They're certainly not the strongest traits unfortunately... If I was playing blood ravens I'd just focus on taking generic strong marine units and not worry about the traits too much (though obvs include a librarian or two). For more competitive stuff I'd just declare them as being from a successor chapter with x/y traits if you wanted to try out other things.

I've been running Blood Ravens (Stalwart and Knowledge is power - as locked in by the White dwarf article) since may 2019 when I started 40k. I like their background and their role as relic thieves. I like their focus on psychers, but they are pretty bad compared to the top tier picks. Do you think there is a way to build a somewhat good competitive list with these traits or do you think I should just give up on them and begin another chapter for cometivite ?

Ah I see, so that's an easy one with iron hands I think - take inheritors is the option I'm going to be compelled to choose and I'll need to buy myself some intercessors like that tournament chap and ditch the tac marines. Thanks for your help as always!
Auspex Tactics
Yeah, if you pick successor traits (other than inheritors) you lose their main trait (the 6+++, 5+ overwatch and vehicle degrading bonus) but keep their super-doctrine (RR1s for heavies and move-and-shoot heavies for no penalty)

Great video...I feel like I'm finding this all really complicated to get my head around! As an example, with an iron hands successor chapter I understand I loose out on war gear and characters but as to traits what do I lose? Any of the traits like 5 up overwatch and that kind of stuff? Would love to know more.about the forge world characters. Thank you!
