If I had to guess, she’s afraid to admit her own faults and insecurities. And for whatever reason, she sees her openly loving him as a fault. She did something similar in the sfw comics Acker gave us with her and Yoshino. She seems to see showing love and affection as a fault or a weakness. Just my guess…

As much as I love and adore Teka, I can’t necessarily blame Enji for not wanting anything to do with her. She’s a terrible mother and losing Yoshi was no excuse for being a neglectful parent.
