Chapter 15: Lothian City
🕑 Added 2025-04-13 03:57:07 +0000 UTCThe city gates were wide open.
Menachel was not worried about being ambushed and walked straight into the city gate. As soon as he entered Lothian City, several knights in helmets and armor emerged on both sides, and the knight in silver armor came to Menachel.
“Please hand over your weapons to the servants for safekeeping.”
As he said that, a man came trotting from behind, stretched out his hands and knelt in front of Menachel.
This was out of the most basic wariness of the knight who had just run away, but Menachel didn’t think so – maybe others didn’t know, but his sword was made of real dragon bones, and Menachel was not at ease to leave it to someone he was not familiar with.
What’s more, with a sword in his hand, it was difficult for Menachel to feel safe.
“No, my sword is quite heavy, and most people can’t lift it.”
Menachel waved his hand politely, ignoring the incredible look of the silver-armored knight in front of him, and wanted to walk straight forward.
The silver-armored knight immediately stretched out his hand to stop him, and the sound of knights’ swords being unsheathed could be heard from all around.
“I’m sorry I can’t let you pass. This is the rule of Lothian.”
It seemed that he couldn’t get away with it. Menachel sighed lightly. He didn’t want to give up the city he had finally come across, so he stopped. Only then did he seriously look at the silver-armored knight in front of him. There was no magic fluctuation on his body, and he was much weaker than the weakest dragon in Utopia.
To let such a knight take up a position, the strength of other people in the city must not be too strong.
——So just kill him directly?
Menachel shook his head and couldn’t help but feel amused at his own thoughts. This is no longer Utopia, and what he is facing is not a monster. Menachel is not so bad as to massacre the city for no reason.
“Forget it.”
He said, Menachel stretched out his arms, placed the greatsword horizontally in front of his chest, and then turned his wrist to stagger the sword edge, and the smooth sword surface was facing the servant kneeling on the ground.
“Take it.”
The squire immediately knelt down and crawled to the front of Menachel, and his palm touched the sword.
At this moment, Menachel suddenly let go, and the squire only felt his hands sink. Before he could exert force, his hands were pressed to the ground by the knight's sword.
The squire looked up and showed Menachel a flattering smile, but his smile soon disappeared. No matter how hard he tried, the sword did not move at all.
“What are you doing!”
The silver-armored knight scolded the squire with a little anger. The task given to him by King Gwyn was to show the power of the country to the new knight, but it turned into a drama by a squire.
“Well, Lord Chamo, this sword is a bit heavy.”
The squire’s forehead dripped with cold sweat. He looked up at the silver-armored knight with a smile that was uglier than crying.
Although Chamo wanted to behead this shameful squire with a sword at this time, he knew that this would only make outsiders laugh. He stared at the squire angrily, then waved his hand to call a knight behind him to let him come forward and take the sword.
The knight named by Chamo walked over indifferently. He first stretched out one hand to hold the sword, and soon the second hand was also placed on the hilt. However, no matter how hard he tried, the sword was only lifted a corner.
Chamo, who was already angry and embarrassed, pushed away the knight who was more embarrassed than the squire. He directly held the hilt with both hands and lifted it up in one breath?
Taking a deep breath again, Chamo exerted force again. This time, the knight’s sword finally trembled and hung up. Chamo bent his waist and had no time to announce this great victory to his subordinates around him, and felt the burning gaze around him.
That was the sight of the red-armored knight. Although the opponent’s entire head was covered by the helmet, Chamo always felt that the opponent’s expression at the moment was definitely mocking.
His face turned pale and blue, and he felt that the silver armor on his body had become a jester’s costume. Before he could catch his breath, the greatsword that had just been raised to his calf immediately jumped around uncontrollably as if it had its own ideas.
However, for the sake of his own face and the kingdom’s face, Chamo gritted his teeth and insisted on not letting go.
However, this strange move made the surrounding knights retreat for a while, but Menachel took two steps forward and stretched out his hand to accurately grasp both sides of the sword.
“Let go.”
The little show of strength made Menachel feel much happier. Chamo let go of his hand very simply. Menachel kept the posture of holding the sword and adjusted the position of the sword at high speed in the air, and easily carried the greatsword on his shoulder.
“Thank you very much.”
Chamo bowed his head to express his gratitude to Menachel. After Menachel’s deliberate show of skill just now, he no longer had the desire to compete with him – anyway, this person was no longer his competitor.
“Thank you.”
Chamo’s face was a little pale, perhaps because he had just exerted too much strength.
“Lord Chamo, what’s going on?”
King Gwyn, who hurried over from a distance, only saw the scene of Menachel taking the sword. He looked at Menachel with some vigilance, suspecting that he was here to assassinate him.
Chamo knelt down in front of King Gwyn first.
“I congratulate the king on getting a great help.”
The red-armored knight in front of him was an existence that Chamo could not afford to offend. Chamo was sure that he didn’t know whether his show of power just now had angered the other party, but fortunately, with Chamo’s long experience in the court, he knew how to remedy the situation.
King Gwyn glanced at Chamo. He knew the temperament of this knight very well. He touched his chin and thought for a while. He said to Chamo, “Since that’s the case, Lord Chamo, you can take…”
King Gwyn stopped and turned to look at Menachel.
“Sartish Menachel.”
Although he felt a little uncomfortable with this strange name, King Gwyn continued without changing his expression, “Take Lord Menachel and rest first.”
He turned to look at several knights under Chamo and said, “You will come with me to welcome the King of the Hundred Knights.”
Menachel’s eyes flashed and he remembered the name of King of the Hundred Knights.
“It was our King Gwyn of Lothian just now. It was he who agreed to let you enter the city.” After King Gwyn left, Chamo, who was demoted to a “tour guide”, said, “But the king is now busy with important matters and cannot come to receive you in person.”
“Knight Chamo, the King of the Hundred Knights just now was…”
Chamo looked at Menachel in surprise, as if wondering why he didn’t even know the famous King of the Hundred Knights, but even so, Chamo didn’t say a word, just pretending not to hear and led the way.
Knowing that he had asked a weird question, Menachel didn’t go into it any more. He changed the topic and continue to ask, “Do I still need to give my sword to the squire?”
“No.” Chamo’s face twitched, and he looked at the knight who was carrying a big sword and following behind him easily: Sir Menachel, there is probably no one else in Lothian who can pick up this sword except you.
