Lingering Glance

"You'll be a priest forever," you translate, the words rushed from your lips on their own accord.
"'Thou art a priest forever'," Lance corrects. "If you want to stay true to the scriptures."
Hadrian looks down at his clasped hands. "Let's hope that's not true," he says in a low murmur.

Disregarding the angst for a minute, but Lance and MC being Latin linguists besties, we love to see it βοΈ

The Lance Latin reveal was the favorite part of my lore heavy Romanus playthrough. Especially since she's played as smart but oblivious. She hears Latin from him and debates about the translation instead of realizing he knows it, poor Alessa lol.

I'm glad we get to see more Latin usage in Book 2. I'm betting our Romanus is something like the Ultimus Romanorum.

He really did slip up at the end of book one π if lance could have, he would have slapped his own forehead at the time

mwahahahha I did pick that option to say to Lance something along the lines of "you have not bullshitted me about the Latin, and I want you to know that I know and I'll be checking on you" π€

Yes! Thank you for official confirmation that Lance knows a ton of Latin. I never believed his deflection in book 1 and now I'm super excited for my Lore heavy Romanus to have some loooong conversations with our blue haired friend.

Can someone explain this to me? I'm a little confused. Especially by the Latin and Hadrian's remark.... I think I'm missing something... So is Hadrian questioning his faith? And those who stay true to the scriptures are forever priests or whatever? Edit: I think I understand now. I think yes Hadrian is questioning his faith and beliefs to a degree. I think he's thinking of in the future what things that may put his faith and beliefs to the test. I mean his faith has grounded him, he's a mercenary. He's killed people. If you romanced him, and your life was put into jeopardy, he would more than likely do anything to get you back and safe. Even as a friend. Still I'm missing something....
