Here is a big part of the update — as predicted, I didn't have time to code everything I've written, but I left it in a good spot. I'll code the rest in January!
Four essential things to know before playing it:
To see the new update, you need to go to the garden to visit Vallen. I didn't code the other path, which is much smaller. So, you need to choose that Vallen invited you and, when it's time, to go. Otherwise, the demo stops at the same place.
When you're with Vallen, your Romanus will automatically have enough clues to be on the 'real' Vallen path — due to time constraints, I had to choose between the two paths, so I chose the one I find more interesting.
For those interested, yes, Rafael's meeting is part of the update (of course ♡).
Please do not use an old save! It's missing important variables, and it'll give you false errors, even game-breaking ones. I know it's a pain to replay every time, but this is how ChoiceScript functions. 😭

I completely understand if you prefer to wait for January to play the update. I wanted to put something out before Christmas, but the last week has been tough for me to find time to work. I hope you're not terribly disappointed. ♡
As always, If you see paragraphs stuck together, really long pages, repeated sentences, or characters not acting as they should — or referencing something that never happened/ forgetting events that have happened, please report them! I tested everything, and while I know there are no game-breaking bugs, minor errors can still slip through the net.
A story for the Golden Tier will be posted on the 26th, and close to the New Year, I'll also make a special post for everyone. Other than that, after January 7th, when all my family has gone home, I'll dive right back into coding and finishing the Chapter!
I really do hope you enjoy it. The game is picking up steam, and I'm so, so excited for the following scenes to come and the unraveling of old mysteries. I'll stop rambling now. Have a wonderful time, everyone.🌹

Absolutely amazing update. I loved everything about it from some of the changes between talking with your mother to the meeting with Vallen. I had been waiting with excitement for it since reading book one and it did not disappoint. I only wish it could have been longer and look forward to eventually having her in my party. Lovely work. You continue to amaze me with your ability to write such witty dialog and compelling characters.

Here are the bugs/misspellings that I ran into over my run. I had bolded the parts I thought were wrong but it didn't stick. "Mater[/i}," you say more calmly, grip softening. You want to pull her into a hug. "What is it?" "He is, Captain," Joan confirms. Her gauntlet has been cleaned of your blood, but it closes in a familiar fist. "He's the one Lord Aurelius' met right before the pirates attacked. I dragged her out of his office myself.” Alessa turns her chin, and approval shines in her eyes. Mist takes in your answer with a solemn nod. "Go one," he tells Lance. It brings with it the faint smell of wet grass and the smallest trickle of a spring. “Gratias tibi ago, Filius[ misericordiae.” I thank you, son of mercy. Vallen finally looks over her shoulder. Her mouth is open in a silent 'O', but her eyes are as sharp as yours. A beat. And she breaks into a fit of giggles. "You finally noticed! I thought you'd never do."

Theres so much to say about this update that i love so much ! Your ability to set a scene, plus all of those wild tone shifts while talking to Vallen had me on the edge of my seat. I dont celebrate Christmas very much so this was a nice surprise to sit down and read for awhile. Happy holidays! (Also gotta mention that i freaking loved Alessa's note and the message she left for Hadrian at the end. Shes so silly lol)

A fantastic Christmas present. I can already see the difference in the prologue too! So much more latin in the final scene. A few of the added lines have italics where they shouldn't or extra periods but the lines themselves are very cool touches! I'm all for more latin from Romanus
