Chapter 13: Mimesis Training (1)
🕑 Added 2025-04-19 13:42:52 +0000 UTC“We didn’t treat you well before, we’re really sorry.” As the captain of the first team, Yu Tianheng consciously apologized to Lu Buliang on behalf of all his teammates. “If you want any compensation, we will try our best to satisfy you.”
Lu Buliang shook his head. “These things are over. We are a team now, so there is no need for compensation. I am very happy to practice, fight and grow together with you in the future.”
The gap between Yu Tianheng and the other seven and Lu Buliang gradually disappeared as everyone introduced themselves, and Dugu Yan no longer showed her dissatisfaction with Lu Buliang. After all, Ye Lingling didn’t say anything, and if she continued to make trouble unreasonably, she would seem to be meddling in other people’s business.
Everyone was eating and drinking and talking freely, except Ye Lingling, who kept her head down and said nothing.
Dugu Yan saw it all. Although Ye Lingling was usually taciturn, she could always feel her loneliness and desolation.
But this time it was different.
Dugu Yan knew that it was because of Lu Buliang’s joining that Ye Lingling felt more uneasy and conflicted. If there was a control-type soul master in the team who was better than himself, Dugu Yan would definitely feel this kind of conflict and uneasiness.
Instead of occupying the position all the time, it is better to give it to teammates who are more useful than yourself and be willing to become a substitute.
This should be what Ye Lingling is thinking at the moment.
Dugu Yan understood such emotions, but she did not try to comfort Ye Lingling because in her opinion, although Ye Lingling appeared weak on the surface, her mental quality was very strong.
Every time the team was in danger, she was the silent one who promptly gave everyone treatment and encouragement. How could a person who knew how to encourage others be so vulnerable psychologically?
Therefore, Dugu Yan knew that Ye Lingling would figure it out and make the right decision on her own, so there was no need to worry too much.
Amid the bustle, a very pleasant voice suddenly rang out, “Well, I have something to say.”
The hollow sound gives people an unreal feeling.
The person who spoke was Ye Lingling.
“Lingling, what’s wrong?” Yufeng asked.
Ye Lingling glanced at her companions, lowered her head, and then made up her mind and said, “We were able to get full marks in Teacher Shi’s practical class this morning. We didn’t have to be punished, all thanks to Lu Buliang’s efforts. I watched carefully when everyone was fighting, and with Lu Buliang’s assistance, everyone seems to have become stronger than before.”
Everyone stared at Ye Lingling quietly. The room became eerily quiet, with only the beautiful voice echoing, “I think that Lü Buliang’s auxiliary ability can improve the team’s combat effectiveness. In future team battles, he will undoubtedly play a better role than me. In order to improve the team’s winning rate, I think Lü Buliang should be part of the main force, and I can be a substitute. If I don’t have to play, I can also be an external aid to treat everyone’s injuries.”
Before Ye Lingling could finish her words, a clear and gentle voice sounded, “The Nine-Hearted Begonia Spirit and the Shadow Spirit both have their own unique features in terms of auxiliary abilities. My assistance this morning allowed Yu Tianheng and the others to injure Teacher Shi Gao. It’s not that I’m better than you as an auxiliary. It’s just that I just happened to be useful.”
The attention of Yu Tianheng and the other seven people fell on Lu Buliang, as it was he who made the sound.
Lü Buliang looked at Ye Lingling and said, “What if the actual combat content this morning was not to injure Teacher Shi Gao, but to last a stick of incense in his hands? At this time, your Nine-Hearted Begonia Martial Spirit can continuously heal teammates and improve the team’s endurance. With your assistance, Yu Tianheng and the others will definitely be able to hold on until the incense stick is burned out. You can also let the team get full marks.”
“Now you know, as auxiliary spirit masters, we are both equally good. My shadow spirit can improve team combat capabilities, while your Nine-Hearted Begonia spirit can improve the vitality of the team. We can send different players to fight against different opponents, thus forming team coordination with different combat effects. This is the most interesting part of team combat.”
