Yeah, I almost always do a lighting sketch first, especially when I’m working on a full scene with background or a specific mood :) It really helps me see early on if the feeling comes across the way I want it to. If not, I can still change the colors, light or even the angle before I go into lineart ☺️ Sometimes I even realize it’s not working at all and just move on to something else, so it saves a lot of time too haha 😂
