Chapter 9: Shadow Martial Spirit (2)
🕑 Added 2025-04-19 13:40:43 +0000 UTC“Three members of the Education Committee, Qin Ming has brought Lü Buliang here.”
Hearing the voice outside the office, Meng Shenji immediately stood up and opened the door, “Teacher Qin, you’re just in time. Please come in first.”
Qin Ming showed courtesy to Meng Shenji, walked into the office and respectfully saluted Prince Xue Qinghe, Bai Baoshan, and Zhi Lin respectively. Lu Buliang, who was following behind him, also imitated Qin Ming and made the same gesture.
After closing the door, discussions started to circulate in the office again.
“Teacher Qin, is this the civilian student with the qualification of an excellent student you mentioned?” Zhi Lin, the third teaching committee member, looked at Lu Buliang and asked in confusion, “I heard that you asked him to join the first team of Heaven Dou Royal Academy as an auxiliary spirit master. The spirit power of auxiliary spirit masters tends to be more docile. Judging from the fluctuations of his spirit power, he doesn’t seem to be an auxiliary spirit master.”
Qin Ming nodded slightly and said, “Yes, Lu Buliang is a combat soul master. However, as described in the information, due to the special nature of the shadow martial soul, his soul skills can not only work on himself, but also on the enemy or teammates. In team battles, he is not only a combat soul master, but also plays a supporting role.”
“Team One already has Ye Lingling’s Nine-Hearted Begonia Martial Spirit as an aid, but the three members of the Education Committee also know that although the Nine-Hearted Begonia Martial Spirit has powerful healing abilities, it has too many limitations. Therefore, I want to recruit a support-type spirit master who can improve team combat capabilities for Team One. This way, in the elite competition three years later, Team One will definitely have an amazing performance.”
Meng Shenji said with satisfaction, “Teacher Qin always cares about the honor of the academy no matter what he does. Thank you for your hard work.”
Qin Ming smiled faintly, “I didn’t have the opportunity to participate in the elite competition before, which is a regret of my life. If my efforts can help Heaven Dou Royal Academy Team 1 achieve good results, it will be considered as my wish come true.”
“Teacher Qin, I have learned about Lü Buliang’s situation.” Meng Shenji patted Qin Ming’s shoulder, “Don’t worry, I am not old and confused, I can still tell gold from silver. Lü Buliang is indeed unique in his martial arts talent, and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince has approved his qualification as an excellent student, and the three of us have also approved it.”
Hearing this, Lü Buliang was overjoyed and bowed respectfully to the important figures, “Thank you, Your Highness the Crown Prince and the three members of the Education Committee.”
“Wait. There is one more thing I want to understand.” The third seat Zhilin suddenly stood up, looked at Lu Buliang, and said seriously, “Your martial spirit talent is indeed unique, but I don’t know about your spirit master talent. I want to test your strength.”
“How do you want to try?” Lu Buliang asked.
Zhilin’s serious face suddenly smiled, “Let’s see how you perform in battle.”
Qin Ming rushed to say, “Professor Zhilin, I don’t think you need to try. This morning I asked Teacher Shi Gao to help me give a practical instruction class to Team one. Now they are probably still fighting in the playground. I will replace Ye Lingling later and let Lü Buliang take her place as an assistant to fight another match with Teacher Shi Gao.”
“If you want to know how Lü Buliang performs in battle, you might as well go to the playground to watch the battle. In this way, you can not only see how Lü Buliang performs in battle, but also see how his support role in the team differs from Ye Lingling’s support.”
“Very good, very good.” Meng Shenji replied, “The three of us are just free.”
“I’m going to watch the battle too.” Prince Xue Qinghe looked at Lu Buliang and said, “The shadow martial spirit is quite interesting. Who knows what amazing performance it will have.”
“Let’s go.” Zhilin put his hands behind his back and was the first to walk out of the office.
Others also left the office and rushed to the playground.
“——”
Playground, center.
On the fighting spirit stage.
Shi Gao and Yu Tianheng and seven others are conducting actual combat training.
After more than ten minutes of fighting, Shi Gao did not use his martial soul or soul skills as agreed before. He just stood there quietly, giving people an unshakable feeling.
No matter how Yu Tianheng and others attacked, they could not hurt him at all. Even with all their strength, Shi Gao only took a few steps back. There was no sign of injury on his body.
Instead, Yu Tianheng and his men who launched the attack were covered in wounds due to the powerful defense.
Thanks to Ye Lingling’s Nine-Hearted Begonia treatment, Yu Tianheng and others were able to remain calm despite being injured, and they continued to fight with the highest will and physical condition.
However, soul power will be exhausted. If Ye Lingling cannot injure Shi Gao before her soul power is exhausted, then the outcome of this actual combat will be decided.
After a few minutes, Yu Tianheng and others launched a continuous siege on Shi Gao, but were once again covered in wounds by the terrifying defensive shock force.
Ye Lingling’s Nine-Hearted Begonia martial spirit is released, providing area-of-effect healing to all.
