Upgrade to Unreal Engine 5 - Yes or No
🕑 Added 2023-12-06 21:35:57 +0000 UTCHeya everyone! Before CBT 2 was launched we talked about the possibility of upgrading the game to Unreal Engine 5 when the engine is stable enough. Today we finished laying the foundation for the upgrading in closed beta update 0.8.0.
But before we start, we would like to hold a public poll to make sure you are okay with this. Considering that this will be an irreversible choice impacting every player in the community, I'd like to ensure that we have an adequate sample size before the ship is sailed.
- PROS:
Upgrading to Unreal Engine 5 means better graphics overall. Real-time accurate shadow generation, ray-tracing and groom based hair simulation (the tech used on Elizabeth's hair) will take up less resources. Lumen (impacts coloring, shadow and reflection), particle system (impacts the body fluids VFX), alpha layering (impacts translucent materials such as the stockings and hair) improvements will enhance the game visually.
- CONS:
Any graphic card that does not support SM5 (Lower than Nvidia Geforce GTX-1070) will NO LONGER BE ABLE TO RUN THE GAME after the upgrading. Addressing optimization and compatibility issues may take a couple of weeks to a month.

I mean sure go ahead and switch AGAIN. After all the constant switching to the newest engine worked so well for Duke Nukem, right. JUST FINISH IT ALREADY. If you switch engines again you will lose my financial support and i doubt i am alone.

Please do, as long as you keep low graphic options people shouldn't mind too much, and RT can be disabled, gotta say it would look great on this game at 4K
