potent aura from the increase in Wonder. He clamped down on that thanks to his growth in Willpower, but Para wasn’t so willing to contain herself.
Her power shot up drastically from the increase in Willpower, Wonder, and Mysticism. For miles in every direction, phantom magic clawed and tore apart the forest throne. Then Para’s scream turned into a nuclear beam that sliced through the skies before she turned her destructive might down on the throne.
She obliterated the entire continental structure. Countless forest trees and the creatures that lived in them were immolated in a bright nuclear flash.
Zarian shunted the notifications away as billions of weak creatures perished. The entire continental throne scattered away and collapsed from Para’s raw might. During that moment, Zarian saw an opportunity to push Para a little further before reining her back.
“Unlock Forty Percent Berserk,” Zarian said.
Para snapped her maddened gaze toward him. “Dad! I think I can beat you. I think I’m the strongest and greatest. Maybe you should be the skill and I be the one who is fully realized. Maybe I’m ultra!”
“Oh, yeah?” Zarian cocked his head to the side with a smile as he floated in the air across from her. “Maybe you can show me later. Let me fix up some things and work on the spells first, huh?”
Para huffed and puffed with rage and madness. It was taking all of her concentration not to attack him.
She folded all four of her arms, wrapped her tail around her waist, and floated in the lotus pose. Closing her eyes, she focused on her breathing and containing her berserk nature.
“I’m losing myself. The rage. The power. It’s almost too much. For a moment there … I really wanted to beat you and eat you. Maybe I could. Maybe that’s my destiny.” Para huffed. “Or maybe I’m deluding myself. Or you’re letting me be deluded.”
“It is a little amusing, to be honest. Scary, too. But, hey, that’s part of the deal,” Zarian said.
Para shook her head. “You’re playing a dangerous game … Zarian Sainte-Darkrun.”
Hearing his entire name like that had him laughing. He didn’t even bother to respond. This was the type of life he was meant for, and there was nothing else to it.
No guts, no glory.
But Zarian had to admit their time was short. He could feel it. All of that explosive power display would attract attention fast.
“I think I can power through this next part, can’t I?” Zarian asked.
He checked his growth in alignment.
<Your freedom alignment (Free Evil +16) grew: +21!>
Oh, yeah, he could do a lot with that.
Zarian checked his new traits.
<Greater Dark Affinity (Epic): Darkness. Dark Magic. Powers used by dark and wicked things. Your talent for it is nearly beyond reproach. When in use, you gain +50% to Willpower, Wonder, and Mysticism.>
<Storyteller Predator (Mythical): Peel back the stories of all that you hunt regardless if they’re alive or not. Know their secrets, fears, hopes, loves, stats, and more. Then use that knowledge to your advantage while gaining +100% to Willpower.>
Those were some fancy descriptions, but he was really paying more attention to the hard buffs. He was going to squeeze more out of that juice for sure. Now onto the new skill advancements.
<Force of Sorcery +3 (Level 77): Change aura into a tangible and accurate force that pairs magical knowledge directly with reality. Works very well with abilities for aura and sorcery. Scales with Mysticism. Advancements: +1 enables triple scaling with Mysticism. +2 enables scaling with Willpower and Wonder. +3 doubles the scaling for Willpower and Wonder.>
<Bombastic Grand Magus Hat (Level 1): Increases your prowess with aura abilities, mental capabilities, wizardry, and sorcery when worn. The increase becomes more drastic when you act with bombastic magic. Scales triply with Wonder.>
<Spell Tower Body +1 (Level 24): Your grimoires and spells can live inside of you while at full power. They can be prepared, suspended from time, and have their cooldowns reduced significantly. Your Strength and Agility rises sharply with every spell you store. But the aura cost grows more extreme as well. Scales doubly with Willpower, Wonder, and Mysticism. +1 allows you to double cast instantly inside of your body for greater costs.>
Zarian summoned the bombastic hat, and it landed on his head as a wide, floppy, and absolutely gaudy thing. It glowed with intense green, blue, and white colors, with a brim that was far wider than a sombrero.
“Oh, I’m going to be even more obnoxious with this.” He laughed.
Para growled in his direction.
“Yeah, yeah, you’re going through your angry teenage years. It’s normal that you want to hate me. I’m not sure about the cannibalizing your own dad part, but I’m not really hip with the teenagers these days.”
Para growled some more.
Zarian shook his head, and his big bombastic sombrero flowed and flopped with the motion.
Other than the bombastic hat, he liked the additional scaling in Force of Sorcery +3 and the ability to double cast instantly with Spell Tower Body +1 was so stupidly strong he felt like he was cheating more and more.
His stats were unfair.
Willpower: 6767 Base (65,978 Buffed)
Strength: 974 Base (2,922 Buffed)
Agility: 2100 Base (5,250 Buffed)
Wonder: 5938 Base (43,050 Buffed)
Mysticism: 5154 (78,599 Buffed)
Free Points: 0
Base Stats: 20,933
Buffed Stats: 195,799
Zarian turned and located Racella. Without having to ask, she opened up to him, granting his Storyteller Predator access to her knowledge. He shared with her his new stats, and her shocked reaction and knowledge told him plenty.
He was far, far, far beyond Master Rankers usually at their peak. He was far beyond the usual Champion Ranker.
“Now, last but not least.”
<Dark Emperor Madness Smite Beam (Level 1): Concentrate your dark and madness inducing powers with a hint of your own divinity. Then shoot it as a beam that can either annihilate or drive a target utterly mad, breaking them. Scales triply with Mysticism.>
“Oh, that’s just wicked. Too bad I don’t have much room inside my alpha skills.”
With a shrug, Zarian finally turned his focus to the next fun part. Combining spells manually. With all of his new growth and acquisition of an even bigger and fancier wizard hat, he was finding the ordeal relaxing.
He even had all of his grimoires out. Black floated ominously while its soul chains rattled, its pages spread to him. Gator snapped its teeth at scrambling Morphs. And Void orbited around and around.
“Dad, do you need me?” Para asked.
Zarian waved her off. “Go ahead and blow off some steam. Just make sure to spare someone suitable for sacrificing to my wife, eh?”
“Whatever.” Para blasted out of there immediately and went straight for the poor creature who drew her attention.
With her gone, Racella floated down and kept the Dark Emperor company. She had to close her eyes, though, as Zarian rewrote sections of his grimoires with a flurry of runes, diagrams, and wicked tales that would drive most mad.