Covered with wounds, Yu Tianheng and the other seven received treatment and recovered. When they were about to launch an attack with all their strength, Ye Lingling behind them fell down.
During the nearly half-hour battle, her Nine-Hearted Begonia Martial Spirit had healed her teammates too many times, which resulted in her running out of soul power and she knelt weakly on the ground.
Dugu Yan was the first to notice Ye Lingling’s condition and hurried over to help her up.
Seeing this, Yu Tianheng and others gave up fighting and looked at Ye Lingling worriedly.
The team’s fighting style is based on Ye Lingling’s Nine-Hearted Begonia Martial Soul. With the Nine-Hearted Begonia Martial Soul, even if they are seriously injured, they can recover instantly, and even if their physical strength is exhausted, they can be revived with full blood immediately.
Therefore, Yu Tianheng and others can fight without restraint and do not need to consider how to conserve their physical strength.
When Ye Lingling lost her combat ability and could no longer assist her teammates, the team’s flaws were completely exposed.
Without Ye Lingling’s assistance, the others would have no one to rely on, and defeat would be a matter of sooner or later.
As the captain and the pride of the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon it was such an unwilling, helpless and shameful thing for Yu Tianheng to admit defeat to the enemy on behalf of his teammates. However, Yu Tianheng still accepted the reality, suppressed his unwillingness and said to Shi Gao, “Teacher Shi, we lost this practical class.”
Hearing this, Shi Gao withdrew the green aura lingering around his body. That was exactly the soul power of the Black Tortoise Martial Soul.
After half an hour of fighting, facing the continuous siege of high-quality martial spirits such as the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon the Black Tortoise, the Ghost Leopard, the Green Phosphorus Snake, and the Wind Chimebird, Shi Gao not only did not consume any of his soul power, but he did not even have a bruise on his body.
Seeing Yu Tianheng and the others looking dejected and demoralized, Shi Gao shook his head in disappointment and scolded them, “I haven’t trained you for two months, and it seems like you haven’t grown at all. Do you think you are worthy of being called the pride of Heaven Dou Royal Academy based on your strength? Don’t make me laugh.”
“I said that if you fail the actual combat, you will have to run around the playground a hundred times carrying a turtle shell. I am very dissatisfied with your performance, so this time the weight of the turtle shell has been increased to twice as much as before. Ye Lingling is no exception, and everyone must be punished.”
“Teacher Shi Gao, wait a minute.” The sudden voice attracted everyone’s attention.
Shi Gao, Yu Tianheng and others looked over and saw that the people coming were actually three members of the Education Committee and Crown Prince Xue Qinghe.
In addition, Qin Ming and Lu Buliang followed behind.
The person who interrupted Shi Gao’s voice was none other than Meng Shenji. Within a breath of time, three teaching committee members appeared under the fighting spirit arena. Third seat Zhilin looked at Yu Tianheng and the other seven who admitted defeat, and sighed in his heart. It was just as Qin Ming said, the fighting style of Heaven Dou Royal Academy’s team was too monotonous. Once they lost Ye Lingling’s healing assistance, the entire team would become a mess, and there were also certain defects in the coordination between teammates.
In addition, the Nine-Hearted Begonia can only restore physical strength but not soul power. Facing a strong opponent, no matter how much physical strength you have, it will only delay the time of defeat. There is no way to turn the tide for the team and reverse the situation.
The embarrassed appearance of Yu Tianheng and others after their defeat also aroused Zhilin’s interest. He wanted to see what changes would happen after Ye Lingling’s position was replaced by Lu Buliang.
“Three members of the Education Committee, and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince? Why are you all here?” Shi Gao thought, could it be that he was discovered while corporally punishing students just now?
Meng Shenji chuckled, “Teacher Shi Gao, we are here to watch the game. I heard that you will have another game with Yu Tianheng and the others later. However, the assistant will not be Ye Lingling, but this new student who just joined the academy.”
Hearing this, Shi Gao looked towards where Meng Shenji stretched out his hand, and what came into his sight was a strange face, “This…”
Shi Gao scratched his head. “Chief Meng, the result will be the same, right? With Ye Lingling’s assistance, Yu Tianheng and the others will have endless stamina and won’t have to worry about getting hurt. In a protracted battle, they might have a chance to injure me. If it were any other auxiliary spirit master, I’m afraid they wouldn’t last more than a few minutes in my hands.”
Lu Buliang laughed, “How do you know if you don’t try?”
“You’re a pretty arrogant freshman.” Shi Gao looked at Lü Buliang with a serious look in his eyes, crossed his arms, and snorted, “Well, come on. When you lose, no matter if you’re an auxiliary spirit master or not, you’ll have to run around the playground a hundred times carrying a heavy tortoise shell on your back.”
Qin Ming patted Lu Buliang on the shoulder and encouraged him, “Perform well.”
“Don’t worry, Teacher Qin, I won’t let you down.”
After saying this, Lu Buliang walked up the steps to the fighting arena under everyone’s gaze.