“Yes, what Lü Buliang said is right.” Oslo immediately said, “Lingling, stop worrying about who is better and who should be the main player or the substitute. You and Lü Buliang are both very important to the team, and you are both equally outstanding. It’s just that you are used in different ways.”
“I...” Ye Lingling hesitated to speak. Influenced by her family since childhood, she was not talkative and had a withdrawn personality. It was no exaggeration to say that what she had just said to her friends was more than what she had said in the past seven days.
After listening to Lu Buliang’s story, Ye Lingling felt relieved and no longer doubted her ability. She looked at Lu Buliang and thought about what she wanted to say. After thinking for a long time, she just said softly, “Thank you.”
“You’re welcome. I’m glad you figured it out.” After answering, Lu Buliang felt relieved. He didn’t want to make others depressed because of his joining.
After taking a sip of his drink, Lu Buliang continued, “Also, you should open your horizons. Who says a team can’t have two auxiliary players as the main force?”
Yu Tianheng replied, “Assistance-type spirit masters are very important to the team, but they do not have combat capabilities and need the protection of their teammates. One more assistance-type spirit master in a team battle means one less combat power and one more worry. Therefore, if conditions permit, the fewer assistance-type spirit masters a team has, the better.”
“That’s the normal situation, but some teams will send two auxiliary spirit masters at the same time.” Lu Buliang said. “Otherwise, there would be no distinction between food spirit masters and other auxiliary spirit masters in the spirit master world.”
Dugu Yan looked at Lu Buliang, “That’s easy for you to say. Food-type soul masters are very rare auxiliary-type soul masters. Besides, it’s not that easy to find a food-type soul master with outstanding talent.”
Lü Buliang also looked back at Dugu Yan, “It is indeed difficult to find an excellent food-type spirit master. But don’t forget that I am also a very rare auxiliary spirit master. The shadow martial spirit can make the entire team enter the shadow state. Even a pure auxiliary spirit master can easily avoid the enemy’s attack during the shadow state. There is no need for protection at all.”
“Yes.” Shi Mo clapped his hands and said in surprise, “In the practical class this morning, Lü Buliang can assist us and control the enemy. He also has the trick of position swapping. With him around, we don’t have to be distracted to protect Lingling. Moreover, Lingling can also heal us. With the shadow state plus the treatment of Nine-Hearted Begonia, we can fight without any worries!”
“But.” Dugu Yan frowned, “If two support players, Lü Buliang and Lingling, play at the same time, who should we replace? A regular team match can only have seven players.”
Everyone fell into deep thought.
After a moment, Lü Buliang looked at Dugu Yan and said with a smile, “Yanzi, of course I’m going to replace you. I’m both a support and a controller, so what use do I have for you?”
Hearing this, Dugu Yan stood up angrily, staring at him, “Lü Buliang, do we know each other well? You are not allowed to call me Yanzi. You said so much, are you targeting me intentionally? I am the control department of the team. If you replace me, who will command the battle?”
Lu Buliang replied, “Me. Wasn’t it me who gave you the orders during the actual combat this morning? And my shadow control is more accurate and stronger than your poison control. At least it won’t hurt your teammates by mistake.”
“Oh? Really?” Dugu Yan’s somewhat angry face suddenly smiled, and instead of being angry, he was happy and said grimly, “Since you are so confident in your control ability, let’s have a soul battle to see whether your shadow control is better or my green phosphorus snake poisons you to death first. I want you to taste the green phosphorus poison!”
Lu Buliang also stood up and readily agreed, “Come on. I also want to experience the venom of the green phosphorus snake.”
After the voice fell, the two of them stared at each other. The smell of gunpowder was very strong. The two soul auras in the box began to collide, and the table was shaken by the shock force generated by the soul power.
