Having to Scout move 2k worth of models is what made me stop playing pure Kroot, deployment and pregame actions together always takes like 30 minutes even if I'm being sloppy and rushing with it, and if I'm going first that's just doubled up on the time my opponent is waiting for me to finish moving at *least* 80 models.

Its true that talking about stupid stuff is like 50% of the fun when playing with friends but also adds 50% to the length

Might have to do with the amount of rules and frequent changes of them. I get the impression 40k is intended to be played at least twice a week + studying rules interactions for another few hours.
